Don't panic El, the 30 miles is a local walk that I'll do in 2 stages over a weekend! Recently I did a fairly tough 10 mile walk with a friend who was training for the 3 peaks challenge (Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike & Snowdon in 24 hours!) I ached quite a bit the following day (and didn't drink enough water, doh!) but the actual walking was fine. When I start the GGW I'll be averaging between 10 & 15 miles a day, so it's a case of wanting to get to the point where 15 miles is fairly comfortable (I'm not a speed walker, more of a stop and look at the scenery walker!)
