Did spinning class yesterday, I thought I was dying. It was so hard and I was so weak. But will get there.

    Today's breakfast: bran flakes, yoghurt
Lunch: most likely salad or jacket potato, haven't decided yet
Dinner: minced lamb with green beans and rice

Snack will be Kellogg's mini breaks and apple.

Hi! 1lb off today! I'm kind of getting into the swing of it now... ish! I plucked up the courage to try houmous yesterday and it was lovely so I've brought it to work to have with some crackerbread thingies as well as my lovely homemade butternut squash and low fat coconut milk soup mmmm. I was quite good last night until OH got home and was sulking because he hadn't had any pancakes all day so made some and made me eat 2 to join in the 'festivities'! Oh well, it's only once a year!

Well done to all the losers this week!

Birdie, a big congrats for getting off the mark and resisting (mostly) pancakes :D and glad you've discovered the joys of houmous!

Pilchard, you're doing so well! You definitely deserve a holiday after your run of luck recently - how are your dogs doing now?!

Little Miss, how about some hula hooping?! It's v g for toning your tum and hips, and it's fun!

Kavics, you have a really interesting, varied diet - I always find that I get stuck in a rut when i'm losing weight and just alternate between the same things. Well done you for going to spinning! I really got into it last year, but I haven't been since Christmas :o

Glad to hear you're back on track Dinah (and yes, I've taken you out of the red!)

I've had a very sloppy week with Valentine's day, a pancake party and lots of ice cream, so I'm going to skip weigh in today but work hard for double next week! I'm aiming for 3lbs, so I best get spinning!

    Keep it up, ladies!

  • Morning! Well done Birdie and Dinah on the weightloss and well done on 'finding' houmous Birdie, is it everything you hoped and dreamed?

I had four pancakes last night! Thought I was going to be sick. But then I felt quite skinny this morning and hopped on the scales (I know it's unhealthy to weigh yourself all the time :o) and I've lost 2lbs since yesterday and am now 10:1, my lowest ever! Don't update me though, I'll do a proper weigh on Monday.

I agree with Poddle Kavics your meals always sound delicious, and it's always stuff I'd never even think of cooking. Today I'm having tuna salad for lunch and it's date night later but not sure where we're going yet. I'm giving up chocolate for Lent - wish me luck with that one! More than likely I'll end up having a chocolate chip cookie or something without realising, but will try to be vigilant!

LOL! I'm not sure about that but it was nicer than I was expecting so I'm happy! I offered some to OH but he turned his nose up and said anything with chickpeas reminds him of jail! (don't ask!).

Well done on being super skinny Tete! Hope you enjoy your date night! I'll be having my yukky tagine again that I made on Monday and I can't throw it out because that'll be a waste but oh... it's not very nice! I don't know what I did wrong but it's just no-where near as good as my Dad's! Blech. I might suck it up, throw it out and have a big tasty stir fry instead!

Kavics, what's easy about your jambalya? My Dad used to make it when I was younger and I loved it but I've never thought to make it for myself!

  • Ugh, I had my salad literally 20 minutes ago and am hungry  Going to see what healthy snacks I can find in Boots (nothing chocolate-coated mind) and maybe buy some fizzy diet pop to fill me with air!

Is your soup nicer than the tagine Birdie? It sounds lovely!

:). We're meal planning on Saturdays for the week ahead of us and have lots of really delicious recipes which we like to cook, also has a rule of trying out a minimum of one new dish per week. If it's nice, it goes on the list which is at the front of my home-made recipe book (simply notebook, I just cut out recipes from newspapers, print them out from internet, photocopy them from library books than glue them in, the first two pages like index so we can just look at the list and decide what we want to eat-usually cooking 4 meals for 7 days, double portions and etc). We both exercise a lot, so it's usually quite heavy staff like pasta, potato and rice, and for other half lots of protein, but we also eat equal amount of veggies too. It works out very well for us, Thursday night is the only night when I don't eat at home (body pump class starts so late that I eat at work) so OH can have take away.

Easy jambalaya is a waitrose recipe: http://www.waitrose.com/recipe/Easy_Jambalaya_with_Chipolatas_and_Chorizo.aspx
It's yummy! and so easy to cook!
  • Ooh, loving the recipe sharing - I didn't really know what jambalaya was but it looks like that thing I liked in Cuba! Would love your soup recipe Birdie!

That's such a good idea! I'm totally going to do this once we have our place! Instead of trying a different cake recipe every week :rolly-eyes: - I miss the smileys, where have they gone?!

I have one of those recipe books too Kavics, and it's all covered in stains and things from when I've used it - which is good, I like 'working' books :D
