Aye I figured fessing up always makes me feel guilty if I go off the rails! Plus more importantly it might give other people ideas of what they can eat. Hoping to be back at sewing next week Tete.

Anyone know if snacking on dried fruit is ok? Helps when youre drinking so much water to have something sweet IYKWIM as a treat.

  • Well it's better than snacking on chocolate! But I think it depends on what 'plan' you're following - sometimes things like that are 'free' aren't they? But if you just calorie count like I do I guess you have to watch how many calories are in the various types. Sorry that's not a very definitive answer is it?!

Like Tete I just calorie count, and therefore its just a case of working it into the daily allowance. Dried fruit does have a lot of sugar in it, and isn't overly filling, so it is better to have real fruit like an apple, watermellon or a banana if you need to stop your tummy grumbling. Try taking strips of pepper or carrot or cucumber in a little snack pot with you to much on as these are very very low in fat, sugar, and calories. Another good thing to snack on is no added sugar jelly, its usually around 12-15 cals for the little pot, or if you make your own you can throw a few berries in there too. If you want a sweet treat at home try making your own ice lollies with no added sugar hi juice (diluted a bit stronger than you'd have it in a glass) - all the sweetness and less than 20 cals a lolly :D

  • Confessions:eek:

    Okay. Here goes:o

Breakfast was Oatsosimple 1.5 WW points (with milk from daily allowance for tea and breakfast of 1/4 pint = 1 WW point)

Lunch was 2 fried eggs on toast 6.5 WW points

So total so far today = 9 points.

  • I have just watched one of those smoking patch adverts as I typed my last response and thinking about weight watching I wondered if I could invent a diet patch that infused the bloodstream with the same sensation and good feel that you get when eating chocolate.

The benefits on my invention would be two fold. It would

    1. clear my debt (see I do have my priorities in the right order now;))
    2. sort out my weight problem
The main problem is I just haven't a clue how to do this:rotfl:

Good idea PA, let us know how the trials go!

My confessions: Breakfast- bowl of shreddies (well, 'Malties', we're not made of money!). 2 cups of coffee, 1 Cadbury's Festive Friend biscuit (you know, the ones the size of a 10 coin). Lunch - Chicken breast in tomato and pepper sauce with 3 small boiled potatoes. No idea what all that comes up to!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • Get yourself on Dragons' Den PA!! :D

Birdie, you need a way of quantifying what you eat - whether it's calories or WW points or a SW plan or whatever, otherwise you might think you're eating healthily but somethings aren't that good for you - like nuts for instance are full of calories and I'd avoid them, but I think they might be OK on the SW diet? Correct me if I'm wrong - on the days when you eat meat and protein? You also need to look at portions - most cereals are about 130 cals, per 40g bowl, but a 40g bowl is tiny - you have to know how much you're eating of stuff.

:o sorry I feel like a big preacher there, but these are just things I've learnt since starting last July. Food Focus really helps because you're not just blindly and half heartedly 'trying to eat more healthily'.

    Will do!

My main concern is that I may, just MAY, have to go through a fair bit of real chocolate to ensure the patches have the same effect....so I am sure my fellow members of the wibbly bums group will understand and SUPPORT me [STRIKE]when[/STRIKE] if I don't lose weight each weigh in day:rotfl: It's all in the cause of science and research;)
