I've always used the Asda iron-on one's:
http://www.thenametapecompany.co.uk/
I can't be doing with sew-in ones! lol
They are only £3 for 48 and are really really good. They stick really well, so much so that when I passed on some school clothes to a friend she couldn't get my dd's name label out as it was stuck down too well!!!0 -
https://www.carelabels.co.uk are good - if you have 2 school age kids (like we do) you can split the packet with each name - I only do sew in as I got fed up with the iron in ones0

M&S do them while you wait £4 for loads -can't remember how many 80 -100. They are iron on and I've had no problems -occasionally one comes off but not often - he grows out of the clothes too quickly! I did get some stick on ones too for lunch boxes and drink cups - can't remember where from though but it was online. Loads of kids have the same boxes.0

I hate sewing so I brought a Fabric Marque stamp when my son started nursery - I've had it 13 years and it's still going strong! A link to a retailer who sells the stamps is
http://www.personalpresents.co.uk/view/viewproduct.asp?iProdID=312
The paperwork that came with my stamp quotes the manufacturer's phone number as 01753 893447 - I rang them a couple of years ago to purchase a new ink pad and they sent one free of charge as I was an existing customer! It may be worth trying to contact the manufacturer direct if you're interested. It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.0 -
I am after some reliable name labels, I have two children but only want to order them once(as in get 400 odd labels or whatever people thing for 2 children for the normal amount of clothes etc)
DS is Thomas and DD is Katherine, so I was thinking
T BLOGGS K
so they can be be folded or cut depending on which child , who knows of a company who is cheap and does things well and to a good standard???????????
I am getting excited about DS going to school in Sept(although when the time comes I will cry!!!)Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0 -
Great Idea- I'd recommend the embroidered ones that you have to sew on, the iron on ones can come unstuck after a while- it's more work sewing them on, but will be worth it when the sweatshirts are all the same in the lost and found pile at school.
I ordered mine form a company in the back of the paper, but put our surname and postcode on them, no initials, so they are handy for my gloves too- in case I ever lose them and a kind soul wants to post it back to me!:DMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Do Cash's still make them? That's where all ours were from when we were kids.
Quick search of t'interweb shows - yes they do http://www.jjcash.co.uk/shopping.php
As for your folding suggestion - it also works for the third child (me!) - the labels were M R******* J and I just had the surname bit showing. We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

I've always used https://www.able-labels.co.uk and found them good. They're the ones that are always in the leaflets in the newspapers.0
