Good morning,

I had major melt down last night but luckily BF was here to get me sorted. Bit tired still today but in much more positive mindset.
I can report 20 for me please Fay."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Morning all
Shaggy, I hope you ate more than carrot battons, you won't lose any weight that way cos your body will hold on to every bit of fat it can! 3 square (proper) healthy meals a dayA girl at work wanted to lose a couple of stone for her engagement so she just stopped eating. She wouldn't listen to me when I said that she will be thin for her engagement, but it's very likely she'll be even bigger than she is now for the wedding. Her body went on to survival mode, took a long time to lose the last bit cos her body didn't want to lose it as it was getting malnourished. After engagement she started eating again and although she was eating normal food, not all cream cakes and crisps, her body held on to every bit of fat and calorie it could in case of a future malnourishment. She now needs to lose 3 stone for the wedding *rolleyes* and she can't understand why or how she managed to put on a vast amount of weight in such a small amount of time.
I used to be 4 stone heavier just over 8 years ago and went to WW where I did manage to lose the lot and have kept it off. It's all about lifestyle change, as I said to Shaggy, cutting back on eating for a while has quitea detrimental effect to your body, your body goes into panic mode as pounds are shed. That is why it needs to be a life style change that is done gradually but stays constant. I used to eat take aways (mainly cos at the time I could afford it and I was very lazy), probably 3 times a week, I ate lots of convenience food etc. I changed by cooking everything myself from scratch, no more take aways (or at least very rarely, maybe once every couple of months). I haven't become anymore active and definately don't use that 'gym' word. Just cut out the combination of high calories and saturated fats.
I have just realised that this is the approach I need to take with drinking. (I know I've been told over and over again, particularly by GC) I need a lifestyle change, it can be that simple.
What a shocking revelation I've just had and it's only just occurred to me
Jo, 4 stone, WOW:T:T. Great post girl . Funnily enough this morning I have been re-reading:o diets as I really like to lose a few pounds before it gets to t-shirt weather BUT i think I will follow your approach, you are inspirational and you don't even know it;)
Love

jo - hobnobs are lovely - and cos they've got syrup in them they're more moist than dry
A batch doesn't normally make our lunchboxes!
Shaggy - I don't each chocolate either (or watch eastenders - sorry Jo!) shocked about the socks though!!! - Well done either ways!
PIR - Well done on an AF weekend!!!!
JO I think you're right about a lifestyle change - but its hard isnt it
I've stopped watching movies late on (when I drink wine)
I've started to do things wiht my hands that makes holding a wine glass harder (crochet, reading etc - being on here!)
I find it hard though cos I'm tired when I come in and 'flop' = wine (in the older days - not SO much now) so I've started to get more organised for the next day in the evening etc
I'm wondering about this new house - I drank much less when I drove everywhere - less opportunities etc - but the isolation previously got to me a bit (although I'm just as isolated in town?!)
I've been realising lately I need to be OK with myself on my own - I don't much like being alone - which is ironic as I spend most of my time alone. I figure if somehow I can crack that bit I might do OK?
The best positive I think I can figure out is how to be content when alone - I guess that's the Lonely part of HALT............................

Hi all,
I posted the other day with the of intention being AF from last Saturday till the end of March. I managed 6 AF days on the trot which is something very new and different for me and I was actually starting to feel generally better. Bells rang too loud last night though and i had a bt of wine and one beer, slightly fuzzy head this morning where normally I wouldn't have felt any different.
Never mind back on track today and target still remains to be AF till the end of March. I think I actually feel more determined than I did yesterday pre last night.
MarcoSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
JO - I love your post as well - I now feel justified for my 2 shredded wheat and a banana
- I eat alot normally - but the takeaways have crept in here instead of wine purchases - hmm well maybe that's why I'm not shifting the weight I put on
Waves to Marru - sorry hear you had a melt down glad BF was there
BHB - none of us ever know what the weathers going to do! I mean I signed up for a crop which is harvested during winter (no machinery here) so we're harvesting 1 ha by hand (well one chainsaw and lots of picking up sticks)Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Morning FAFFers! Jo - your post was very inspirational and I love the story about your work colleague. Why didn't she listen to you cos after losing 4 stone and keeping it off (go you!) you obviously know what you're talking about. Your comments on losing weight are very similar to the Paul McKenna system which I'm currently following and it just makes so much sense not to starve yourself then end up bingeing cos your appetite's out of control.
Fay - you're right about the hobnobs, they are very moist and extremely moreish. Good luck with the house, by the way - and Jo good luck for the interview.Sober October = 0 alcohol free days
Weight lost so far = 0lb
No spend days so far = 00 -
