    Afternoon everyone!

A lot of concensus on the tiredness thing. The way I look at it is this: Alcohol is a stimulant. Remove that stimulant (which you've been putting in your body for quite a while) and your body takes a while to readjust. I'm sure you'll all find after a while you will feel more lively!

    Perfect explanation.
With people drinking for a few days and then not drinking for a few days, it all gets rather confusing for your body

gien, I'm sure you'll get different answers from different people depending on whether they have already given up, are trying hard to or just a self-confessed cutter-downer like me. I would just enjoy having your friends round and carry on as usual. You could have straight tonics in between or put plenty of water on the table at dinner if you want to cut back or you could fess up to your friends if you really wanted to (assuming they notice). For me I have just cut out the drinking at home on 'ordinary' evenings which means I look forward to weekends and holidays even more (although I must say I do drink less on those days now).

You must enjoy having your friends around, otherwise what's the point?
You don't have to get p1ssed with them if you don't want to. See what feels right. If you're going to feel guilty about drinking, then perhaps you should avoid it. If it fits in with your plans, then have a drink or 2. Try and stay within the RDAs however, as many people don't drink for a week and then do their weekly allowances in one night!!

If you find it a struggle to enjoy yourself without alcohol, then it indicates that it plays a major part in your life, which could have ramifications later
  • Hey GC - how's life going with you at the moment?

OK - the time is turning to evening and thoughts to FAFFing in full swing

Last nihgt Icelandic Maiden FAFFED in her Pj's with some warm milk
    Molls was FAFFING at work.
mrs and mrs BHB - FaFFED at scrabble - although some blanks must have been used cos there aren't that many 'F' tiles in scrabble I don't think, but if there are then WOW what a score.
Nettie FAFFED doing course work proving yet again that FAFFING is good for your brain.

I think tonight Honeybear and Jo were thinking of FAFFing via mobiles

Whist December_baby is FAFFING with strangers

    So remember:

FAFFING in company is perfectly acceptable
FAFFING impoves your health and your pocket (NWJ69 has already saved £18 during FAFFS)
FAFFING is good for you and people like hearing about your FAFFS

Tonight I'll be faffing in the bath for a bit, doing my hair and getting my suitcase ready for tomorrow when I'll be FAFFING on an aeroplane and then continuing my weekend FAFF in the city of Inverness.

Remember - if you don't pick up the first drink - you too will be a faffer.

Well at work today we were talking about drinking etc and I was saying about cutting back during the week and a few people have already started doing it. Talking about it though made me think about wine and I started to rationalise about how if I did have a wine tonight then didn't have any on Sunday (which is the plan as I'm up early on Monday) I would still hit my target of 4 AFD this week. However I'm on the train home and have decided I'm not going to have any as the feeling has passed. Think I can feel another bath coming on though when I get in!

    Might paint my toenails.

  • I'm feeling fed up, bells are ringing and it'd be nice to have that fuzzy feeling you get after a glass of wine, but I'll probably feel sickly and tired so I've decided I'm not drinking. I shall allow myself tomorrow instead.
