Hi when will it end.
DH has an appt with psycologist sometime this week. He is keeping a brave face and always smiling etc. There is something bothering him. Not sure what it is but since speaking to his sol last week he told me he does not want the police or cps or anyone to think he has a problem as he wants to be treated fairly. His sol won't speak to me as I am not his client.
Just a bit worried about him as I think DH is a ticking time bomb. As I said he is laughing and joking etc but it don't seem real iygwim?0 -

Helpmeplease. Please go and see your doctor or a mental health worker if you have one as soon as possible.
There are many types of mental illness which will impair judgement. From mild to very severe.
A mental health assessment should be your first port of call. A doctor or mental heath worker will then help you cope with whatever you are facing or finding difficult. Explain to you doctor exactly what has happened and what the problem is. (I have not read everyting on this item as it is very long, but you do explain very clearly at the beginning that their are some mental health issues. So go and get some proper support. Not just that of a forum)0 -
I would be concerned about his behaviour, he sounds like a "smiling depressive" and you may well be right when you describe him as a ticking timebomb. Can you phone or write to his CPN / psychologist and inform them of his behaviour?
Without wishing to alarm, look out for behaviour that may be seen as putting his affairs in order, eg, giving away possessions, tidying loose ends, visiting old friends relatives, making a will etc.0 -
i am a smiling depressive (i like that phrase)
but when the ticking stops and i explode its end of for me for a few days or weeks
i withdraw from life its self dont talk either sleep continuously or not at all dont eat dont go out the dont's go on and on
then the black hole swallows me whole and i start thinking whats the point at all!
please please get your OH some help now before its really to late
he does not have to plead guilty on diminished resposability or how ever it goes but he needs the right support there for if he ends up in prison0 -
Only really skimmed over the thread, but i wouldn't worry too much, if and i mean if he gets a prison sentence, i doubt it'll be very long either way iit should be under 4 years in which case he will be valid for "tag" which knocks off 135 days, ignore what you've seen/read about prison most of it will be wrong.
Plus he'll go for a pre-sentence report which will highlight all his problems to the court/judge, so don't worry too much.
As long as he hasn't benefited from the fraud and this is the the first silly thing he has done then the cps shouldn't come after him under the 2002 poca act.
Prison isn't all that bad, to be honest it's mostly boring, i was released on tag last September after serving nearly 18 months for money laundering.
Most probably be going back for another 10 months in around ~6 months because of a confiscation order, but that's another story.
Heck i was in a open prison for the last 9 months, going home every 4 weeks and at weekends.0 -

i do not think this helps the OP at all, its obvious that the husband has MH issues that may mean he will not cope or find prison to be the boring place you discribe, or find it as much of a walk over as you did, being on tag or being sent to an open prison will still effect this person tremendously and the situation needs to monitored for his own health and safety0 -

I know this isn't going to be what you want to hear.... not only has your husband been silly to get himself into this mess but he continues to be silly by not defending himself, where's the honour in that?
I don't know exactly what goes on in these circumstances but l presume his solicitor is going to have to prepare some sort of mitigation including your hubbys state of mind. What if he also plays it down???
In your shoes l'd be demanding to go to the solicitors with your hubby and finding everything out. Wanting to be treated 'fairly' is frankly ridiculous if he doesn't want you all to suffer. He needs to get a grip on this and if he won't do it make it your business to.
Does he realise there aren't any prizes for going to jail?
Happy moneysaving all.0
