Good morning everyone,
It's freezing here this morning. Just having my morning cuppa as usual. DH is again snoring.
This is his last week at night shift for a while, starts day shift on Monday. My plans for today are cleaning the house, laundry & ironing. Gonna put a chookie in the SC for tea tonight.
Snowy No hunky men at the re-union. I scanned the room when I got there.:D DH was the best on offer. :rotfl:
Shez I'd do what Snowy suggested and stick in out a wee bit longer. DD hated her new job the first week but by the second they had given her more work so she liked it better.
I suppose I better get going and start my chores. Might have a bit of a surf first although the site is reallly slow for me atm. Catch you all tonight.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
I've been for my walk - did about three miles up and down hills. It was really nice, just pleasantly warm with a breeze coming in from the Irish sea. AussieLass, oh dear, what a shame about the lack of beefcake at the do but thanks for being so thoughtful and kind and having a look on my behalf:p. Have a lovely day, hope you get warmed up.
I made some muffins after my walk, and managed to bake them without setting off the smoke alarms. They are very well done indeed, but not actually burnt hurray:T! I've had two and they didn't break my teeth so they won't be hitting the bin. The last lot were in the end beyond salvation, they were too badly charred, like balls of crunchy embers from the fire. That post about burnt food gave me the w!llies too so I thought better to get rid than encourage the big C. What a waste of ingredients, but serves me right for being so unbrunette.
Remember I was up at 5.30 am? Well, I pottered around for a while then at about 8.00 am decided I'd just lie down for 15 minutes. The inevitable happened and I dozed off, ended up late for w***. Ahhh, they think I am a right lazy cow - if only they knew the bother I have getting a good night's kip.0 -

what time of day is it down under?
its hot, heavy and airless here.. and apparently its going to get worse during the night, so it wouldnt surprise me if the first poster of tomorrows (or do i mean todays)thread will be in the wee hours, having a wee rant about how the darn heat is keeping them up

Well when I wrote that message it was around 7.30am. It's now midday.
about the heat. I usually have a moan when it get's hot over here too.
I hate it also & I should be use to it. It was on the news last night how it was 30 degrees over there atm. Bit of a heat wave in some parts.
I've had to endure 40+ before and it's a killer. Once it reaches 40 here the kids are sent home from school. But mainly now most schools have aircon. We were lucky to have a fan when we went. Some people really struggle with the heat. I suppose it's what you get use to it. I hate it but I can live with it IYKWIM.

Happy 4th July to any USA members!
Morning follks, looks like it's going to be another hottie one for most of us. We're still fairly cool here in N.Ireland though I have seen a fair few bright red hooters around so the sun is stronger than usual here too.
There isn't too much to report just yet, it being the middle of the night. I've really got to get myself back on track with Moggins' Flylady challenge. It has gone to pot unfortunately, though I'm making a bit of an effort to not let it go backwards to the utter chaos it was before.
I've got naughty kitties this morning...they want to go outside but I'm not letting them go out to murder the wildlife - so they are running up and down the stairs like they are possessed. What a racket two kitties can make though.
Right, I'm waffling - have a fabulous Tuesday everyone, and hope you manage to keep cool.

Morning Snowy Owl and everyone else
At work again:rolleyes: . It's boiling in this office already. I'm sure we could get an authority person in and we'd be sent home cos it's too hot in here.
Had a slimfast smoothie for brekkie, got it free thanks to slimfast sending me some coupons to try some of their new range. :money: Quite nice it is too.
Hoping to get out of here on time today as I need a nap before going out this evening. Car's in the garage so hoping that's not going to hurt too much
Hugs all roundComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Morning Peeps
Not a good night here last night. Hospital called to say that a couple of nurses are unwell, so to leave my infusion today and go in as normal Thursday:T  :j.....no needles today and its gonna be so hot too.
Hot here already, so OH has opened front and back windows and pulled the blinds down to keep sun out, but seems quite fresh so far, already hitting 82 degree though:eek:  He's also out watering the plants before it gets too hot.
DD's tester full day today at her new school. Shes already to go and she has made some cards with her mobile numnber, email and MSN details. So proud of her. Went to bed last night and she had made a card "to the best mum in the world", thanking me for explaining about periods and just being there for her and not being shocked by some of the questions she has been coming out with lately. If only you knew.....:p:eek:
WM will be going on later, DW needs to go on after breakie. SIL not here this week as on holiday, so OH has a few jobs to do this week. OH has some more studying to cram in this morning and his exam is tomorrow, thought it was today:o
Breakie: Fruit and yogurt
Lunch: Baked Spud, Salad and Ham
Dinner: Toad In Hole, Mash and Veg
Anyway, Im gonna go. Hugs to all.

Morning girls.
So far it is cooler here, so fingers crossed for me that my classroom might be cool for part of the day. I'm strangely not too nervous compared to other times we've had inspectors in. I suppose what will be will be, although it has to be fairly good as we want to come out of special measures.
I had a bit of a restless night from 4:30 onwards as we could hear some cats fighting outside, so we got up to see if it were our boys. It wasn't, but we encouraged them home anyway and into safety. No more big vet bills i say.
Scuzz - can you not try the water bottle with ice suggested on the keeping cool thread? I must say i am seriously tempted, although the kids would think i was a nutter. I might do it on a day when i'm not teaching much.
Snowy - i think you slept a bit better when you did the FLC from what you said in your posts. It might be worth a try.
PP - excellent that you don't have to sit around in the hospital in this weather. Although Thursday is supposed to be as hot. I needed the chuckle at your DD this morning. It always amuses me how grown up they feel on the first day of big school. There's still a way to go though isn't there.
Well have a peaceful day everyone. Good luck with the stay cool challenge. No doubt i'll pop in after school to let you all know if i got inspected, and generally destress.

Good morning Snowy, Scuzz, PP & everyone else,
Had a busy day in the house today. House is all nice and sparkling & washing & ironing up to date.My chookie smells delish. Will put the roast veg on shortly. Made jelly & custard for dessert with fruit. We are expecting a letter from the council any day now so every day I race up to the letter box in anticipation. And every day I'm dissappointed.
There's always tomorrow.
Snowy Do they not wear tops over in NI? I hope your hooters aren't red.
Scuzz Hope you get your nap & have a nice night out.
PP Good news it's no needles day. :T
Talk later. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Good Morning All:D
Sitting here with my cup of coffee trying to get some energy - had a cool bath but already am hot and sticky, problem is kitchen gets sun first thing and that is where I generally am till the kids go to school.
Didnt do much at all yesterday - ended up playing PS2 Singstar with DD & DS which was loads of fun - downside obviously is that got to work twice as hard today.
1 Load just finishing in wm and another 2 to go, ironing mountain also but priority for me today is office work. Luckily office is quite cool, so as soon as kids have gone to school will be in here with my nose to the grindstone with ironing to look forward to this afternoon!
SnowyOwl - I also need to get back on the flylady wagon hope it goes well for you.
Scuxzz - stay cool.
PP - Hope your DD enjoys herself today, mine has got hers next friday but most of her friends are going to the same school.
Cha97michelle - hope your day is better than yesterday!
Off now DD has just got up so will go and make her a cup of rosie.
Enjoy your day all.
L - hopefully being good and having tuna salad
D - pork belly strips with sage and onion stuffing, new pots and peas.0
