Good luck for an AF Sunday Marco, well done for the 6 days on the trot :T

Fay, you are slowly changing, look how different you have become in the last year. You know your triggers and are beginning to combat them, ie reading, crocheting (sp?) etc etc. You will become less lonely the more you become used to not drinking. In the meantime, stick with what you're doing, MSE and FB frantically all evening long!

I need to think of ways to change my lifestyle re. drinking today. I need to think about the HALT thing and how it effects me.

I can feel lonely and want a drink, but when I do drink that makes me feel even more lonely, I need to remember this.

Alcohol is my 'friend', it's there whenever I need it, unconditionally, I feel safe knowing that my friend is there the minute I call them.

Unfortunately, it's the type of friend that when you hear the knock on the door, you fly to the door to open it and haul them inside, have a quick look outside to make sure nobody saw them turn up and shut the door quick, it's just you and the friend for the night now, you don't want to see anybody else, so better shut the curtains just incase. You don't want anyone to know that your friend has turned up and you feel you've let yourself down a bit (a lot) because although this friend is always there when you need them, you don't actually like them that much, they actually make you feel very depressed but once they're in you can't get rid of them.

In a very thoughtful mood today, I better log off before I bore the pants off the lot of you :rotfl:

Sparkles, how are you feeling today?

Not that great really, low energy, bit coldy and my eczema has flared up all over one side of my face making me look bright red. Need to pop to the shop for some milk and clear the snow off the car and pavement.

Think I might make some twinks to cheer me up!

I've been realising lately I need to be OK with myself on my own - I don't much like being alone - which is ironic as I spend most of my time alone. I figure if somehow I can crack that bit I might do OK?

The best positive I think I can figure out is how to be content when alone - I guess that's the Lonely part of HALT............................

Answers on a postcard welcomed :)

That's just the same as me, I think I am adjusting to this now and not seeking solace in a bottle of wine at the weekend to cope with the L out of HALT

The cleaning (flying) helped to keep me busy and then the bells ring at 5pm on a weekend and I am adjusting now to blocking them out and realising that wine won't cheer me up or make me feel more sociable. It's a change in thinking for me and let's see if I can keep it going!

Overall feel rubbish today and CBA to do any cleaning that needs doing. Have made some curried parsnip soup for lunch this week. Turned out nice! Esp when made with reduced bag of parsnips for 35p from Mr T!

Think I'll do some ironing and bit more washing and put a stew on to reheat for tea in the week and nip to the shop then that's it for me this week

SOrry to hear about the excema - I get it on my feet when I'm stressed ?Dunno why - went to the docs when it turned up as never had it before I moved up here

Sparkles me chum - I think you're right about the lonely bit - alot of us are quite similar creatures eh?

OK - suns out - billions to do - I will allow myself the laptop switched on in the manner of a converstation in the room - but need to get my 41 approaching 42 year old Bottom in gear as nothing gets done if I'm sitting on it!!

Must walk doggie later and stalk house again - Andy I can slap up a photo breifly on my diary if you're really interested - the big plus with this house is steadings, garage, field and space - oh yeah and the views are OK as well:D
