Hello everybody,
Happy Birthday Mr PP and (((((hugs))))) to need them.
I am sooooo tired atm. I have just put DGS to bed and fingers crossed he sleeps to the morning. I know he won't though. He wakes up every few hours. I finally put him into bed with me at around 3am this morning. He tossed and turned and then finally slept in my arms. DH had to go to work, he got his own brekkyas my arms were full.
Drizzly rain here. I managed to take DGS to the water's edge today before the rain came. He loved throwing rocks into the water as well as getting himself wet.
Plans for tomorrow is much the same as today. YS called me this arv & we had a good chat.
Cat What's the australian guy's name that cooked the chook? On current affair on Mon night there is a segment on about what's in the chicken now. All those steriods etc. Prob put me off them for life.
Pooky Ooooooooooh Pukka Pads. I thought it would be good for me when I price all the building costs for our house. I can segment it. I will do so but it would have been ideal already done. And they looked so nice.
I'm off to have a bit of a surf & veg out before I shower. DH has just gotten out so there will be no hot water. Oh BTW he's in a sooky mood.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning folks :hello:
Well, last night turned into "one of those nights" Excellent concert, saw all the usual old friends, not sure if I got on telly, PenPen, as they often have a camera on a rail-track between concert platform and the front of the audience (which is obviously quite distracting when you're watching the orchestra, but pretty much guarantees that you'll get a close-up if you're near the front), but last night they just had a large boom camera on the other side and a fixed one in the centre. Unfortunately, after the concert I was a bit overtired and somewhat - umm - under the influence, and having missed my last train (overground), I managed to fall asleep on the last Jubilee Line train and woke up at the last station on the line:o This was about 1am  and rather than paying a whopper of a cab fare home, I had to wait for a bus which took me into Blackheath where I changed onto the night bus home. The bus from Stratford took AGES! I was pleased that there were lots of people around at the bus stop in Blackheath, because if I'd been faced with waiting for the night bus alone at that time of night, I would have just cut my losses and got a taxi from there (which wouldn't have been too horrendous). Anyway, I didn't get home until nearly 3am - that'll teach me
PP - glad you enjoyed watching the concert! Did you see me? Did you watch all of it? And a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your OH!
Tonight am going to another Prom. It's so lovely having a season ticket cos it means I can just go all the time. It should be a really good one tonight - an all-Mozart programme of arias. In fact, as it's a nice day and I can't be arsed to do anything I think I'll head over there fairly soon and spend the afternoon sunning myself in the queue, while leafing through the Saturday Times. So I reckon I'll end up on the front row again (tonight's is on BBC1!) Can't tell you what to look out for, cos at the mo I'm still in my dressing gown
I need to do some "homework" too, about this shared ownership scheme. The minimum share you can buy is 40%. I'm going to do a little spreadsheet so I can put numbers in and play around with them - i.e. will my current deposit mean I can potentially afford maybe a 50% share, what is the situation with stamp duty when the property is worth above the threshold but my share isn't, how soon I might be able to pay off a mortgage and buy a bigger share, etc. I need to find an IFA who knows about shared ownership, and my XBF has recommended me the solicitor he used when he bought his current place.
I am really hoping the place turns out to be suitable, because it literally ticks ALL my boxes. It's in my number one choice of area, within my price range, a bus/bike ride from my office. OK, so there's one box it doesn't tick, there's no balcony. But I do hope that when I see it, I get a good "vibe" as it would be pretty much ideal.
Anyway, I need to be off. I have to get to the postal depot before noon to collect an item, then I think I'll meander straight into town. Actually - oooh I've had a good idea - I could go and have a little recce of the neighbourhood where the flats are. It's on the way, if I get the right train.
Right, got to go, see you later

Afternoon all!!
Back online (dial-up at the min - very OS)
Spent the morning finishing off the "study" - found out the other day that I failed one of my uni exams and will have to resit it in August so I need a proper study space to make sure that I pass this time or I'll have to resit the whole year (despite getting a 2:1 in every other piece of coursework and exams!) I knew I'd failed it though as I felt really unwell and not "with it" on the day... I was only 3 marks off though so am a teeny bit disappointed.
Money is also a bit of a sore point as OH came back from Serbia having spent all his money for the month, so I have had to pay several large bills (TV licence £135, Home Insurance £140, Phone line connection £160, Food £80, Petrol £70, etc) with the promise that he'll pay me back. It's taken me nearly £1000 into my overdraft but fortunately my inheritance from my grandfather has come through so that'll pay it off and I will just need to be a bit careful so that i can save as much of my £1000 back into my ISA  Moving into a new place is sooooo expensive!!!
I bought OH a toolbox yesterday so that all his screwdrivers and screws can be kept in one place rather than scattered all over the floor (painful!) so he's a happy bunny playing around with all its little compartments and putting nails into the wall for various pictures and mirrors.
Sat here with the french windows open (1st floor flat with a Juliette balcony) watching the men playing cricket through the trees. It's a beautiful day here and I think we're going to go for a stroll this evening to discover a bit more about the village.
WM has been on and washing is now drying on the airer, and the floors have been mopped and the carpets hoovered - MIL is coming over for a cuppa tonight so I need to pass her inspection!!
Anyway, sorry for the ramble!!
Hugs to those in need, and Happy Birthday Mr PP!!!

Afternoon everyone
Happy birthday to PP's DH
Lisa - you are a complete nutter but I luvs ya anyway. You know you can't be anywhere near as bad as me though. If you start telling tales about a certain London party I will never show my face here again
Bargainrzl - I am sorry but I was WMSL at the thought of you falling asleep and ending up miles from home, it's something I have always dreaded.
Great news about Chloe, she is much better and is home, they still don't know what it was and she is on antibiotics, her birthday party is still on for tomorrow.
Why is it that when kids have a nice day out they come back ratty and horrid. We met up with my parents at the local country show and DD was spoiled rotten, she has come home with everything she wanted and is now being a complete mareShe gives me much more trouble and she will be off to bed for an unexpected nap.
The nice thing is that as I didn't get any money from XDH last week both mum and dad gave me some money to spend, but as Nanny was so busy spoiling her granddaughter rotten I didn't actually get to spend much at all and I came home with more than I went with
DD amazed me by venturing onto this huge inflatable slide, and I mean huge! This thing must have been about 18 feet high. My heart was in my mouth the whole time watching her as it was nearly vertical and she is usually a real scaredy cat but she had two goes.
I've come home with loads of books and a few new tapes for the car (Madonna, Peter Gabriel and David Bowie)We got loads of freebies from various stalls and won a few little things on the tombola.
And hows this for OS ingenuity? When we left it was horrible weather so I put DD in a fleece, 1 hour after we got there it was sweltering and the only t-shirts there were £11 each, so I bought a cheapie scarf from a stall and fashioned it into a halterneck top with the aid of a tiny safety pin.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
