    Good Morning everybody,
I was very virtuous last night and instead of slumping exhausted in front of the t.v. after my swim I tackled the ironing pile that I had been ignoring for a week.So this morning I feel great that I haven't got to face that at least. I have the central heating chap coming this morning to service the back boiler. At least I know he will turn up.In the medway area our local council run a 'Fairtraders List' and all the tradesmen on the list have to abide by it's rules. They are quite strict about punctuality and giving quotes etc I have used firms before from the list and found them excellent .
Then I am going to put a chicken on to slow roast, as my friend is visiting tomorrow from Dartford, so I thought a chicken salad would be nice for lunch .The tempretures are expected to climb to around 33c so I don't want to be doing a lot of cooking then. I shall probably toddle off for a swim whilst the chookie is cooking and have a late lunch afterwards in the restaraunt as it's got air-con and some nice deep armchairs to relax in afterwards. I can take my libray book and have a pleasant afternoon having a read in comfort. My health club is my one luxury that I don't mind paying for as I do use it quite a bit. I hope everyone has a good day as I know some of you have to work. I can't imagine how uncomfortable it will be for you but hopefully this excessive heat won't last too long. I like to see the sun but when it gets too hot then it's not nice .Around 70f is about right.
Kent is becomeing very arid because of the water shortage.I have stopped trying to do much with my garden as it's rock-hard and I can't use the hose anyway. I have a few tubs of colour that I water with washing up water.
The lawn I have given up on, and it's a haven for any passing wild life.
I do remember to put out a bowl of water for the birds though and I have a blackbird that comes every morning for a wash and brush-up on the patio.
Well time to jump in the shower have a good day everyone

    Good morning everyone,

A bad nights sleep here too, but not because of the heat, just because im not a good sleeper anyway!!!! Have a busy day here today, 3 little ones, but they are normally fine together and if we have any problems, Dora or Toy Story normally help!!!!! Had hoped to take them down the park this morning (they loved it on Friday) but it looks like it could rain at any minute, so think we might do some baking instead.
Managed to get to the moors yesterday, had been there about 1 1/2 hours when the rain came, and boy, did it tip down (reminded me of the rain in Florida!!!!) it was that fast and heavy!!!! So a mad dash to get the bikes into the car and back home we came to finish our picnic here. DS and DD got out for a bit longer, until the rain followed us back here.
Right, need to get DD out of bed, DS is up already and playing with my first little one.

Mushy peas - hope today goes ok at work, your work mate sounds horrible, i agree with Snowy owl, dont let them bully you, hopefully you will get the job and show them!!!!!

Shez - GOOD LUCK with your first day, hope it goes well.

PP - glad you are feeling a bit better, hope your DD is feeling ok too.

(((HUGS))) to anyone who needs or wants one
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Morning all, it's baking here already.

MP Good luck for your interview today!

Nothing much going on in the house of mogs today, DH seems to be getting worse not better but he wants to go into town today, one of us has to go as we have a cheque to pay in but I think it's more likely to be me :(

DD has her first sports day today, she is gutted as she's finally found something she is rubbish at :D I keep telling her she can't be good at everything but as she is only 5 she finds that hard to understand. She can't be a complete boffin and be an athlete too :D

I have decided I am doing absolutely nothing until it starts to get cooler tonight, the heat really does not agree with me, my face was so red when I got to the barbecue yesterday I had to lie and say I'd had a touch of sun.

Rchddap, when's your baby due? Took me back to when I was pregnant! Hope you get what you're after today.

I'm due at the end of November...unless they change the date at the scan tomorrow of course. So far things have been going well, but I didn't like heat too much anyway, and in my current state I can't stand it. Went into boots at the weekend and had to come straight out again as it was so hot.

The scan isn't until tomorrow....but I can't stop thinking about it. OH is worried that they'll find something wrong. I'm just worried about going to the loo (all that water I've got to drink).

Morning all....(((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))) to those who need them.......

I slept quite well last night once I got comforable, I put the fan on in the bedroom again for an hour, before we went up, so it was cooler, the sun is off the bedroom in the afternoon but it seems to hold the heat........no much air either.

OH has gone off to do a little job for a friend, went early so he is not out in the worst of the sun, its to be hotter today than yesterday, I have a curyain on the front door which is lines withthermal linings, I draw that across the door, it helps to keep the heat out when the sun is shining on the door..... the house was nice and cool yesterday afternoon.........

I have just finished cleaning the bedroom and bathroom, am about to do the sitting room, the kitchen will have to wait until later, will then sit in the back garden for a while and cool down, I always sweat buckets when I have to heft the sofa etc around to clean underneath.........

Cold chicken and salad for supper tonight, with home grown strawberries and cream, we have been picking rasps as well, but they are going into the freezer against less fruitier times!!!!!

    Have a good day......................

    Morning everyone :j

First day of the holiday here, six long weeks but dd has organised herself some work experience at the private nursery she used to go to so that should make up her mind one way or another if thats the route she decides to take.

Its been interesting reading about the kids having "taster" days at their High Schools. We have a great system in place for the kids moving up where loads of activities are in place for them in June to let them meet up with their new class mates including a disco and an activity camp for a few days so they can meet with the pupils from the other primary schools that feed into the high school. The last meeting that parents have at the school includes the kids and we were split into groups and taken round several areas of the school such as the science lab and the "new" pupils from last year demonstrated experiments which really enthused the kids for science as they made things explode :) I also remember our group visiting the English department and the pupils put on a short play.

School sweat-shirts and polo shirts are available to buy at this meeting while we have coffee and so the kids have their uniform ready for their "taster week" which follows in a week or so. All classes move into the next year in June and the new entrants go to the High School for a week going in slightly later and leaving a bit early so they aren't overwhelmed by the full force of all the bigger pupils who know exactly where they are going.

The school leavers provide a buddy system for this week and make sure that they can find their way about the school and most importantly find out where to get lunch.

catowen, we had a thunder storm in the middle of the afternoon yesterday with rain just like the Florida rain. Fortunately it dried up as quick as the rain in Florida too :)

    Morning all

Blimey, warm or what!!! Just doing the school run has left me in want of another shower.

Only one little one here this morning, he's just about to go for a nap as he's been up since 5am with the heat....he didn't go to bed until gone 10pm either so I've been told to let him sleep as long as he likes this morning...means I can get some bits done...maybe the ironing before the sun moves to the back of the house.

Got to feed 5 kids tonight before they all go home, something easy like pasta and salad I think.

Going for another swim tonight, I've really got back into it in a big way, helps that they open the back doors which face the beach, the sea breeze blowing in across the pool is lovely.

Anyway - have a good one all.

    Hiya

Had a nice time away at the weekend. Got back late yesterday afternoon. Had easy tea, showered & both DH & I hit the sack. Had to take the car in for a service today and while out and about got 2 quotes for our kitchen. It's a start anyway.

DH's re-union was good. The meal was nice. Photo's haven't been put on the computer yet so I may post one later in the week. I haven't read the threads for a few days so will go and catch up now.

Hope you all have a nice day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
