    Afternoon everyone!

A lot of concensus on the tiredness thing. The way I look at it is this: Alcohol is a stimulant. Remove that stimulant (which you've been putting in your body for quite a while) and your body takes a while to readjust. I'm sure you'll all find after a while you will feel more lively!

Well, Piglets just trotted off to nursery (with a little bit of gentle shoving from me:cool:). He's still slightly under the weather but definately fit enough for nursery. I like this couple of quiet hours before I go to work too....I'm supposed to be doing housework though!:rotfl:

    Hi all

fay, you're an absolute star and a credit to our thread. Thanks for all your offers of support and I hope we are helping you as much as vice versa:T
BHB, I'm sure you've thought of this but do be careful that you stick to your reduced intake tonight and not see the last two days as 'banking' units. If you could build three types of day in each week: AF, low units and weekends then you'd cut back even further. Good luck with tonight.

jo, sorry to hear about last night. Any particular triggers or did the fancy just come over you?

Tiredness when AF? Definitely! My problem isn't so much just feeling wiped out but lack of sleep. With wine I am asleep in minutes without it it takes an age. Of course, it's partly my own fault because before my body can adjust it's the weekend and I'm drinking again.

gien, I'm sure you'll get different answers from different people depending on whether they have already given up, are trying hard to or just a self-confessed cutter-downer like me. I would just enjoy having your friends round and carry on as usual. You could have straight tonics in between or put plenty of water on the table at dinner if you want to cut back or you could fess up to your friends if you really wanted to (assuming they notice). For me I have just cut out the drinking at home on 'ordinary' evenings which means I look forward to weekends and holidays even more (although I must say I do drink less on those days now).

This wasn't meant to be a long post!! Just wanted to come on and say to everyone like shellybelly(and me) who is motivated by calories saved. I would build in a small treat for being AF but not an edible one. If you need something during an AF evening go for a low-cal soft drink and then have a treat like a manicure with some of money saved. Chocolate is your enemy!!

I'm just going for two types - AF and Low AF :D (By low AF I mean within RDA ) I want to keep weekends to a max of 3-4 units too...... fingers crossed ;)

    I don't enjoy 10-12 units a night now.
