Had an eventful day yesterday, as hubby was about to wash dishes he found a baby bat in the sink!! we have had bats for years and they don't normally bother us so this was a shock to say the least!

Phoned council who then put us in touch with scottish heritage who deal with bats and they advised us to put him in a cardboard box with wet toilet paper.

Okay we thought can do that, they said keep him in box til nighttime then release him outside.

Went back in kitchen and he was nowhere to be found!!

Searched all over kitchen, turned it upside down ans still no luck! even searched all over house in case he had somehow gotten out.

No luck, and the smell in kitchen was awful as well and the droppings! had to ban our kids from kitchen all day.

He had gotten in through our fan which has a broken vent on the outside, that is now fixed!

We thought he had somehow gone back out, so we started to wash down everything with bleach, then at 7.30 he reappears! was hiding next to microwave and books all day.

We got him outside and left him to it, he was very shaken up and didn't leave til he had gone as next doors cat was watching as she likes to eat bats!

He finally flew away as cat made a run for him!

I hope today is a better day!

Morning PP, Trow, Kyle and all who follow!
    :bdaycake: Happy birthday Mr PP!:bdaycake:

His pressies sound great! My DH really appreciates cards and gifts made by the children, so good on ya, small PPs, :T

Rzl, how was AH? Were you on the TV? Sounds v exciting!

DH has taken children to swim club, and I'm supposed to be ironing and clearing up after last night's barbie. That was a great success, but DH opened the whisky around 11pm, and is paying for it now! My HM hummus was a graet success.

DS has a football event today. The company which allows our club free use of its grounds for training is having a fun-day, so the club is running a footie themed event to say thanks to the company, and raise some money. There'll be an Its a Knockout comp for the kids (before their time, really, so they'll have a surprise) and a barbie in the evening.

DD13yo is off to France on a school trip tomorrow. I'm missing her already

Must rust, I hear the siren call of the iron.............

Hope you all have a fab Saturday!

    Morning :hello:
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Mr PP :bdaycake:

Lovely sunny day here so will hang some washing out in a bit. May even scare the neighbours and go out in my DG :D Mr TM is away on an overnight camping expedition with some cadets later so I shall be doing my 'single mum' bit again (so what's new? :D)

I must do some cleaning today cos didn't get half as much done yesterday as I intended as my business phone calls took so much longer than expected. Will strip the beds soon (ok, I'll wait for Mr TM to get out of his first :rotfl:) so they can all be done this morning and made back up. Did ALL my ironing last night, including all those difficult items you throw back in the basket until 'next time'. I'm sure it will be full again by tea-time though!

I need to go to the market today as I'm running short on meat. I have lots of bits to eat up in the freezer but not a lot to make anything 'proper' with. Other than that, I can't think what to do - will just get on and do things as I think of them.

Hope you all have a good day.

    TM xxx

ps. Isn't it quiet without Nelski around?? :rotfl:

    Morning all

Kyle - Ohh I love bats - my smallest kitty does too and always brings them in - but he's always very gentle with them and hasn't killed one yet (to my knowledge)

PP - Give that hubby of yours a huge hug from all of us OS'ers for his birthday - he's one in a million.

Manic - I'm very jealous....I was destined to marry Morten....well I was at 13 anyway...he's still looking rather good though...hope you have fun.

We're off to visit friends in Essex later - going to have BBQ and will stay over....will have to pop to Ikea on the way back tomorrow...it's the law ;)

I'm not happy with you lot actually --- all this talk of pukka pads all week as driven me into a small frenzy and I actually went and got one yesterday, then spent the entire evening transfering all the bits into their from a scraggy exercise book, I even used different coloured gel pens for the headings...how posh am I!!!!

Loads of ironing to do before we go to friends later, DH has popped into work for a couple of hours to escape doing the housework me thinks.

Anyway - have a wonderous weekend all

Morning all............((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) to those who need them.....

Happy birthday PP's OH, you are a star!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I have quite a bit to do today, clear the garage and bring in some camping stuff that needs to go into the attic, sort out the stuff in the garage to do a boot sale next weekend.

Up into the attic, put up camping stuff and bring down model cars etc for the boot sale, I have pictures up there that have not been used for years, also have some large dishes that I no longer usee they can go, am trying to clear the pine dresser in the kitchen we are thinking of selling that, it takes up soooooooo much room........

Friend and myself doing a Craft Fair before Christmas...... need to sort out fabric etc, mark up some quilted cushion covers, finish off a bag I started last week and look at some things to machine embroider.....marmalade to make, washing to do overnight and bread to make....... boy am I going to be busy.

We are on a clear out serious money saving mission right now...........saw something yesterday that we really really want, but have to raise some cash first...........

Right I am off, have my 'little list' for today, coffee first...... OH is at the allotment, so no disturbances from that quarter until after lunch.............

    15_1_70v.gif Hello everyone

    Happy Birthday to Mr PP.13_12_32.gif

Trow - Hope your first loaf turns out ab fab. Do be warned - it cuts much easier when it's cooled! What loaf have you made?

Kyle - loved your post about the bat. Don't envy you with the clean up mission tho - took DS through the bat enclosure at west midlands, I'd no idea bats could make such a smell!4_6_11.gif

Pen Pen - I used to love watching it's a knockout as a kid - hope your DS has a fab time

Manic Days - hope you have a fantastic time at the concert.

Tootles - any clues as to what it is you 'really really want'? Sounds like the programme 'car booty'!

Pooky - really sorry about the Puka pad thing (yeah, right) at least you've got one. :p Can you come up with something I need one for ?? I'm dying to get my hands on one!

Catowen - have a great time at the moors. If you'd stayed at home the housework would only need re-doing 'cause the children would be home. Enjoy without guilt!

Supposed to be writting my shopping list, but kinda got sidetracked......
    Best get on with it.

Thanks to all who sent well wishes for my DS - he's fully recovered now (I can tell by the way he keeps pesterring me :D)

    Kaz x

Hi Yall, a lovely sunny day here in the emids. I feel I can actually cope with the daily thread today as it is under 10 posts long. LOL

I've not much to do today as I'm pretty much packed up for my usual summer sabatical at the coast I can't wait to go the weather has been so muggy inland, my hayfever is giving me jip and the harvest flies are starting to gang up and swarm. They reach biblical plague status in a few weeks so I'm off! I think it is something to do with all the rape seed fields around here:confused: .

We are having two rooms knocked into one upstairs to make a bigger study where we can network 3 pcs and 'hotdesk' so hopefully by Sept I will be able to claim my music room back and Mrs MATH can preside over her craft alcove unhindered:T It's work we sceduled over a year ago but when Mrs mATH lost her job we had to put on hold but we can't put it off for ever so have bit the bullet and decided to do it.

Having work done drives me bonkers so another good reason to head east. I'm off into town this morning to pick the colours for the hall stairs and landing which will need redecoration because of the building work. In the 10years we've lived here we have never decorated this area. The wall paper won't need much stripping cos the cats have already done most of that for us (bless em!)

I leave on Monday and don't plan to come back until the end of August although I may have to pop back to do a training day as I've got a wee job delivering census forms in Sept.

Have a wonderful Birthday Mr PP hope you both enjoy your picnic and have fun cavorting on your tartan rug! :kisses3: :kisses2: :eek:

TM good luck down the meat market!

    Luv 'n' hugs
