  • Fay, I'm pledging 28 days. I got on the scales this morning and I've gained half a stone in 2 months, which is the same time that I've been drinking regularly. I feel like crying!

  • Hi there

another af for me last night so 2 FAFFS for me please!

Had a great day yesterday, gym in the morning then ice skating with a friend in the afternoon, had such a laugh I was still buzzing last night so had no need for a drink! (Don't think Torville & Dean have got much to worry about though!)

Had a tiff with hubby last night over money issues but...because neither of us had been drinking it was sorted pretty quickly! He was moaning about my spending on this and that and wanting everything now... I very graciously agreed he was right and have promised to reign in my spending (no way would I have given in so easily if I had been drinking).

What with cutting down on alcohol AND spending this month I am starting to feel like a saint already :D

Jo - big hugs, hope you have a better day today. I agree with the others that your body is trying to tell you something but totally sympathise because when I was bingeing daily, I suffered terribly with stomach cramps and was always on medication for it....I tried cutting out all sorts of food but I now know it was all because of the drink. I am fine most day now, but whenever I do I have a binge I pay the price for a couple of days after.

Right off to do some studying now.

    xx Shelly

I feel your pain! Hence my name shellywinebelly! Apart from needing to cut down because of my health and because I fellt like I was spiralling out of control, I NEED to lose my wine belly so I can actually fit back into my clothes!

Just think of the calories you will save just by not drinking! (must confess to treating myself to other naughty things like chocolate, cake etc but still not as bad as a bottle of wine :))

Good luck...right def off to do some studying now!

maybe this is your bodys' way of letting you know ...IT DOESN'T WANT ANYMORE.

You are five times more likely to develop mouth and throat cancer through excessive drinking...... so you must stop now.

    Sorry if this sounds harsh

    It is.

    I know.

    It doesn't.

    Thank you xx

That is exactly what I'm thinking of at the moment. I need to give myself a kick up the bum!

Like others have mentioned on here, I feel so tired! I slept from half 8 last night until 7 this morning. I'm definitely sleeping better now I'm not drinking before I go to bed.

  • Interesting to read about some of you feeling tired.

I have been feeling completely wiped out recently, I assumed it was because I was recovering from working over christmas (I work at Sainsbury's and it's absolute hell during December). I also thought it's because I've lost about half a stone in the last 6 weeks or so, (again I thought that was because of work and my job changing). Now I'm beginning to wonder if it's because I've cut down my drinking so much, though I'm not completely AF.

Been having a lot of down days too.

Sounds like you've had a lot to cope with recently.

Hmm, not really thought about it that way but maybe. I've had a promotion so I'm doing a lot of training but I'm having to do it in my own time after I've clocked out as I can't get off the shop floor to do it while I'm on shift.

Christmas isn't a nice time for people working in retail. We're getting a big extention to our store so next Christmas we'll be open boxing day. Not looking forward to working that. :(

All the more reason to try and be healthy though! ;) Hope to be FAFFing this evening!
  • Hi All

Jo - hope you can manage a FAFF free day today - sometimes it just feels like a big uphill struggle I know.

Seems like we all need each other at the mo - Feb is going to be a struggle for me I can feel it. Seems like the shiny new resolution of January is becoming a bit tarnished. However I will not let it get the better of me - thanks in part to all the uplifting posts and advice on here. Fay - great motivational post today - thank you.
