PP - glad the hospital went well. :D

I've been sat here for about 2 hours making OH's birthday pressie from me. "A little book of hugs" aka a homemade pocketmod (done on Word) with poems/inspirational stories from here (local radio station breakfast show presenter reads one out every Monday morning. Unfortunatley he hasn't uploaded todays yet which is one I wanted  ).

Edited to add: I've just found it here - it's all about golf balls, mayonaise jar and coffee. Might just print it out onto some paper and use it to make a card for him, or frame it as it's a little long to be trying to edit into the book :rotfl:

    Hi everyone!
Had a most excellent weekend and have also made more inroads into the jobs to be done. Over the Hedge was great [lots of morals as well] and hilarious and we had a fab time at the folk festival. Watched lots of morris teams whilst supping a Hobgoblin beer. Have also managed to make OH's birthday cake which is now in the freezer until I decorate it tomorrow, repaint the gate so OH can hang it again [took it down when the fence was redone], finished my Everest high ironing pile as well as all the usual shopping, washing etc etc.
So plans for today are wrap OH's presents and throw together a mushroom pilaf. And after that.....place my ample rump in a comfy armchair with a beverage of some description at my side, [sadly the wine well has run dry!] locate my cross stitch and watch twaddle on the box...or if it's too hot inside as above but outside and minus the twaddle on the box!!

Just logged into my online banking and I found 3 payments for Child Tax Credit  I knew nothing about them so I've just rang up and it turns out that since I changed OHs wages on the 26th (mix up with me using the wages on his wage packet instead of his P60 as I didn't know he had it  ) the computers have recalculated our (well mine, OH isn't entitled to anything;)) award and we're actually entitled to £945 a year which is £18.32 a week :j:j:j :T So I can breath easy again.

Major overspend on the grocery shopping though so I've just noticed. Need to sit down and work out where I am with it as I've gone to pot by the looks of it :rolleyes:

    Hi there folks

Well its melting here in South Yorkshire too. Been out in the garden with the kids and in the paddling pool but think they ahve had enough heat now and have brought them in the house.

Had a lovely day and Skegness yesterday. Walked round the market and a walk to the beach then home so no house work done and the house is now a tip. Need to get my finger out just have no energy.

OH decided to lay it on me we are having a BBQ tomorrow. Tells me after I have done the weekly shop and bought nothing for the BBQ  to which all his family are coming.

Well my weekly shop was on target (was on target lol) for my monthly budget but no way it will be now.

Have also just found out that will have no money coming in next month as my maternity allowance finished this month and I have to wait till 26th Aug for next holiday wage. Typical!!

Breakfast - Now went to get shopping
Lunch - ham and coleslaw sarnie
    Dinner - salad or pasta

    Bye for now

    Good Afternoon All:D

My its hot altho Im trying not to moan!! Been in the car mostly today which has air con but it really hits you when you get out. Had to run a couple of errands and get some of DD's bday pressies (need to get a couple more by the end of the week).

Since Ive been home have been just sitting around as couldnt face anything else but now feel a bit more energetic so will start think about dinner. OH DD & DS are in the garden trying to set up the above ground pool (luckily we dont have a hosepipe ban at the mo). We are careful about water usually and once its filled it shouldnt need topping up much then we empty it over the garden - the kids are really excited but I think have forgotten how long it takes to fill and how cold the water is at first.:rotfl:

Tonight will def do my ironing. Hopefully it will be cooler in the kitchen by then but it needs do no matter what. Tomorrow is an office day so may try to get up really early and do an hour or so before it gets too hot and anyone else gets up.

JackieO - The Fairtrader list is a really good idea - dont think we have got one around here.

    MushyPeas - Good Luck

Shez - hope it went well today

    Catowen - Love your avatar.

Ooh forgot to say that went to Makro today to get some bits and was very good and wasnt tempted by anything apart from some sweet peppers that were half price but the best bit was that when we left they gave us a large box of Ariel Washing Powder - I love freebies.

Anyway off now - enjoy the rest of your day!

    Hello everyone.

I've had a bit of a strange day today. It has certainly been mega hot, despite me having personal access to 2 fans and an AC unit, it still hit 30. Some of the kids were more interested in the sweat rolling off my nose than what i was trying to teach them. ;) ~Any excuse to get off task.

I didn't get done anywhere near as much as i wanted to before the dreaded OFSTED tomorrow and wednesday, and if it is hot like today, i won't have much chance as i'm actually going to be teaching an awful lot. I'm hanging on to the hope that they won't see me because of the pregnancy, and if they do come in i plan to stick my belly out and look really hormonal/tearful, so they won't dare say anything nasty.

I just wonder what is the best way to keep kids on task in 30 degree heat, when all they want to do is sleep?

The cats are currently out god knows where. I would like to be able to ring them and find out where they are as i'm sure they will need a drink, but i can't go out as i'm waiting for a phonecall from the dr. I got the delightful news that i have been exposed to measles, and i want a medical opinion. Of course i can't get hold of the midwife, so god only knows if i will get a response today. Needless to say, from a quick squizz on the internet, i am quite worried about it.

Sounds like we are all having a pretty similar day of trying to keep cool while completing our work/chores. Hope it is a bit cooler tonight so that i am nice and fresh to dazzle the inspectors. :rotfl:

Best go and actually start some work or i'll end up here working till midnight and i can't face that.

    Good afternoon all!:j

Thanks for all the good luck wishes on new job, am now back home from 1st day - well what can i say about it.......it was ok, bit strange really.
let me explain more - i originally turned down the job because i though it too good to be true - just thought it was secretary job in canary wharf, nice hours suited me, then they said at interview i would have to go for introduction to company in DUBAI (wow your thinking, so did i) but no way i could go with 2 young kiddies. anyway, they got someone else and the guy then contacted me saying my family could have gone too only they had to pay for flight only, everything else catered for - then felt stupid that i had let it go. anyway some while after he contacts me asks if i have found anything yet, i met him again and he offered me job again, saying that person he had taken on wasnt very good. I felt bad about putting someone else out of a job, but thought well its come up again maybe its meant to be.

So i start today, I do one letter, set up voicemail, not much else. He has a bad back and then says he is going to go home, leaves me the key to office to lock up etc.

I am now wondering if I will have enough to do otherwise i will get bored, especially as i will be in office on my own most of time anyway?
He seems so laid back and im not sure what i am meant to be doing? IYKWIM?

In one respect its great, nice new office, toilets, kitchen, lovely location canary wharf buzzing at lunchtime etc, shops, not working my butt off to the bone for nought - BUT will i get bored and lonely??

All i can do is give it a try this week and see - if i do decide to not do it i will feel bad because he's a very nice man so dont want to let him down especially as he has got rid of someone else for me - HELP:confused: all seems abit strange and dont know what to think.

    sorry to go on chaps.

penpen - love the chick avatar
catowen - love the dolphin avatar
mushypeas - not sure whats happening with you as i havent read yesterdays thread, guessing something at work not good?
nuttyrockeress - way to go on losing 15lbs!!!:T god yr putting me to shame.

    FEELING HOT HOT HOT!!!
