    :hello: Goooooood Morning! :D:D

    :bdaycake: Many Happy Returns, BR
Haven't had a chance to read through all the thread yet - I've been incredibly sidetracked by 2006 World eBook Fair Collections (Free Access to the public from July 4th to August 4th, in celebration of Project Gutenberg's 35th Birthday)

Found some lovely books to download for reading later :o Among others, there is one called Cooking Through the Ages (pdf) with wonderful recipe titles such as:- Once upon a Spy, Scots Mutton Pie (1945), Warrior Nettle Broth (! another Scots recipe ;) ) Rose Among The Heather, Autumn Veg Soup. Makes a change from the usual recipe titles and made me

Up very early to get the rubbish out - can't put it out over night otherwise the gulls rip all the bags apart and make a rotten mess. Managed to get the washing done and out. Bread machine is baking a seed and granary loaf today.

    B: Muesli with yogurt
L: Tuna and sprouted seed pitta (boys having l/o tabbouleh with cheese)
    D: HM Burgers and salad.

Sports Day for d10yo this afternoon and all day for d12yo tomorrow.

Still no eggs from the quails yet, but there is a lot of piggy-backing going on since I introduced a male last weekend (still not sure about Tailo who we thought was a male but doesn't crow like Quinney does  ) so anytime now I should be seeing eggs

Have a great day, all

    Morning all

Happy birthday RZL - have a nice time tonight.

Shez - Sorry to hear about your DH - Give him a big hug when you get home.

Hugs to all who need them, want them or just generally collect them.

Only one little one here at the moment - had 5 for the school run this morning though - none of them wanted to walk faster than a snails pace either! Had another childminder here for a play session for a couple of hours which really helps to pass the morning.

Had some more fantastic news this morning from the CSA of all people! They've finally sorted out the complaint I placed in January and have agreed with my figures and now ExH owes me over a thousand pound in back money and his weekly payment will go up by an extra £41 a week before the arrears are taken into account! It's much needed money at the moment as both DD's seem to be growing out of everything at an alarming rate...annoyingly both of them are in the same sized clothes though at the moment so it means there's no hand-me-downs for the youngest to fall back on.

I'm about to tackle the ironing whilst little one is asleep - I've still got no energy but will sit on the end of the bed and do it whilst watching a dvd - need to try and stay of top of everything before the school hols.

Hope you all have a great day.

    Happy birthday Rzl :bdaycake:

Just ordered loads of hay fever medication at a great price - Thanks to martin :T .

Need to go out to get sun block for Dd and stuff for my dad - then need to look at clothes that do not pull over the head for DD as she has sinus surgery next week. May beg DH for a lift to look at outlet centre and also Primark for some cheap stuff.

Will make home made quiche and salad later.

Big hugs to everyone that could do with them.

    Afternoon ladies.

Shez - its not so much builders bums as tums :o There's one that wears a t-shirt like thing on his head to cover it up from the sun but he looks like he should be riding a camel across that Sahara in it, not digging up roads in Liverpool :rotfl:

Dare I say this here *whispers "I'm bored"* Washing is drying steadily outside, house is clean and tidy enough and I can't be bothered with the internet much  Don't know whats up with me today. Ideally I'd like to have a nice long soak in the bath and then go pick DD up from school but obviously I can't

Might venture into the kitchen and make some scones (got milk thats gone off  ), cakes (really craving something sweet ATM  ) and some bread as we're down to our last loaf and I'm trying desperately not to go shopping until I HAVE to go. :o Only thing is I'm thinking of all the washing up afterwards...maybe I can persuade OH to do some tonight after tea which would lessen the amount I'll end up doing tomorrow..okay I give in, made a cup of tea so I'm going out in the kitchen to have a look at baking supplies - I know I've got flour and I think I have sugar... ;)

    Hippo Bathday Bargain Rzl :D

I love summer when university is closed - I only have to go into work 1 day a week and have my work laptop at home for the rest. (although this puts up my home insurance a bit & I can't work out why). Completely re-writing the web desgn module at the moment and if it's good enough the uni will look into publishing it as a textbook - ooh royalties of maybe 10p a year :)

We had a hole cut in the ceiling and a loft ladder fitted on saturday so I can finally see what is up there. No sign of any previous loft hatch, dust about 2cm thick and the original lathe-and-plaster ceiling was hiden behind layer of modern plasterboard. I'm not cleaning that up - just put down the insulation and board over the dust!

Stuck waiting for the fitter to come back today though - he managed to cut right through the wire to the light in that room and now none of the lights in the house will turn on.

If any of you remember the pics I posted when we bought this house in Feb - the kitchen has finally been finished. I've got rid of a lot of junk we never used. The pantry section has shelves to the ceiling (but not the floor as we're getting a puppy next year) and I've noticed that now there are no doors hiding the tins away my storecupboard organising is much better - we don't have anything stuck in a corner to forget about as the shelves are only 2 tins deep.
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!
