That's great news! I'm glad it went well with your nephew, I was wondering if you had got round to it, and how it had gone down. From what you had said about your history together I thought it wouldn't be a problem somehow. Well done! :TOfficial DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

now this one started before i joined this site ..but i just have to tell you all anyway ( ifeel like were family lol) on the 19th may i was involved in a car accident so couldn't work for nearly 6 weeks ..had to get the car sorted etc..my neck still hurts (just hope that does get better) now about 2-3 weeks ago i was checking through all my paperwork(mountains of stuff) i found out i had taken out sickness/redundancy insurance with my car when i bought it ..this type of behaviour really isn't me ..firstly the hubby buys things like cars etc...(he did have what we thought was a great wage at one point) secondly we never ever take the insurance ..and due to the fact that i was so hopeless with the finances i had forgotten/didn't know:o ...anyway having found this out i put a claim in for them to pay for the car ..found out they would only pay £100 or so but thought ..hey ok it's £100 i wont need to find out of my s.s.p (really really not looking forward to next months wage) ..so there i was filling forms in etc ..then i got a letter through today saying they wern't gonna pay out ..so i phoned ..and they said i didn't meet the conditions for recieving a payment ..but i was off work for weeks ..this wasn't good enough they said..then they said they had to have radiography evidence or i had to be seeing an orthopaedic ..arghhhh:mad:   ..so needless to say i've cancelled my insurance with them ..sorry everyone just had to moan there:p ...but on the bright side i've saved my self the premiums every month :j ..0

today my son flew out to benidorm (going with gran and pap's we just can't afford to go or take him) but before he went he asked me to put his money for the week (still get's £5 a week for gf) into the debt tub i didn't know whether to kiss him or what ..the thing is i sneakily had planned to spend that money on a treat:o ....but my son has once again kicked me into reality;) ...so as soon as snowball arrives the money will go to give him his first feed:D0

aw bless, sons can be v sweet....... occasionally!!!!!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0"Do what others won't early in life so you can do what others can't later in life"0 -
well today i decided to check out my gas and electricity again..now i checked it out only a few months ago and thought i was getting a better deal ..but didn't manage to pin down the cs on exactly how much gas and electricity i was using ..so today i spent quite a while on the phone finding out exactly everything i need to know ....now this one really shocked me we use over 40,000 kwh of gas a year:eek:  WOW that is utterly ridiculous ..i'm gonna hve to come up with some way to decrease that one ..we use 5200 khw electricity a year also ..(i don't know is that normal?) ..so anyway's got on the web site for changing and found a cheaper supplier by £400 a year ..so i changed...even if i don't save the £400 only say £200 it's still a saving ..now i need to get our gas usage down ..i'm starting to get the hang of this all now but still need help so any advice from anyone is welcome..oh and the r.b.s pack arrived i'm having second thoughts i know it's £100 which i could do with especially after the fiasco the other day with the insurance (and this months s.s.p) but it will mean changing accounts etc..can i be bothered ..i just don't know ..any advice ..would you do it?0

I changed my current account a while ago and it all went well - they sort everything out for you with your direct debits and stuff, so I'd say yes, go for it.
Re your accident, sorry to hear about that. My friend was in a crash a while ago and next day she complained to me her neck hurt. I made her go to A/E, she didn't want to go, and to be honest the staff there seemed pretty unimpressed with her story, but I was so glad I did because she eventually made a claim for whiplash injury on the other party's insurance and got a very nice payout. Her solicitor said she wouldn't have got anything if she hadn't had some meical evidence to back it up - so my annoying insistence on driving her to casualty and staying to make sure she waited to be seen paid off! I hope to God you never have another accident, but if you do, make sure you get yourself to A/E if anything hurts. Insurance companies will do anything to avoid paying out and to be honest I think most insurance policies are a complete rip off and waste of time.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0
