i'm looking for advice and not criticism please?, i felt pressured into commiting a crime what do i do?

went for a weekly visit to my MIL's shes got divorced and couldn't get any financial help from money lenders unless the family gave up rights to the property, when i got to MIL's she gave me a piece of paper and pressured me into signing it as relatives. i didnt know what the form was as i am mental unstable, once form was completed i thought nothing of it and MIL told me she had planned it for months and chose me because of my state of mind, how would i stand if i went and admited this to my solicitor.

recently my family have had contact of solictor regarding this as it is there name that was used, i feel like a fool, i really dont know what to do, the police are involved and my MIL SAYS SHE WILL DO ANYTHING TO PROTECT HERSELF.

I DIDNT MEAN TO HURT ANYONE, I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS GETTING MYSELF INVOLVED IN.

I HAVE A YOUNG FAMILY AND DON'T WANT TO LOOSE THEM, ANY HELP WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

btw my wife was not involved or had anything to do with it i was singled out

From what you are saying the police already know you did something fraudulently so the best thing would be to tell the truth exactly as it happened... your state of mind can maybe be verified by your GP.. it sounds like your MIL is going to lie so owning up before you are accused could help you... sorry I am not much more help , good luck

Thanks for that, I know i will lose my side of the family. My GP knows that i am having problems with my mind. I was on strong medication but now the dose has been upgraded for it and now im worried that when i go to the police they will look at me and throw away the key as my MIL has a well respected job but me i live in private rented accommodation and do not work

How about going to your GP first and explaining whats happened then go and make a statement to the police , it will be so much better if you go rather than they come and find you..

I signed a document with 2 peoples signatures which i know is wrong but i keep having nervous breakdowns. I know that is not an excuse but i am really sorry for what i have done and i shake at the thought of my MIL. I am really scared of her.

this has got to be a wind up. if not then I am sorry. if you didnt sign the form in front of a solicitor then who can prove that it was you? If you knew that you were doing wrong at the time then you can only blame yourself . If you say you had mental health issues then your doctor will verify this . As for mental breakdowns , half the population had these when thatcher told the people to get on their bikes, the other half had them when Brown took over from Blair .
old enough for my bones to feel the cold .

Trust me it is not a wind up. This is really serious. This problem is over £750000 worth of trouble. My doctor Will be able to verify my state of mind.

If i wanted a politics lecture i would have gone to downing st!

    There is always one.

BTW i forgot to say that im dyslexic and have problems reading. My wife is typing all this for me.

The solicitor is going to ask for a handwriting test thats why im worried as well.
