Goodmorning Snowy & PenPen & all to follow,

I thought you'd be feeling a lot better today Snowy. 15_6_4.gif Hope you feel a tad better today. If not, off to the Dr on Monday. :naughty: Sounds a good arrangement there PenPen with DH. I've never been able to domesticate mine. He does try bless him, but the end result is a mess.

Had a nice day today. Went to Mass, they had a cuppa afterwards so we stayed for tea & cake. :D The cake was nice, some sort of date & walnut roll maybe. Although I did taste a hint of ginger in there. The priest came over to say hi and then took us for a drive in his old bush basher for a drive over the island. 12_7_4.gif Bit scary, I don't think he could see that well. I sat in the back. :D

He dropped us off to the markets which were quite good but didn't get any bargains that I'd hoped for. Got DGS a little doggy knitted finger puppet. It was $2 and soooo cute. Had lunch at the RSL club and got home around 2pm.

Just off to do some ironing now. DH on the bed reading the paper but I hear snores so he's nodded off. ;) Catch you all later. Byeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    :hello: Goooooood Morning! :D

Phew! Haven't been around for a while, been sooooo busy. It's that time of year when so much is happening with the schools (especially for d10yo) plus other commitments that it's becoming dangerous if I turn the computer on - I'm too easily sidetracked :o

D10yo has been picked for a Maths Masterclass at the other Grammar School to the one he'll be attending in September. Had his first "Masterclass" last Thursday afternoon and his opinion was that it is tedious because he already knows and understands the aspects they were doing.

D12yo took part in his 1st footie tournament last weekend and even though his team didn't win all their matches, he's as proud as punch to be included in the team and the tournament. Waiting for a phone call to know if there is another next weekend and if either or both of them have been picked.

I was helping my friends move their bedroom furniture around and was asked if I knew anyone who needed a single bed; it's virtually brand new and hardly used. Did I know anyone? Did I!!! Me! So, that's my freebie of the moment that I'm really, really, pleased about.

Still waiting to hear from the garage about the cost of having my sump and shock abs done, but I think I have enough tucked away in my Freedom A/c to cover that just so long as there aren't too many other unplanned expenses come up.

Really getting the hang of baking cakes in the bread machine which is a real boon for the packed lunches in this heat.

Snowy - hope you are feeling much better very soon!

Penny - glad to hear your delegation of tasks worked to your advantage :D:D

Hope you all have a super OS Sunday

Morning, Queenie! Have a good one!

Well done on the bed. I recently gave my old one away - nothing wrong with it, but didn't fit in any longer. I had loads of people wanting it, and the couple who took it were delighted. And to think I was going to turn it into firewood before I discovered this site and Freecycle!

    Ouch. Typing. Hurts.
Serves me right I did a body pump class yesterday & knew that my arms would be in agony this morning. I felt it before I'd even opened my eyes! Anyway, best thing for aching muscles is to get them moving again, so washing, ironing & cleaning is the order of the day.
Already got one load in the WM & just about to empty & re-fill the DW. Recycling is sorted into it's various storage places & I now need to choose between vac-ing upstairs or mop kitchen floor. Choices, choices..............
Beef stifado for dinner; the beef (shin) has been soaking in a bottle of red wine o/night so it should be scrummy by the time I get it out of the oven. I'm also going to have a go at making an aubergine dip this aft for the first time ever.
Anyway, time for :coffee:. Happy Sunday everyone

    Morning Guys

Really feeling roughth this morning, but has been a busy couple of days so my own fault!

We had a lovely afternoon and evening yesterday with friends. My friend also did my eyebrows for me as they needing re-shaping:o Thought she was going to need the strimmer from the garden:eek: but she managed just fine:D Got bought a lovely bunch of white lillies (my favs!), some wine and a HM Bonoffe(sp) pie-which was delish!

WM is on and will need to go on the airer as its raining here this morning. DW has been emptied and re-loaded and toilet is clean. Floors need a sweep through too.

