Just found a dead cat in our garden fortunately its not ours, no idea whose it is though as I have never seen it before. DH has just dug a whole to give it a decent burial. Glad it was me who found it and not dd she would have been hugging it. :eek:Sorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Mushy...........
Hollandaise is not easy to make it involves egg yolks butter and a bowl over barely simmering water, you can buy a mix I think Swartz make one and most supermarkets sell jars of the stuff. I do make my own and if we are having it with salmon I usually put just a drop of green colouring in so it comes out very plae green, looks really nice when a whole salmon is dressed with cucumber slices.........Delia Smith has a good recipe in her Complete Cookery Course book, its the one I use............

Hello everyone
Majorly lazy day here in SnowyOwlLand - have done the sum total of nothing so far.
MushyPeas - I am horrified at what is going on at your workplace, that is bullying to the extreme. Have you got the energy to fight back, ie report this woman and her OH to the police or at least to her superiors? Don't pull out of the interview, in fact try even harder to get the job and push her out of the way. They are empty threats I'm sure, big gobs = all talk and no action, don't be afraid of them.
PP - maybe it's better that your DD has started this side of the summer holidays. When she gets to her new school she'll be in the majority as most of her classmates will probably have started too. She'll be able to cope with it better having had a bit of practice during the summer. I don't envy her having so much change in her young life all at around the same time.
Ticklemouse - thanks for the message from kiwichick, glad to hear she has moved house at long last. It'll be great to have her back.
Shez - best of luck for your new job tomorrow.
Well, suppose I'd better do something. Bye!

MushyPeas wrote:it has all kicked off at work. First week back after six weeks sick leave and I wish I had stayed at home! Restructuring is taking place and I've applied for two jobs, my 'current' one which has been redesigned so it is twice the workload and the job above mine. I, a colleague, and a person at that level already, have an interview for that one on Monday, but unfortunately the person currently at that level has taken it personally and her partner has sent me a threatening text message
She's also told people in the office what her partner wants to do to me and it is so horrible that no-one will tell me  It's not a nice feeling, coming home and double checking who is parked outside, just incase. It has all got a bit nasty....not looking forward to tomorrow.
Hi Mushy Peas,
Gosh - what a story - I really feel for you. This is a really serious situation - you are being bullied.
There's a guy on DFW board called MCBIRNIE25 - he's fairly new but he's an expert in employment law and union stuff and works for DWP - so up on public sector stuff too.
I am really appalled by your story - hopefully you can PM him or speak to someone else - that is really not on.
Thinking of you - let us know how you get on. I'm going to PM this to you too.

Afternoon all
have just finnished reading daily threads since thursday, sounds like TM, RLZ and nels had a great time.
PP My dd is 11and she's been having some spotting, though her mood swing have always been extreme, a bit of a drama queen:rotfl: :rotfl:. Though I'm sure once DD gets over the shock you'llbe the first person she'll want to talk to.
SALLYPURPLEHope the race for life went well
Well i had an eventful few days, had an interview on friday morning, so fingers crossed for that. I got my degree results just be for going and I got a 2.2 with Hons:D.

Afternoon :hello:
I hope it thunders later to clear the air, as I am roasting
Sorry I haven't been on since returning from chez TM. I have been having connection problems - my broadband isn't working and I can't figure out whether the problem is with my PC, my network card, my router or the server. Anybody else on Tiscali experiencing problems? TBH I think it's either the network card or the router - the "ACTIVE" indicator on my network card is not doing anything, but my PC is saying my network signal strength is good
I had a brilliant time with TM and Nelski - thanks girls :A Even when Nels was having a screaming contest with TM's DS2. Even when (especially when) I went vastly over budget on my clothes shopping(now I just need to not spend anything in the July sales to compensate
)
That Nels is a TERRIBLE influence. I almost bought THREE pairs of shoes this afternoon in the 15 minutes between leaving church and getting on the bus (my church is just off Oxford Street so lots of temptation!) BUT I DIDN'T QUITE. I will be aiming to spend very little on clothes locally over the next few months so I can save up for another girlie shopping-and-wine weekend when the time comes for updating my winter wardrobe! I am definitely a convert to outlet shopping - it works out such fabulous value! Best buys: Ted Baker silk skirt down from £75 to £13.50, 2 x Liz Claiborne handbags down to £20 and £10 respectively, and a pink Kaliko jacket down from £130 to £25. Best bargain of all, I thought, was TM's lovely new coat, down from £180 to £25 (also Liz Claiborne). Also I am currently wearing a lovely pretty pink Lepel bra which looks fab under today's strappy sundress and cost me £5 down from £20 - and is so comfy I now wish I'd bought all 3 of the same design that they had in my size!
Lots to do over the next week as I've not got many firm plans for the evenings. First priority for tomorrow morning will be to phone the Halifax as I've realised I transferred this month's savings into my (already up to its limit) ISA instead of my savings account  - I hope they can sort it out straight away so it doesn't screw up the tax status of the cash in my ISA
MushyPeas - you need to report stuff like that - and keep the evidence!
PP - 11's not that young these days, though I know it must feel like it to your DD! (((hugs))). Hope you're feeling better too.
TM - I'm pleased that Kiwi's been in touch at last! I hope she comes back for good soon. Also I hope Mr TM's foot is getting better.
Sallypurple - best of luck with the Race for Life
tiptoes - congratulations on your degree! Was a 2:2 what you were hoping for?
Must get on, also I have my laptop on my lap (where else) and it's making me hot. Also need to work out what I'm having for lunch at work tomorrow. I think I have some bolognese sauce in the freezer - I hope so, as I won't then need to cook properly tonight.
See you all later

Corr it's a hot one.
I've done my supermarket trip and spent yet more on baby stuff. I bought another couple of packs of nappies, and lots more vests and sleepsuits, so i now have bits up to a year old. I could have spent more but DH was restraining me and it was already 3:30. We don't normally go shopping at that time, so i hoped for some bargains but zilch.
BRZL - tiscali is fine oop north, so i'd assume that isn't your problem. Glad to hear you managed to get home with all your bargains intact.
Tiptoes a big well done from me for your degree results. You must be really pleased.
I still have most of a set of books to mark, but i am trying to do 5 at a time as i get so bored. I already did a whole set this morning, and i have another set to do tomorrow at work, as well as lesson planning.
I am going to try and get away without ironing today. I really cannot be bothered. I probably will have to tomorrow though ready for OFTED. They might think better of me if i look smart. Not that many of the maternity clothes that are cool enough actually look that smart. Will just have to do my best.
We didn't get thunder in the end, so i think the heat might be here to stay. I'm going to go and look up a weather forecast for the week to help me make some decisions.

hello everyone
we spent the w/end visiting some relatives in the midlands having a garden party. Plenty of kids for my 2 to run around with.
DH called the WM hot-line on Fri to be told they can't tell the problem from lights flashing so whoever told him it was either problem A or problem B shouldn't have done  . They suggested we re-checked the pipes by doing a hot wash with nothing in and it worked :j . So a working WM again, that cost nothing to fix :T , and all the laundry up to date cos of friends and family helping out.
DH is working from home tomorrow, to make up for spending so much time away just lately, so don't know if I'll get on PC till either evening or Tuesday.0
