lucky you essex-girl with no hosepipe ban there!

cha97michelle - if you have had yr rubella jab when younger you should be ok, although its still not wise to be near measles. feel for all you ladies being pregnant at this time with the heat, stuff that for a laugh, its bad enuff with all that extra weight at the best of time.

rchddap1 - what pattern have you worked out about bump??

All i know is when i carried the boys, i just had bump in front, but when i had my dd, i carried all round and put on so much more weight (that still trying to get rid off) and got a very very sweet tooth and ate more sweety things - well they do say "Sugar and Spice and all things nice" dont they?

    Evening all :hello:

Mushypeas - how did the interview go?

Shez - I could help you do the job if you wanted? :D

I had the day from hell today. We've had observations from the LEA, needless to say when the woman walked into my classroom it was pushing boiling, sweat was pouring off my face. Little cherub of a child said "Miss A, you're sweating". Thanks for pointing it out to me!!!! The children were up the wall, it wasn't the best topic to be teaching............. what I'm trying to say is that the lesson bombed! Aah well. That put me in a sh*te frame for the rest of the (boiling hot) day in the classroom. The other teachers have tried to be incredibly sympathetic and helpful, but it still doesn't account for the terrible time that I had for 30 mins.............

I popped into the Co-op on the way home and have now got some tonic chilling in the fridge, reading for G&T later! OH is picking up some lettuce and we'll be having a yummy salad for supper. I'd better put the washing out first, then put another load on. I'll probably do some marking whilst sitting out the back.

    See you later

    Hello everyone

Ah what a horrible day! Nothing in particular happened but I have been so low, it's unreal. Couldn't wait to get out of the office and get home. I'm avoiding the duvet as I have a mad impulse just to hide under it.

Shez, about your new job, I'd say give it three months before you make your mind up about it - this was only day one and probably not a normal day. If in a few weeks time it becomes apparent that you really don't have anything to do then you could suggest flexi-time, working from home, working three full days instead of five short ones...or if you decide it's seriously not for you then you've got an office to yourself to organise more interviews! Don't give up yet Shez! BTW Shez, how's your OH these days?

And BTW everyone..I've met Shez, and believe me she has a fabulous figure already!

Teresita...hmm, that's a naughty OH you've got there (bet you've told him so already but without using the word "naughty"). You could rearrange your meal plans for the rest of the month so that he has beans on toast, egg on toast, spaghetti on toast, butter on toast, cheese on toast, Marmite on toast, or toast on its own for every outstanding meal. That'd even things up a tad :rotfl:.

Aussielass, welcome back dearie! Glad you had a good weekend, with no yappy dogs to listen to. Look forward to seeing some snaps of hunky aussie men.

Over here in NI it's nowhere near as hot as in England (sorry!) - but when I lived in London in this heat I used to go outside and iron in the shade. (I used to iron, ha ha what crazy memories!!) Barking mad possibly but at least the heat from the iron had somewhere to go other than into my face. Other tips for staying cool? At home I'd keep cold wet facecloths handy to rub on my fevered brow. Not what you'd call sexy but then neither is a purple face. Someone on another thread somewhere mentioned a thing called a Chillow (google it!) but I should imagine a hotwater bottle full of cold water, left in the fridge for a while, then wrapped in a towel and applied to the back of the neck might work as well.

I'm off for a walk now, see you all later.

twink - wmf is the make of the pressure cooker. It's german, they do lots of cutlery and pans and that type of thing. I believe, for a small pressure cooker, it was ridiculously expensive (£100+?) I wouldn't have paid that much for a pressure cooker, but then, I didn't buy it :D I'd just like to be able to keep on using it, by having a gasket that seals :)

    Back again.

Well i'm chilling out a bit now.

The Dr rang back, twice. He even rang a consultant at the hospital for me, and then i managed to get in touch with my ma and found out i had had measles as a kid anyway, although no vaccine, so the risk to me and little pud is minimal. I think it will probably be ok.

I've got my planning done, but not my marking, so i'll just hide the books that i didn't get done in the cupboard until i have seen the inspector. ;) I'm certainly not stressing.

vicky chin up. You probably felt that was the worst lesson ever, but remember you are an NQT, it is a rubbish time of year for an inspection, and you tried. It can only get better, and bad lessons happen to the best teachers. If it helps, i'm expecting a shocker if OFSTED do come in. I've 2 y 10 groups that i haven't seen for three weeks because of work experience, although we are fielding an unsporty team at a local competition based upon y9 and 10. Don't know if we'll get asked back next year. ;)

shez sounds like you are onto a good job there. don't chuck it in too quickly without a good chat with the guy first. It will all seem more realistic after at least a couple of weeks. Oh- totally agree with you about the shape of the bump. Mine is completely on my belly, and it's definitely a boy. It's like an egg shape with the narrow bit at the frony IYKWIM.

Well, DH has had all the doors and windows open in an attempt to cool the house. The cats were doing a circuit of out the patio doors, back in through the kitchen, and it amused them for quite a bit.

I'm going to have a bit of a read and then try to sleep so i can at least look fresh at the start of the day.

    Hugs,
    Michelle, xx
