Well it's been a great day today I took two of my Grandsons to an auction and I bought the eldest a set of golf clubs and a golf bag for £2.00 !! the 10 year old had an electric scooter that he was longing for for £12.00 and I treated myself to a TEC digital camcorder for £72.00 altogether with the commission it came to £101 .00 and I am absolutely delighted . The camcorder is priced normally at £260.00 .
The auction is stolen/recovered good from Kent police so I am a very happy old duck tonight. I am off to the Isle of Wight in a fortnight so the camcorder will be really useful.
It is blistering hot still here in Kent and it's supposed to get even hotter mid-week. I'm off to have a swim at the lesuire club as it's got air-con in there .
Mmm I wonder if they would notice if I stayed overnight there
    Have a good week folks

    Evening all

    Enjoy your swim JackieO.

PP - Awwww bless your daughter, I was an early starter too, I can sympathise with her.

I would give hugs all round but it's still so warm.

We were supposed to go to a friend BBQ but DD really didn't feel up to it after yesterdays puke fest...(sorry). Instead the kids lay in the hall, reading, playing, sorting out my jewelery box with the back, side and front door open, quite a nice breeze.

I had a productive day, call me mad but I steam cleaned all the hard floors, the bathroom and all the mattresses (again), hubbies suits, all the curtains and nets, pillows and winter duvets....(yes - only just taking them off)...got the summer duvets out of hibernation and let them have all day on the washing line airing. All the beds are now freshly made and spritzed with orange oil to make them smell yummy fresh.

The washing was drying within half an hour so it's all done, folded and put away/in the ironing basket. I feel quite virtuous....helps that I'm not a sun lover and really don't want to be out in it when it's that hot.

Popped to the health club earlier for a swim - DD1 sat and watched, got my 24 lengths done (that's the 5th time I've been this week - getting my monies worth).

Had a lovely picky lunch of all the things I'd made to take to the BBQ, chicken and sweetcorn pasta salad, a chilled tomato and pasta salad, potato salad etc....

Now sitting here with a glass of wine and the fan pointing directly at me.. the calm before the storm of a full on working week coming.

Hope you've all had a great weekend.

    Good Evening All

Just a quick post from me as going to have an early night in a min. Hope you have all had a good weekend. Its been lovely here albeit a bit hectic. Am currently sitting here with a small amount of sunburn on my shoulder where the suncream missed!

Dont think much housework will be done over next couple of days due to the heat and I have a load of ironing to do which I must get done - luckily my kitchen is cool in the eve as long as the oven isnt on so will do it tomm night methinks.

Well off now to rub in a bit of aftersun, enjoy the last bit of the weekend.!

    Morning everyone!

Well, going to bed last night was about as useful as a chocolate teapot! I didn't get much kip at all. I'm wide awake but know that this lack of zzzzz will come and slap me round the chops at about midday.

It's a wet and horrible day here in N.Ireland, I think it has been raining all night long. At least we don't have to suffer a hosepipe ban with all this rain.

Shez - have a fab day in your new job.

MushyPeas - good luck in your interview today. I hope you get the senior job, then you can rub that cow's nose in it. (Miaow!)

Big cuddly hugs to everyone who needs them.

    Morning everyone

Back at work again. It's way too hot already. Spent all weekend melting!

Hoping to actually leave on time today, so I can rest this afternoon. Don't think I can handle many more 12 hour days.

Hope everyone's ok and PP hope your tummy's better now

Also had trouble sleeping last night. Did put the fan on (half way through the night) and it did help, but still feel knackered. Am aware that it can get very hot in the office so bean and I are going to have to be very careful indeed. They are putting warnings out for old and young people, but no mention of anyone pregnant. Seems daft to me. I don't like heat at the moment anyway. If things get too much I'm going to have to 'excuse myself'. And I know...lots of water.

Tomorrow I have the 'big scan' so should have a better day. And we've decided to find out bean's sex. OH thinks its a boy...and to be honest I do too. But have told him that I think it could be a girl due to a 'pattern' I've worked out. He really would like a son, so this is an attempt to calm him just in case it is a girl. (He has daughters, and has lost sons)

No idea what we're having for tea. Might just have a salad...too hot to worry about anything else.

Morning, Snowy, Scuzz, Rchddap, PP, and all who follow!

Rchddap, when's your baby due? Took me back to when I was pregnant! Hope you get what you're after today.

PP are you all feeling better?

    Shez, enjoy your first day!!

    Mushypeas, give em what for!!

Back to earth with a bump after a great weekend. Brilliant barbie on Saturday, for the under 11 footie presentation evening. I didn't watch the TV that had been set up, so didn't feel soooo bad about the result. 3 families camped in the orchard at our freinds' farm where the party had been held, so stayed up late drinking his HM sloe gin. All our frineds camp "heavy" and had all forgotten a vital piece of equipment. We camp light, so were the only ones to get a good night's sleep.

We relit the barbie in the morning, and had sausage sarnies and strong tea for breakfast.

Gardened yesterday afternoon, and it rained heavily overnight - just what the garden needed.

DS's taster day at his new high school today. He's looking forward to it, but is aware that he'll go from being a big fish to a tiddler. He still looks like my baby! I'm certainly nervous on his behalf. We go this evening. When we went to look round, the head was lovely and warm and welcoming. I remember from when DD started 2 years ago, this meeting she'll give us the hard talk about uniform and behaviour, and will let us know that she takes NO nonsense.

DS is ready to go up to high school, and will have a great time.

Need to mow the lawn today, tackle the pile of ironing that I can no longer see over, and pick courgettes for a pasta sauce for tea.

    Penny. x
