Hi Everyone
Really enjoying this thread. :T
I can totally see how stresses and alcohol go hand in hand. I'm a nurse and specialise in alcohol. If anyone has any questions, ask away.

Read a line yesterday that has stuck in my head 'Recovery is a process not an event' I liked that.
My favourite book.

Some methods A.A. members have used for not drinking.

Hello again everyone and welcome to newbies who've arrived since yesterday!
It occurred that so many of you are tucked up in PJs this evening that at least we wouldn't be welcome in the wine aisles a Mr Ts!
:T:T to Mr and Mrs BHB, and sorry to hear about the scrabble but at least you didn't turn to drink for consolation.
:Tto all other successful FAFFers tonight.
Thanks for hugs and kind words.
winebox, my SIL has just turned 70 and we are all hoping that she will recover enough to communicate with us. I just can't believe that so recently she was partying with us at Christmas and in France on our champagne run just before. At least now I've visited once, I'll go again for as long as it takes.
3AF please fay!0 -

Apologies for the long nonsensical waffle, I seem to have run on for ages. As if I have any answers :rotfl:
Hi Fay, I'm on 2/14 tonight. Any chance of the psychedelic headache socks; I don't think I can carry stripy ones off! Except in privacy of my own home maybe. With nobody old enough to mention Minnie the Minx.
Maman, so sorry to hear about your SIL. Crossing my fingers that she makes a good and speedy recovery. Big Hugs to you hun. Err words aren't really good enough for some thoughts are they.
Hey, Winebox. There's still 25 days of February left so you can still crack on with FAFFing - tomorrow is a new, shiny possibly unhungovered one. Go for it.
Hi Phoenix Dragon, and welcome to the thread. I hope you find it helps. Maybe it'll give you somewhere to think about what you want to achieve, drink wise. Good luck!
Hi NJW69 and welome to you too. I know what you mean about the unwinding after work habit - if you can do 16 this month that's going to be a great start weight loss wise (unless you turn to choklit instead!) and money wise too. - Good luck. Have a think about tomorrow when you get in from work and what you'll drink/do instead. OH and I have been finding the reflex to check if there's wine in the fridge is v strong so we've bought soft drinks each of us like (different ones.) Once I eat dinner and drink a soft drink or two things get a bit easier. Lime and soda's one of my faves.
Hi BankFree and glad you found the thread. You've done very well to give up weekday drinking in Jan - well done! I found it hard and kind of was surprised but kind of knew I would find it hard because I really didn't want to try and cut down, if you know what I mean.
fpt well done for turning down the pub offer - very strong willed - yay!
Lamarsi, well done on joining SW, good cover for not drinking if you don't want to tell people.
little_h, good job on sticking to your ww points too. And plan a campaign for the weekend time ahead - maybe see a film or have a bath or paint your nails (get rid of any straws first so you can't drink some wine that way) helps with the ww points too. Assuming you're female and realised I don't know - but could work if you're a bloke too and then extra time taking it off again afterwards
December Baby, it's great you took the first step and sometimes it seems like things happen at the time you're ready for them if you know what I mean. (OK, in my head that made sense) Glad you like the mad peeps on here. I agree (can't remember who said it now) that the pacing and restlessness get easier. For me it was deciding to not drink the day after drinking and now it's not an argument in my head and pacing kind of thing it's just how it is, end of discussion. Keep going, you're doing great.
Nettie, sorry to hear you're suffering from hypersomnia - wot is one of those then? Too much sleeping or too much awakeness? Hyper is above right. So I'm guessing above sleeping ie too much of it? I'm not AF but just cutting down I have been sleeping very deeply and seem to want to sleep for hours. Actually I feel like I could sleep for a week or three really.
I thought I liked you lot - then I saw the Eccleston fan club (superb actor pah. Roger Moore's eyebrow can do better! - ducks and covers) and I'm off now, that's it. I can put up with the honesty about hairy toes, bodily functions etc but you lot cannot be serious that he was a good doctor who. Coz you are soooooo wrong. Just as well I'm not drunk or I'd be ranting about this down the pub with you lot until closing/kicking out time - ooh look, that time already I'll get me coat. I am sober. Really.0 -

3 FAFFS for me please Fay
ShaggyWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0
