There was a good carrot cake recipe thread on here a couple of months ago - called something like "Carrot cake - school style" (so try a search on some of these words!). I think the "winning" recipe on there was posted by Catowen. I have made it a couple of times and it is delicious :)

Feeling a bit 'blue' today so was thinking that PMT was on it's way. Just went to the 'ladies' and noticed the 'tag' of my trousers was at the front.. I've spnet half a day (including a shop around tesco) with them on back to front - and yes it is noticeable! I wasn't being paranoid after all - people really were staring and smirking !!!!!10_12_3.gif

Don't feel to bad, I let DD go to school yesterday on her school trip with her knickers on back to front :o I didn't realise until she came home and was getting changed.

Shez - I use paypal for everything on ebay. I won't except any other form of payment except when the item is to be collected in person (just reminded me that I need to go and change a few of the listings I've done to take that into account :o ). If someone is having trouble paying by paypal I'm patient and I might let them pay by postal order or cash but I prefer paypal. You can have a "cash on collection" option, I just can't remember as it's a couple of months since I last listed stuff.

Right, off to sort out those ebay items that aren't quite done, then get them uploaded. ;)

    Hi everyone
Apologies firstly as haven't yet had a chance to read the thread...still running around like a blue bottomed fly here at work. better have lost some weight this week although did eat rather alot of Maltesers whilst checking out the standard of Mr Depp and Mr Bloom's acting skills last night [I really was a very good girl and paid very close attention:grin:
Well here at Aril towers all is going good. Found a beautiful photo album yesterday in the charity shop which aha I thought would be perfect for a present for a certain festival which shall remain nameless in July. However, had forgotten that the small person's greatest love is elephants and guess what was on the front and consequently who now owns it having rummaged around in my bag unbeknown to me!! However, was actually pleased I did have it as he was very stressed over something which had happened at school which he had misinterpreted in his Aspergic way so it provided a very welcome distraction as we got to the bottom of the matter.
Will be decorating a HM cake when I get in from work this pm but unfortunately not for our consumption but for the summer fete tomorrow [which I shall be doing the raffle at...yipee but don't really mind as at least I haven't had to organise it like last year when I was Chairman] and then we're off to visit my friend in Bedford for the weekend. I gather there's going to be a river festival on so looking forward to that:j
Other thrilling plans are to do a few bits in the town, make the HM lunches, sardine burgers for tea and the weekly menu/shopping list for the pre fete dash around Tesco tomorrow pm

kazonline: I have tootles carrot cake recipe - I dont know how to post a link so have copied n pasted! - I havent done the icing just the cake (thks tootles)

    Spiced Carrot cake

    5ozs SR flour
    5ozs castor sugar
    5ozs grated carrot
    1 1/2 teasp cinnamon
    1 teasp ground ginger
    2 eggs.
5fl ozs veg oil or sunflower oil.
    1 level teasp baking powder.
    1 teasp vanilla essence.
    1 1/2ozs chopped nuts optional
    1 1/2 ozs sultans optional.

    I use a 2lb lined loaf tin.
    Oven 180oC gas mark 4 350oF
Grease and base line a 2lb loaf tin.

Mix all the dry ingredients together, break the eggs onto a bowl and add the vanilla ess and oil, beat gently to emulsify the eggs with the oil, stir into the dry ingredients and pour into a tin. put onto a preheated oven for an hour, test by putting a knife into the middle if it comes our clean its done.

Double up the qauntities and bake in a meat tin will make a good tray bake for home baking stalls etc...... I used to make vast quantties for the teas we did for our National Trust garden.

You can add a topping of lemon butter icing or icing made with cream cheese although I find this too rich, I just serve the cake on its own.
