    Hi,

As someone posts regularly here, I try & be polite & offer advise where I can .... but sometimes the only way to answer is to be abrupt!!

Especially when someone posts about not paying a TFL charge & ignoring the court summons, now owing £500+, wandering how can get off & moaning about how terrible TFL is!!! I tend to react to posts like that .... I know I shouldn't ...

  • I posted my first thread over on DFW and was just putting an idea out there. I had someone reply who was really quite spiteful and made an assumption about me that was far from the truth.

I nearly quit the board there and then, but then a lovely lady came along and I realised not everyone is mean, but so much for the board being non judgemental. It was really quite upsetting

After reading the said post I think your being a bit dramatic, the poster only expressed his opinion and straight away you said it was harsh. This is the problem where people don't like others opinions if it doesn't fit in with their own.
You have to remember that people do need to make some assumptions as to the situation you are posting, its not feasable for the OP to post every little detail in their life that effects the situation they are typing about.

I find it quite sad that people actually get upset from people posting an opinion to a thread regardless of how rude or obnoxious it is, its just words it can't hurt you unless you let it.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

Before agreeing with OP, I wonder how many took the time to read the responses to her post, see here> http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=29103507&highlight=#post29103507

I don't see any comments to justify her complaint

I think there are one or two people who do take pleasure in winding people up. But they are not so many as you'd think.

Some are genuinely offended by what they see as rude and agressive behaviour. Some people think, failing to take on board that a problem might have been down to a person's own ignorance and lack of care, is agressive and rude. Others think to express something in a lairy and over emotive way is rude.

So some people may look rude and mean to some, and look like they are standing up to rudeness to others.

Look, I'm not being funny but why would someone take the time and trouble to post some nasty little comment when all they've got to do is hit the mouse to take them to another post with which they can be contructive instead of destructive?

I'll tell you. Because they're born to be a pain in the !!!.

But maybe they don't see themselves as the nasty ones- maybe they see the person they are replying to as nasty.

I think the people who immediately post on a new thread and say its a load of bloody nonesense, or some other childish, inappropriate remarks are attention seekers, they remind me of lonely people who have no friends as nobody wants to talk to them in real life. Some people take what you post and turn it around and ask you "So you think everyone should stoop to your low level?" or other daft remarks, just putting things to you that you never said in the first place, instead of helping they will run you down.

    Don't know why.
    Owed out = lots.

I'm not nasty at all, and if you go back to the thread you will see that I was ill advised therefore I didn't see that what I was suggesting wasn't the way to go.

The assumption made me annoyed at the time, but I have since gone back to the thread and explained myself :-D

Dramatic it may seem to you, but to me at the time it wasn't. If you go back you will see that I have been back to explain.

You may find it sad that people get upset at words, but you have no idea of their background/mental health therefore you have no idea how the words will affect them.

    Thanks
