You do know you can browse it for free on the interwebs, this is MSE after all"One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. Everybody is in a hurry now and there is a 'the rules don't apply to me' sort of thing." - Bill Bryson0 -

You're getting things !!!!-about-tit. The reason you went flying over his bonnet is not because he didn't indicate, its because he pulled out without first looking to see if the way was clear. An indicator wouldn't make any difference with a person who drives like that, because they'd have put it on without thinking and pulled out immediately.0 -
Of course you are on " auto pilot " otherwise you would not give a useless signal.
Or perhaps he has checked properly but is not so full of himself as to think nothing can ever escape his attention. Therefore developing a habit of using the indicators always, just in case something may have escaped your scanning of your surroundings (such as a bicyclist at night without lights on approaching from your blind spot) is a good thing.
At least I would say it is for those of us without unfailing perception and 360 degree night vision.0 -

Giving a signal will not save the cyclist if you havn't been driving safely enough to see him/her.:(0 -

What I'm doing is not assuming that, even though I've checked, I've perceived everything that's going on with my surroundings.
What you are doing is assuming I'm not even checking my surroundings.0 -

Whatever, this thread was flogged to death anyway.
If you are not fully aware of what is going on around you, you should hand your licence in.
I will leave you to it, you obviously havn't got a clue.0 -

You are right. I apologize for not being infallible 100% of the time. It's obviously is a waste of time to use indicators just in case, and makes my driving far more dangerous. I also apologize for not being able to see what's in my blind spot.
I'll go to turn my license in tomorrow morning and I'll make sure I use public transportation.0
