i also sent them an appeal because im a student and dont earn that kind of money plus there werent visable signs to say the duration of stay. and i was actually eating kfc in my car with my friend:rotfl:i also rang up kfc to ask them to print of a receipt to prove that i was in the car park but they said they were unable to find the transaction from dec (even though i rang them in jan)

You should complain to the KFC CEO then ( details below but you'll need to try all the email addresses ).

Typical "pay within 7 days" letter from CCS Collect now recieved.

Now up to:

Day 1 - Allegedly used a car park on private land
Day 8 - Recieved a 'parking chage notice' in the post
Day 26 - Recieved second, fairly non-threatening, letter in the post
Day 53 - Recieved third "FINAL NOTICE" letter in the post.
Day 73 - Recieved letter from CCS Debt Collectors

I parked on the Grand Junction Retail Park 27/12/2010 went early doors as it was the Next sale!!!! Never again

Received :-

Letter 1 - Parking Charge Notice, dated 31/12/2010 (received about 11/1/1011 must have been the bad weather!?) Was really scarey thought it was a speeding fine with the pictures on it, wondered who the hell had used my car!

So as I have been informed by lots of people, by mouth (car park attendents - family & friends)webite sites & emails I will not be paying your invoice, but thank you for helping me not to spend my money & to be even more tight with my money. Other's who appealed provided receipts of their purchases + letter explaining the circumstances. One person got off when they explained that they had visited an electrical store to purchase a product & also another store looking at purchasing an item. All areas of the retail park are acceptable. The land is privately owned and have never responded to correspondence from the MP's office.

Went & spoke to the manager in next, he explained to send letter, said I had. He's from Stoke & said that as you go into the car park in Stoke there is a large yellow sign explaining about the charges, but on the car park in Crewe they are small & white signs dotted around & unable to see (if only I could attach them here!?)
Spoke to guys in Currys, they said that someone had been round the last few weeks putting up more signs.

Okay you have sent them a payment of £50 for the invoice, I am really gutted you have done this, understand this the invoice is not enforceable, you should have ignored them utterly and got on with your life, this will never ever ever go to court, you should have watched bbc1 at 8pm last night where watchdog showed these invoices are basically junk , now go to iplayer and watch it.

I don't think they have received letter/cheque as not gone from my account & has been sometime, if they are sending me letters still!

I did view Watchdog, that's what made be think of posting to you guys, but that worried that I couldn't even set up to use post arrrrrgh!

It's just that the last letter 'Notice of Intended Action' (you know, the one with the yellow strip at the top)

the 2 bullet points at the bottom say: -

If you fail to pay or seek help from us, we may take one of the following actions without further warning:-

* Arrange for a local collector to make an appointment to visit you at your home to discuss this debt.
* Recommend to our Client that action is taken against you through the County Court/Sheriff Court.

Its just a standard letter that they send out thousands of times, just with your details on them, really please ignore them, they have no right to your money, and if they haven't cashed your cheque I would go to your bank and tell them that cheque has been lost, please cancel it, they should do it for free as its been lost, some will charge £10 or so, still much cheaper than the £50 its for.
