Make sure you keep visiting your GP and telling him/her that you are still in pain. If you are offered X ray or referral to a specialist you must go. Keep a record of the dates you visit your GP. My friend's whiplash sorted itself out gradually - she's about your age too. I know what you mean about compensation culture and I agree it's not a good thing, but paupers can't afford to be too principled, needs must etc. And it's not as though you are making it up, you have genuinely been injured and financially inconvenienced. Good luck!Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

yeah i know what you mean i don't mean this to sound horrible so please don't take offence but in a strange way i'm glad your friends whiplash sorted itself out gradually (for me anyway) it gives me some hope that mine will right itself too ..i'm glad your friend is better...0

well well i think my hubby may have had a flicker on his light bulb last night ..we were sitting in the garden having a wee drink (it's a rarity in scotland to get sun so we make the best of it when we get it) and came out with the dreaded i think i'll have chinese for dinner...now don't ask me why i knew he would say this i just did ..so having been one step ahead of him i said ..oh if you do it'll mean the burgers (nice big ones) and salad etc going to waste and it's money we just don't have anymore...well after some deliberation he opted for the burgers..after eating them he said you know what that's £7 i just saved and i enjoyed them better than a chinese ....now if only snowball was here then i could feed him the £7 to show the hubby the difference £7 would make to our debt arghhh...on a lighter note i'm off out today to do some volunteer work taking wheelchair bound people out for the day ..i've told them i have no money and they've said it's ok we buy lunch yippee....before that i'm going up to r.b.s to hand in my forms...have a great day all..hope the weather is good for you all0

ok so i've not been on line for a few days..there is a reason for this....on friday night the hubbyand i were kinda p****d off due to kid being on holiday and us not getting a chance to go anywhere ..so we decided !!!!!! thats it were going away ..but i insisted we go away d.f.w style ..so we packed the car with tent etc and headed off early saturday morning..first we went to the white scar caves (fantastic if you get the chance go) then headed to blackpool intending on staying there for the night ..we couldn't find a place to camp and i refused to book into a hotel (thinking d.f.w) so we just parked for a few hours (bought our rock..the reason we went) then carried on to york..finally arriving at 6pm we got a camp site (yippee) in bishopthorpe...paying £14 a night then went for a walk..(money saving..and environmentally friendly) to the local off license bought a carry out at a reduced price of 20 bottles of stella £10 then instead of going to pub we just sat at the bank of the river ouse chatted and had a few bottles of beer ..sunday went into york ..found a willing person to take us a tour of the city for a £1.99 breakfast (weatherspoons) even got into the minster for free then went to netto's and bought some cheap food and a bbq ..so all in all the weekend only cost us £98 incl petrol.. and it was something we really needed and enjoyed...the weekend was done in true d.f.w style and the hubby was on side the full weekend ..i am so proud of us..normally when we go away we spend well over £500 but now we have a new approach to life...thanks to this site...0

Oh! There y'are! I was wondering why you hadn't been on at the weekend. The trip to York (via Blackpool) sounds great. Well done for doing it so cheaply, and getting OH onside too. I haven't been anywhere - but I attended the virtual DFW Party on Saturday and that was a laugh!Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

wow i wouldve liked to have been at that party...i couldve brought some guinness ,got drunk and danced on the table...oh well maybe this weekend ..if your having another one can i come?0

Shucks, what a great weekend that sounds, and even better if hubby is coming on board. It's lovely to spend £500 on a posh weekend away, but given a choice between that and 5 £100 weekends... well, there is no choice!!!!
Hope the weekend has inspired you both. xA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
