Oh, I can't post a link as you have to be logged into the site, but here it is in all its glory... Simples
POINTS® Value: 6
Servings: 4
Preparation Time: 20 min
Cooking Time: 45 min
Level of Difficulty: Moderate
This dish is typical of Moroccan cooking which is often spicy and aromatic without being too hot. However, if you feel like turning up the heat, you can stir a spice paste called harissa into the juices of this stew.
Ingredients4 medium skinless chicken drumstick 1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion(s), sliced thickly
1 medium red green or yellow pepper(s), RED, de-seeded and sliced
2 medium carrot(s), cut into thick sticks
250 g potato(es), (9oz) cut into thick chunks
1 stick celery, large, sliced thickly 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, ground 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin 2 teaspoon ground coriander 450 ml fresh stock, chicken
1 portion bay leaf
1 portion lemon(s), (juice of, plus a few strips of zest)
1 tablespoon parsley, (or corriander) handfull fresh sprigs, chopped
250 g dried couscous 1 pinch salt, to season 1 serving pepper, to season
Instructions- Season the chicken lightly. Heat the oil in a large heavy-based saucepan and brown the pieces quickly. Remove and stir in the chunky vegetables. Add 3 tablespoons of water and then cover the pan. Cook gently for 5 minutes until softened, shaking the pan occasionally.
- Stir in all the spices except the bay leaf. Cook for a minute and then add the bay leaf. Stir in the stock and add the lemon zest.
- Bring the stock to the boil, then season and cover. Simmer very gently for about 45 minutes until the meat is tender. Stir in the lemon juice.
- Meanwhile, soak and steam the couscous according to the pack instructions. Serve the chicken and vegetables on a bed of couscous with the parsley or coriander sprinkled on top.
Have a good sew, Tete!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

God, it just seems like so much work! I can barely focus on pouring the cereal on a morning, never mind weighing it! I liked doing low carb; no weighing things, no calorie counting, just keep an eye on carb values and eat as much as you like! The problem is that much organisation and preparation is needed and it costs a lot!
I've enclosed below a healthy daily food pyramid in case anyone isn't familiar with it. A 'diet' that keeps the weight off should follow this pyramid, just in smaller quantities.
The problem with low carb diets is they don't change your eating patterns to something you can stick with long term as they basically obliterate the mainstay of a healthy diet, which is why they are the worst for putting the weight back on afterwards. In order for the weight to come off and stay off you're going to have to start accounting for what you eat and keeping track of it, unless you never want to eat carbs again!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thanks Dinah
That's why I can cope with WW - basically I can eat what I want and enjoy as long as I count it. So I still have bread, potatoes, pasta, chocolate etc etc etc. I started WW a couple of months before Christmas at 15st 10 so it seems to work for me.
I've tried SW before and couldn't deal with red and green days (and more importantly couldn't work out if what I was eating counted as red or green on particular days (I clearly had SW blindness).
I could probably lose faster, but I tend to use all my points everyday!NR [STRIKE]£5542[/STRIKE]£2771 BC [STRIKE]£7987[/STRIKE]£7700 BC [STRIKE]£3000[/STRIKE]£5100 Cat1 Pd Cat2 Pd Ulstr [STRIKE]£3400[/STRIKE]£3070 TSB [STRIKE]£4851[/STRIKE]£4400 MBNA [STRIKE]£7700[/STRIKE]£3887 NWst [STRIKE]£950[/STRIKE] £700 Hfx [STRIKE]£10097[/STRIKE]£10050 Asda [STRIKE]£398[/STRIKE] £315 HFX1 Pd Hfx2 [STRIKE]£3133[/STRIKE] £3000

Thanks
You'll find it if you just type in Moroccan chicken in the recipes bit. I'm SO looking forward to it; been day dreaming about it all day...
Btw PA, well done on your pre-Christmas weight loss! Are you sticking to WW now? xLBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

Yes - but I go to a meeting as I do not have the willpower/conviction to get the weight off on my own:o I find that I really need to track the food each day (cos I can seriously lie to myself about what I 'haven't' eaten;))
I now have a points calculator on my iPhone and a points tracker and just pop the info on that through the day and complete the online tracker in the eveningNR [STRIKE]£5542[/STRIKE]£2771 BC [STRIKE]£7987[/STRIKE]£7700 BC [STRIKE]£3000[/STRIKE]£5100 Cat1 Pd Cat2 Pd Ulstr [STRIKE]£3400[/STRIKE]£3070 TSB [STRIKE]£4851[/STRIKE]£4400 MBNA [STRIKE]£7700[/STRIKE]£3887 NWst [STRIKE]£950[/STRIKE] £700 Hfx [STRIKE]£10097[/STRIKE]£10050 Asda [STRIKE]£398[/STRIKE] £315 HFX1 Pd Hfx2 [STRIKE]£3133[/STRIKE] £3000

Mums brought me a papaya because it was reduced to 10p - any ideas for nice things to do with it?!
Tea is a cumulative affair and will take me 300 cals over my target for the day, therefore after tea I'm going to do a whole hour of weights after dinner to break me even again. I'm actually really liking the weights at the moment.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
