Mamam - Sorry to hear about your S-I-L:o
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Maman, so sorry to hear your news about your SIL, I hope she makes a good recovery. Please make sure that you all insist on rehabilitation very soon, my dad had numerous strokes and half of his problem was that the hospital didn't get him moving quick enough and you have less of a chance of a full recovery the longer you leave it xxxx

    Morning all,

Failed FAFF for me last night, headache this morning and for the record, my gums have swollen up this morning and teeth are numb, so that proves that it's alcohol that now has that effect on my mouth. It was fine for the last week or two of not drinking *confused*

Right, off to work, speak to you all later x

Well didn't give in last night so thats 3AFD this week. Felt tired this morning even though I had the early night and for the first time for as long as I can remember the alarm woke me up. I always set it if I'm up early but never need it as I'm always awake. Think its because an AF sleep is different than an alcohol induced one.

Thought I would have lost weight this morning but I haven't, boooo! Only had 11.5pts yesterday on WWs when should have 17. Had three proper home cooked meals though and was full. Will keep at it today and I'm sure it will pay off.

Have saved £18ish on the wine I would have drunk so far this week. I have got a really nice bottle in the fridge but it doesn't tempt me anymore there than it being anywhere else. It's a bit of a test.

I also have AF wine in the fridge and I'm not going to have any of that either as although it is AF it is giving in to me by having a wine.

Told my husband last night that I'm cutting down and he was pleased although he would never tell me I should. Didn't want to tell him until I'd done a few days.

    Hi Everyone

    Really enjoying this thread. :T
I can totally see how stresses and alcohol go hand in hand. I'm a nurse and specialise in alcohol. If anyone has any questions, ask away.

Thanks. What do you consider the most effective method for giving up? I know many rehabs use the 12 step programme, but are there any NHS guidelines?

    Morning all

NJW69 :Ton the 3 days so far. I find I'm sleeping completely different now I'm not drinking. It took a little while but now sleep pretty much through the night and wake up feeling rested. Good luck.

Busy morning this morning so ought to get my behind off this computer. Ebay things finished last night. Have raised £47 towards washing machine!:T Got about 10 parcels to post this morning - post office man is gonna love me;)

    Take care all!

Jo.....Alcohol IS a poison you know....and maybe this is your bodys' way of letting you know ...IT DOESN'T WANT ANYMORE.
You are five times more likely to develop mouth and throat cancer through excessive drinking...... so you must stop now.

Stop messing about......get you 'arris in gear:D.....and STOP LETTING ALCOHOL RULE YOU.
As you said in a previous post you are 37 years old and big enough to fight this and WIN.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but you are worrying me now......

    Hi FG

    Thanks for popping by

Jo - I'm with MP - Its trying to tell you summat ;)

Does that happen with just Stella, or other Alcohol too ?

Don't think I'm FAFFing today. I'm looking at it as like a diet. If you don't eat much for a while you will cave in much more quickly. If you reduce little by little theres less chance of me caving.

Sorry GC / RA - I know you probably don't agree with statement and would opt for 'total wipeout' :o

Currently UNDER the RDA by a long way this week :j

With regards to March ... MAFF ???

MAFF - Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food ....have now changed there name to DEFRA .....um .....Delaying the End of February's Redundant Alcohol. :D

    Take care

Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