OH & DD go on their trip tommorrow and my SIL will be here for the day or the best part of it anyway. I have a few letters to draft for my GP, OT and SW to do for my DLA claim, so will get cracking on them tomorrow.

DD is round her friends for the afternoon and evening today, so will be very quiet here;) OH wants to play Golf on the Xbox for abit and I havent played that for months (normally because I kick his !!!!!! and he sulks:rolleyes: ) so may play against him if my hands are up for it.

OH got a rack of "taste the differnce" lamb cutlets reduced to 90p a few weeks ago, so he is cooking me a roast dinner with these. So foiled cooked lamb cutlets, roast potatoes, new potatoes, cabbage, carrots, peas, stuffing, yorkshires and minted gravy:beer: ......cant wait!

Anyway, Id best go. DD still in bed and OH is trying to talk about a newer car that he may have found for us:eek:

    Breakie: Coffee & Doughnut:o
    Lunch: Ham, salad, rice
    Dinner: See Above

Can you freeze Egg Fried Rice bought from a take-away?

    Take Care guys.

    Morning all

Well our freebie trip to Pontins didn't go quite as planned as we came home less than 24 hours after arriving! We had a lovely chalet - all freshly painted with new carpets, new telly and new kitchen units and appliences, had a lovely evening out and got back around 11pm.....then I spent the rest of the evening/morning with the stomache bug that seems to be doing the rounds....blugh. It was a relief to come home, DD's were really good about it, said it's always best to be at home when you're feeling poorly - bless them.

Feeling much better this morning and we're going to take them to the cinema this afternoon as a thank you for being so good about losing their weekend away.

Hope everyone's well, have a great sunday.

they are back home after holiday and wedding at gretna with a pile of photos on a cd so will get her to put one on here if she can, i know she has one of the boys as her avatar in their kilts, they are so cute but both have lost their front teeth so a bit self concious smiling but to me dd looks like a princess, so proud of them

snowyowl - are you managing to keep water down you dont want to get dehydrated, i would say dr too if not better by tomorrow
queenie - been wondering where you were but i dont know about sending pms without being asked
you must be very proud of both boys, well done them, hope your friend is doing well in hosp, and is the chook laying an egg yet?
aussielass - poor you in the back of the car, at least you got home in one piece
reminds me of an old boy we have here who goes miles in his invalid buggy, good for him, but it is dark red and he doesnt see well, i am always glad when i pass him in the car as you never know which corner he is round and he tends to just wander out of side roads right in front of you
pen pen - hope the weather stays fine to let you finish your garden

    Good morning all

only up half an hour and already feel like strangling the OH

Why is it that when they're in that kind of mood, they can't stop talking? He knows what a crank I am when I'm just out of bed, cos he's one too but he insists on talking to me!!!!! And he's decided to clean the house....at 9 o'clock on Sunday morning???????????

hmmmmm.. anyways, big hugs to Snowy Owl and Pookyhope you are feeling better. tummy bugs can be exhausting... hope you are being looked after.
Pen-Pen well done on delegating....can you come and work your magic on mine?! :rotfl:
Penny-PincherI wouldn't freeze egg fried rice. The egg will go all funny when it's defrosted again. That's just my opinion tho!
congrats to Queenie's DS2 on the tournament! Bet you're proud of him.

Well, today is weeding day. And cleaning the bathroom and the kitchen. Will change the bed and hoover tomorrow before guests arrive.

Hugs to anyone else coming after who needs one or who I forgot.

    have a good day all!!

Queenie It's lovely to see you, you must be so proud of the boys doing so well.

Pooky you poor thing :( What a time for it to happen.

Snowy I hope you start to feel better very soon.

Well I am sat here with DD again whilst DH takes an extended lie in, I can't remember the last time I had a lie in. If he would come to bed at a reasonable hour he might be able to get up in the morning, instead he comes to bed at 4am and wakes me up in the process :(

So instead of having a lovely lazy Sunday it looks like I shall be tootling around doing more housework as DD is watching the Disney channel.
