Just a quickie about insurance claims: last month someone drove into the side of my car and left without leaving a note. The damage was estimated at over £600, but my insurance co handled everything, got me a courtesy car and the excess was £150 - saved more than my annual policy. Then, two weeks ago, my 17 month-old niece dribbled juice onto my laptop, frying the circuitboard. I sit here now typing on a brand new laptop, again courtesy of insurance.

thanks bargain betty i do agree with you .. i just have this horrible feeling that britain is coming more and more obsessed and like the u.s ..i will have to put a claim in ..i have lost so much money..and i honestly am in an awful lot of pain ..although it is getting better....i just don't like it ..it's like he woman who spilt her coffe on mcdonaldsshop floor ,then her son slipped and fell (on her spilt coffe) and she put a claim in ....the boy that hit me was genuinely sorry..and i don't for one second think he did it on purpose...but hey i'm rambling yet again ..i've never ever claime on my house insurance either and i have accidental damage cover ..think i might need to change it lol

    Hi all

    That looks interesting Lynz.

atm my meal planner consists of

Monday: Chicken & Potatoes (sunday leftovers)
    Tuesday: Egg & Chips
    Wednesday: Fry Up
Thursday: Beef & Potato Pie (HM from Sunday dinner leftovers in freezer) -
Friday: Pie again for lunch and dinner - warm ups.

Lunches will be tuna sandwiches unless I get inspired (but this has been lunch just about every day since i was 6 years old so I wouldnt expect too much more), or crisp sandwiches/toast if I am lazy or boiled eggs if I am at home.

lynz i think we like the same food going by your plan (only i don't eat fish) but spicy this spicy that ..yum yum....my fav list on this laptop my nephew aquired for me (all legit might i add) has never had as many faves saved to it ...was reading os board tonight noticed they were talking about a thing called kefir..i know it's gonna cost in the start up..and if i decide to do it it will come off my budget ..but it looks like it might save me a bit inthe long run..now to source some ...mmm..freecycle ..would they even do it ? i love freecycle only heard of it since i joined this forum ..but really love the idea..only down side the person i offered things to (son's bed) decided they couldn't take it due to van breaking down ...so now i'm thinking should i try selling it ? make money pay debts..anyway i'm really waffling tonight sorry everyone....think the hangover has gone and i'm trying to make up for the hours of ...don't talk to me i'm dying etc..that i had today..oh and mentioned to hubby about those £9.50 hols ..he's gonna buy or borrow the sun ..yippe i might just get a 2nd d.f.w hol this year...

OH buys the Sun and Ive put him on strict instructions to save the tokens in case anyone wants any spares. So do pipe up if you want them :)

Not a bad idea about selling the bed - if you get a fiver for it better than nothing innit??

You can only ask on freecycle- you really never know what treasures on there do you? I am going to ask mum if I can have her kenwood chef- I dont think they use thiers but failing that Im going to ask on freecycle. Id love one but the cost of a new one is out of the question!!

HAve you got a slow cooker? Ask around your mates first, thats where we got ours from. I usually go a beef & ale casserole in it, but the other day I did a chicken curry, so simple. Just chucked in some chicken thighs, tin of tinned toms, some onions, mushrooms a manky looking pepper and a tablespoon of curry powder- et voila! Perfect.
