A pack of mini chicken breast fillets in breadcrumbs (uber reduction at 20p), mash (Aldi spuds, 20p), last of the frozen peas (20p), cheese sauce (30p). Total cost 90p, served three.
  • venison burgers (50p each from butcher) in home made flat bread, with salad and home made mint dressing (natural yoghurt with mint sauce stirred in!) very cheap, and was all already in my cupboards and freezer!

Macaroni cheese. Not fantastically money saving, but it was topped with breadcrumbs made from leftover bread, the flour in the white sauce was cheap own brand stuff, and the cheese was bought on offer. I would estimate it cost about £2 but there's enough left for both our lunches tomorrow.

It was my husband's first ever go at making a white sauce and he did very well :D

Duck breasts which I took out of the freezer for yesterdays dinner but then MIL took us out to lunch so we only had cheese and biscuits in the evening.

I was dithering about whether to take them out of the freezer yesterday morning in case we did have a big lunch at MILs but DH talked me into it.At least they were on offer.

Delicious slow cooked steak, potatoes and beans followed by jelly, ice-cream and cream. Dinner at grans so it didn't cost me a penny and in fact I can home with leftovers!

We had risotto, with left over chicken and left over sweetcorn, some peppers and mushrooms which needed using up - and rice which I always have in the cupboard.

It made lots, and little one ate the lot including all his vegatables and I made enough for lunch tomorrow for me to take to work too

    xx
