Maman so sorry to read your post; don't need to google it, happened to my Mum, & I was made to feel ashamed by the ward nurse that I'd walked past her without recognising her (it was a v severe stroke) so I know how awful the effects can be.
It's amazing, though, how much / well someone can recover from the initial impact of the stroke (I've known other people who've had one) so I hope your SIL (how old?) will "come back" to you xx0 -
