    SAUSAGE SKILLET

4 slices bread - crusts removed (preferably day old)
    40g / 1½ oz butter
4 cooked sausages - sliced diagonally
    sliced mushrooms
½ an onion diced and fried
    2 large eggs
    300ml /½ pint milk
    salt and pepper
    ½ tsp mustard
    grated cheese

    1. Butter the bread on one side and cut each slice into 4 triangles
    2. Layer the bread in a dish and put onions, sausages and mushrooms in between each layer
    3. whisk the eggs and milk together with the mustard and salt and pepper
    4. Strain the egg and milk mix over the pudding and leave in the fridge for half an hour
    5. Heat the oven to 180c/fan 170c/gas 4
    6. sprinkle with cheese and bake in the oven for 25 - 30 mins until set and golden
    serve hot

you can use any filling you like such as bacon, tomatoes, leftover meat from a roast (beef is nice) etc

    Hello all :-)
My aim for this week is to plan not only tea, but to make enough that DH and I can take leftovers for lunch too. This is where a silly amount of our money is going too.
    So we are having:
    Sunday
Breaded fish, oven chips and peas
    Monday
Grilled pork steak, couscous with leftover veggies and chilli
    Tuesday
    Tuna pasta bake
    Wednesday
Chicken pie, new pots, brocolli and carrots
    Thursday
Savoury mince, new pots and veggies
    Friday
    Spag bol
Hoping to make both minced beef dishes on Wednesday (my day off)

Have a lovely week everyone x

Well still on the emptying the freezer cupboard meal plan until mid feb, we are eating good meals every day and there doesn't even seem ot be a dent in the freezer. So far this month I have spent £27.56, Veg milk eggs etc but not including alcohol, £5.78 was for a huge leg of pork that will do roasts and sandwiches etc - couldn't resist it.

Sat 16 - Spicy Prawn cocktail,Roast Beef, Yorkies, roast pots, caulifolower cheese, broccoli, carrots, honey roast parsnips, green beans, apple crumble and cream. (Had friends round for the evening)
Sun - Made some sausage rolls, bacon and cheese , Cheese and onion pasties and various mini quiches (stilton and mushroom, plain cheese, cheese and peppers and cheese and onion, rolls from breadmaker, so girls have just been picking as they have been out all day and dont fancy another big meal after last night.
Mon - Steak and ale pie, roast pots, broccoli and cauliflower cheese, leftover crumble from sat.
Tues - Steamed chicken and new potaotes with something green
    Wed - Scampi and chips
Thurs - Sausages and potatoes dauphinose
    Fri - Spagetti Bolognese

Breakfast is cereal for girls, maybe toast for me if I have time and lunches will be a combination of filled rolls, soup from freezer and stuff I baked today
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.
  • Meal plan in before Monday :D Yay! Am really trying to not go over budget this month, so am using lots of bits from the freezer and store cupboard so hopefully my shop should come in at around £20. Fingers crossed!

Monday - Shepherds Pie and Veg using mince in a tomato sauce thats in the freezer.
Tuesday - Slow cooker chicken thigh curry and rice
Wednesday - Spag Bol using more freezer mince
Thursday - HM Creamy chicken soup and crusty bread
Friday - Haddock in a creamy sauce, new poatoes and veg
Saturday - Tomato Pasta and garlic bread
Sunday - Slow cooker cassarole using whoopsied casserole steak in the freezer.

Should just need to get chicken thighs and veg and odd bits for lunches in this week hopefully!
