Grrrrrrr - don't rush jobs, it costs you money!!

After having had DS2's blackout blind standing in a corner of his room for 12 months, I decided to fit it. Brackets were already up so I just needed to shorten the pole and cut the material to size. I measured ever so carefully, and took off the required length to make sure the pole fit between the brackets. Nearly had a mishap when I almost cut the material 10 centimetres narrower than the pole before double checking it said 10 millimetres.

Pity I didn't do that before I cut the pole!! I even circled the bit on the instructions that said 18 MILLIMETRES.......... it's now over 16 centimetres too narrow. At least I can cut it down to fit the spare room window, but at nearly £60, it was an expensive mistake!!

bu99er, is all I can say (although I did mutter something along the lines of "oh darn, I appear to have made this very expensive blind a tad too narrow")

Ticklemouse it's late and I've drunk a fair amount of wine, so I may be reading this totally wrongly ... but if you've cut the pole the wrong length .. then John Lewis sell roller blind kits for £14

Woke up, felt fantastic.....about 20 minutes later promptly threw up. So much for being over the sicky stage. Bean must be objecting to its mum having a good night's sleep. And now of course I feel absolutely awful.

Only got 1 more week and work before I can have a whole week off. Oh boy am I looking forward to it. We will have a couple of teenagers around, but right now I'm not in the mood for any nonsense...so there'll be no holes barred this summer.

House was given a good spring clean over the weekend, so there's nothing really to do except put some washing on at some point.

Tea is going to be jacket potato

Last week at school for the kids, so DH and I are having a day to ourselves (It's a day off for both of us). Going to the war museum in Manchester, will be strange not looking around to see what the ankle-biters are doing. Have absolutely no idea what's for tea - depends what time we get back and whether my mum has provided anything for the kids.
Hope you all have a good day,

Morning Ageandjo, Soba, Rchddap and Ancasta!. And GM to all who follow!

2 more days off w***, but will be very busy getting ready for my holiday. We're off on Sunday, and boy do I need some time off.

DD went off on an overnight coach to France on a trip with school for the week. Bet she didn't get much sleep. She told me not to worry about her, but I said it was me I was worried about. She's very good company, so will miss her loads.

Chicks are now living outside happily. They have a liking for nettles, some of which grow around their pen, in the hedge. They've grown really quickly. They have a separate pen in the corner of our main chicken run, but escaped on Saturday and got in with the big girls. Every other time that we've introduced new hens, the existing ones have shown the new ones who's boss. Not in this case - they got on pretty well. I'm wondering if this means the chicks are cockerells, and the existing hens know there'll be payback if they pull rank.

    Must Fly Lady!

See you all later, Penny. x

    Morning Guys

Unsettled night here again last night, but im still here so cant complain!

WM is on and clothes will be hung outside. DW was only emptied last night and toilet has been cleaned. House generally clean and tidy so no worries there.
Have 2 hospital visits to do today:eek:....one locally the other up Kings again!

We had a nice afternoon and evening and I spoke with my BIL and got everything cleared up and they didnt leave till 9'ish:rolleyes: ....so much for an early night.

Have got to chase up my letter from the GP to back up my claim for DLA to be increased and have already received one from my OT which is excellent! May fill in some more of the form later as they have to be sent in by then end of July, so if I fill in as much as possible now it will save rushing next week before I have to send them...IYSWIM.

DD's lunch is done and have made her up 2 fresh chicken and cucumer rolls-which she loves, 3 pieces of fruit, low fat crisps and a HM biccie:rolleyes:

Anyway, Id best be off as I have to get ready and can just about move this morning.

Breakfast: HM Roll, butter & Jam
    Lunch: Chicken, rice salad
Dinner: Chicken, Baked spud and salad..not too sure yet

    Hugs to all.

rchddap - hope the nausea eases up soon. I found it important not to skip meals and eat little and often to keep nausea away - not always easy when there's 101 things to do!

Ageanjo - cheers hun, you always remind me to take my tabs! Just realised I'm sniffing and rubbing my eyes already!

Morning also to anacasta, soba, pen pen and all who follow/cross post

Going to whizz round and do a 'house blessing' today and then may go browsing a garden center. Began the mamoth task of putting up a new fence in the garden. It's only a small fence - but it took several hours of VERY hard labour to get just one post support in. Discovered that under the soil was a couple of feet of concrete and then another of rubble! No wonder I couldn't hammer it in!
Anyway, on the plus side it does mean that I'm going to have a bit of 'planting' space for some herbs - but I have to prep it so need a 'sifter' to help sort the stones from the soil- and another browse at their lovely plants while I'm there won't go amiss :D

Hope you all have a lovely day,
    Hugs

    Good morning everyone,

Didnt sleep very well last night, wish i could blame the weather, but im never a brilliant sleeper, to much is going through my mind when i should be sleeping and ive tried all sorts but still cant sleep!!!!
Never mind, only have 2 little ones here today, so think i will start by taking them to the park, before coming home and letting them watch a dvd i think, its going to be so hot today, and this afternoon its DS and DDs sports day, so we will be outside all afternoon, so want to keep them refreshed so i dont have to many problems!!!!! The main one will be keeping them on the mat, and not sprinting off to see DS and DD whilst they are running!!!!! This is the first year im taking them, now they are 3 1/2 (ive looked after both of them since they were 5 months old) im hoping they will behave for me, but they normally do and i think they will enjoy it, will get them to cheer on the green team and they might even join in with the toddler race!!!! Unfortunatly, having 2 little ones with me means i wont be able to take part in the mums race, mind you, some of the parents are so competative i wouldnt have any chance, im in the 'i dont care, id rather have a laugh' group!!!!!
Right, first one due any minute, ive already got the WM on, DW emptied and packed lunches made, just want to help DD with her sun lotion, they will be outside all day, so better be safe than sorry!!!!
    Have a lovely day everyone
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
