Jo.....Alcohol IS a poison you know....and maybe this is your bodys' way of letting you know ...IT DOESN'T WANT ANYMORE.
You are five times more likely to develop mouth and throat cancer through excessive drinking...... so you must stop now.

So true, however it is our minds that make the decision to drink. Many thousands die of alcoholism despite their bodies giving many signals.
A hangover is the most basic of signals - i.e. overdoing it will hurt the next day!!
Stop messing about......get you 'arris in gear:D.....and STOP LETTING ALCOHOL RULE YOU.
As you said in a previous post you are 37 years old and big enough to fight this and WIN.

If I fight alcohol, it will always win. What I needed to do was surrender to it and my alcoholism, and then I could learn to live happily without it.
Alcoholism is primarily a disease of the mind.
Sorry if this sounds harsh but you are worrying me now......
You have a family to think about.............as well as yourself.

    Take care of YOU
    Love Mollypollyxxxx

For most alcoholics, there is usually a family that suffers as well.
This is why it is a truly dreadful illness.

One has to want to get sober enough for oneself, not for anyone else.
And that sometimes means going to any lengths to achieve sobriety.

    Thanks for popping by

Jo - I'm with MP - Its trying to tell you summat ;)

Does that happen with just Stella, or other Alcohol too ?

Don't think I'm FAFFing today. I'm looking at it as like a diet. If you don't eat much for a while you will cave in much more quickly. If you reduce little by little theres less chance of me caving.

Sorry GC / RA - I know you probably don't agree with statement and would opt for 'total wipeout' :o

Currently UNDER the RDA by a long way this week :j

With regards to March ... MAFF ???

MAFF - Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food ....have now changed there name to DEFRA .....um .....Delaying the End of February's Redundant Alcohol. :D

    Take care

Whatever works for you - however if you are under daily and weekly RDAs and having some days without alcohol, then that seems to be effective :T
You know when something isn't effective when it isn't working.

Many people on this thread stop drinking for a period of time (often after an incident that they regret). However, a few weeks or months later they are drinking again. Thus whatever method they employed has not been fully successful (often it is willpower that lets people down)

    Good afternoon.

succesful FAFFing her yesterday so 3 FAFF DAYS for me please faye.

I'm already trying to think forward to the end of the month and how I am going to handle it. I have some very very good friend coming to stay over the half term. We always have a drink but not normally too excessively as non of us can cope with the hangovers, well there's normally at least one big blow out and then lots of wine with dinner etc for the rest of the time.
SO, I'm thinking of strategies to avoid the bells oclock (G and T at six....) or at least reduce the amount (one thing easy is not to drink like a blooming fish which is my usual approach to GandT).

I kind of feel that this could be a bit of a booze watershed.

Did anyone esle feel excessively sleepy after a few AF days. I just feel really tired and it's not because I'm hungover! And I'm eating well and exercising so I should have loads of energy but I feal feel like going and having a granny nap.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Its working at the moment :). I certainly am not craving it like I was :j.

The thought of saying 'never again I have a pint or glass of wine with my lunch' seems just too restricting for me.
Saying I can never have another drink at all was just giving me the 'sod it' feeling.

Gradually reducing is still taking willpower, but not as much as stopping completely. It is also making me far more relaxed about the whole thing. Being relaxed is helping me not drink as much ......does that make sense ?? :o
