Thanks DB! Achy legs now from the stepper - definately yoga tomorrow as I think I'll have seized up in the morning

I bought those today too from Mr T and the Feelgood bottles too which were 2 for £3 instead of £2 each. They sounded like wine bottles when I put them in the car and 2 work colleagues said what are you sneaking into the car then!?

It's funny how I look at pop prices now eg bought a bottle of Ribena and thought 'that's a bit dear' then thought stop being daft it's not booze afterall! £2.49 bottle of Ribena lasts longer than a £7 bottle of wine with less effects!

If I didn't like the taste of alcohol, I would only be drinking for the effects. And that would be changing the way I feel.

    so many things to say.

if the alcohol was taken out of the drinks, would people still buy them?

is it drinking for the taste or the effect?

I've missed being here, so much time is precious....most days I think of great things about being clean.

I draw immense strength from where I am....a place I never thought possible in the depths of my own personal hell. And each dawn I wake up and I'm still alive...with a chance to make it better. Bit by bit. Moment by moment.

have a great weekend - live the life you deserve - take care.

I've an answer to a question that's not yet come my way.

    "Why did you really stop?"

Answer : "Because I couldn't really explain it to my children."

    makes you cringe doesn't it?

I'd have easily justified £10 a night on beer because it was er, ahem, necessary.

    hmmm.

Hi Everyone....Hope we are all well.

Happy Birthday yesterday Honeybear....sorry its a bit late...hope you`ve saved me some cake:D:D

Still AF here....7 months nearly :j& I sort of can`t remember drinking alcohol if that makes sense. I have no issues with people drinking around me & when I go out now its my usual lime soda, lime & sparkling water or occasionally a red bull with ice.

For me my saviour really has been to find a drink that replaces the `glass in front of me ` habit that I think was a big part of my drinking....the lime is sharp so does`nt have that `pop` taste...trouble is I like it quite strong so get through a couple of bottles of Roses Cordial a week...still alot cheaper than £5 a night bottle of wine:eek::eek:.

I am not complacent though & its still a day at a time...my life is still in a bad place by other factors so stress levels are at an all time high.

Be strong everyone....& to any lurkers reading ask yourself this ....is it time to `Make A Difference` to your life & cut a few extra drinks out today....?

    Angiexx

ps nearly forgot 27 Days for March please...I`ll be up for a full month target in April too :D

    Good morning all,

Shaggy, I'm stepping up to score in April so pass the baton my way. And I'm up to 14/15 MAD so far.

I was AF last night, one of my alternate musn't drink nights which have usually been really easy but last night I was really tempted.

Thinking about HALT I can see this is a very useful one - Hungry -yeah, I'd had lunch and not the healthy snack mid afternoon as in meeting at work until late. Angry - I don't really do anger, only the repressed kind so more upset than angy, and I was. My sense of life not being fair to me and other people being unjust has been an issue at work recently and it's something I struggle to stay calm through. So definitely emotional. Lonely - the one that didn't apply and the only thing that got me through was OH being there although he sensibly didn't try to persuade me either way! And Tired - oh yes, my big one at the moment. I go through phases of not sleeping but recently has been bad even by my standards! And not just after drinking, I've been stressed enough to wake up this morning very early even being sober last night.

I'll get inspired with a theme for April and pick my target and collect other people's from the last few pages.

Hi WBF - thanks for offering to score in April. I'm not setting a target for April because March is the first month I have set one and I've not come anywhere near it. Jan and Feb I set no target and did really well. What's all that about I wonder. Anyway, can you please put me down but with no target, thanks. I fully sympathise with the sleeping problems. I too suffer dreadfully - when drinking and not drinking, not sure if it really makes a difference. Have started a sleep journal to try and figure out a pattern. Anyway, have a lovely Saturday everyone xx
