    Hello everyone

Need to get back on flylady today. Not had a good start to day. Thursdays I walk kids to my nans, drop DS off, continue to DDs nursery drop her off, walk back to nans pick up DS and take him to school. Looked for my keys to lock house up-couldn't find them. DH had had them, hadn't put them back on the key-hook and I had to leave house unlocked

Last night, it was too hot, couldn't sleep so came downstairs for a while with just my pj bottoms on, topless cos so hot, walked in living room, curtains wide open:mad: . We overlook a field-fortuantely but there's sometimes teenagers hanging about. Complained to DH this morning but according to him it's both our responsibility to shut the curtains  , the fact I went to bed earlier and left him to do a night-time routine like close curtains/windows and lock doors doesn't seem to apply:mad:

    Morning all,

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY SMASHING BLOUSE:bdaycake:

Beautiful weather again, its going to be cracking the flags later so must get my jobs done so can spend the afternoon outside. Picnic style lunch in the garden is planned for DD & me and have dug the paddling pool out so while I top up the tan she can splash about.

PP - great news about your blood count increasing, mine seems to hover at around 9/10 now but the extra increase makes all the difference, I've always said if I get back up to 13 I could run a marathon:rotfl: and pigs might fly.

Anyhow things won't get done if I don't stiff my butt

Have a great day, take care all

    I'm back again :hello:

Just had to phone British Gas emergency number. This morning OH could smell gas as he left, could still smell it when I took DD to school. When I got back from the shops at 9.30 the smell was stronger so I called them and the engineers were out within 20 minutes :D Turns out that the idiotic Morgan Est who are carrying out the work for United Utilities have severed the gas supply to next door and then just taped up the end of the pipe! They haven't touched that hole since Monday so it's been leaking since then but as it's been so breezy no-one appears to have noticed :mad: No wonder DD has had a headache and I woke up with one this morning, I've been sleeping with the bedroom window open due to the heat and the broken pipe is just a meter or so from our house :eek: I feel a letter of complaint to United Utilities AND Morgan Est is in order. If I hadnt have called the emergency number the gas could have continued leaking and caused goodness knows what sort of problems .

Off to see whats going to happen now as the blue transco van has just turned up

Nicki - I had a gas leak for a few years. Everyone thought I was bonkers, but I could smell it. Eventually it was detected where the pipe came into my kitchen cupboard to meet the meter. I had had it checked previously by a local plumber who used some sort of meter to check - but he came up with nothing which is why I thought it might just be me. Eventually someone else noticed it too and I called transco who sorted it!

Right, I'm back again, again :rotfl:

    PP - Don't you just hate man-flu :rolleyes::rotfl:
    :bdaycake:Happy Birthday SMASHING BLOUSE!!!! :bdaycake:

Catowen - I had a similar problem when I last coloured my hair. It was supposed to be this sumptious dark red colour (think chestnut but redder) but it just sort of tinted the majority of my hair to a more old-brick red  and the front where my fringe should be (I don't wear one, I have one length hair all over ;) ) was a sort of gingery colour  So much for Fructruss colour care stuff that supposed to be so wonderful :rotfl:

Moggins - (((hug))) Give him a swift kick up the rear I would  Mind you I can talk as I went out and bought new clothes, a MP3 player and 2 pairs of new trainers all on the credit card before I cut it up :o

Pooky - that mash sounds lovely...may have to try it out ;)

Lucie - Yes I have water now. The work thats being done to replace the mains pipe & all the stopcocks is now finished for our bit of the road. :D

Shez - not these workmen that just turned up *shudder* the original water guys were better and thats saying something :rotfl:

As for ebay erm...I use turbolister so I can take my time and I try to list stuff as I come across it. You shouldn't have any problems with getting something listed today. You could always try listing just one item for now, make sure you use the royalmail website to give you an idea of the postage cost of the item. I weigh my stuff on the kitchen scales and then check the postage against royal mail lists, then I add a bit more money, whatever takes the postage cost into the next price bracket, incase the packaging of the item pushes the weight into the next range. Does that make sense? Hang on, I've just thought of an example : I have a CD I'm selling and it weighs 54g so for me to post it would cost
    • 32p first class
    • 23p second class
    • £1.00 for 1st class recorded delivery.
The delivery I charge in this case is :
    • 49p first class (17p packaging)
    • 37p second class (14p packaging)
    • £1.17 first class recorded. (17p packaging)
Then I've stuck this statement on the bottom of all my listings :
I always state/charge the cost of postage to the best of my knowlege (using the Royal Mail website as reference). The cost of packaging covers the postage cost for the item should it fall into the next postal catergory once packaged which can and often happens. So if your item ends up falling into the next weight catergory I make NO PROFIT from postage, if it doesn't then the extra charge covers the cost of packaging materials.

I also start most items off at 99p, unless it's worth alot more. ;) Best bit of advice though is to do a search on ebay first for the item you want to list to see how many are currently available and how much, if anything, they're selling for. You don't have to take a picture of the item, but it's always better to take one so you can "prove" that you have the item and the condition it's in. Other than that I'd have to say check out the ebay board as they are really helpful people over there ;)

Right.... I've contacted United Utilities via email and I've saved a copy of it to word (it was an online form to fill out for complaints  ). They say they will be in touch within 5-10 days when a complaint is made to ensure that your complaint has been dealt with  We'll see. Talking about utilities, the DJ on the radio has been complaining about a company, he didn't name names, who was coming out to change the meters at his place and still haven't turned up after 3 "appointments", so his wife fuming phoned the company up this morning, was put on hold for 30 minutes and then was cut off

Right, I'dbetter get my bottom out of this chair and get on with the washing up and dishes.

  • Afternoon

Been a busy bee this morning:D Have listed 49 items on Ebay which Im pleased about.

OH is feeling much better and has even done the inside of windows and is now eating HM pizza:confused: wish I could get over illnesses like that! Washing has been hung on line and another load is in ATM. Have made the calls that needed doing.

In the post this morning I received the voucher for the 2 Bounty rolls, a new eyeliner I got for pennies and another £1 voucher. Seem to be doing well on the freebies ATM.

Anyway, Im going to go as I really do need to rest up this afternoon.

    Take care all.

Went to see Dad last night and the other person in his room died yesterday. As he seemed so much fitter than my Dad this has come as quite a shock even though we have only known him for three weeks.

Home made soup is in the slow cooker and dishes are in the machine.
Spending this morning checking my books on Amazon and getting up to date with this site after a couple of days.

Got the freebie Age cream and very impressed so far.

Hugs to all and Happy Birthday smashing blouse!:j

Well that was an experience never to be repeated :D

In anger and frustration I went and had a fag :D Talk about reminding me why I should stay smober :D I have felt great for the last four days, one ciggie and I had to have a lie down. I felt dizzy and sick and lethargic. That's it girls! No more ever for me, ever! I have not been rehooked, I hated the taste and the experience, it was like smoking for the first time again and I just don't want to be there.

All I can say is YUK! Why did I do that for the last 18 years? I feel daft for having one but deeply encouraged by the whole experience. :D
