VickyA What sort of style dress did you choose? I've still got mine. I try it on every anniversary and do a sashay down the hall. I tease DD that I expect her to wear it. ;) Fraid it's not fancy enough. Little bit tight now. My back has got bigger. :D But I can still zip it up. Just.

Well, it's not much of a merengue - full skirt, train and a nice bit of erm material that covers my big stomach :D I've also got a veil and tiara. My mum doesn't like them, but as I pointed out to her, the Queen and Princess Diana had both. If it's good enough for the Queen, then I think it might just be good enough for me :rotfl:

My mum's wedding dress still has the coffee stain on it from 2nd June 1973! It's also definitely VERY 70s. My future SIL actually wore her mum's dress on her wedding day.......... but it was tame in comparison to my mum's.

jockettuk - you deserve a medal! 30 little 7 year old cherubs? I get paid for that! You did it voluntarily! Brave, brave lady!

    Hello everyone!

My internal plumbing has been totally up the spout, even my cats have been staring at me wondering what that awful noise was. Spent most of the day in the bathroom (ya really wanted to know that didn't ya!?!). The eggy burps got very aggressive in the afternoon (another fact you are grateful to receive!), they were nauseating in themselves. Things have settled down a bit so I made an emergency dash to the nearest shop to get ginger biscuits, some mints to cover the taste of egg, and some loo roll. It has also rained non-stop today, so couldn't even put some washing out.

Other than some biccies I haven't eaten today but now I really fancy a pizza. Am I mad do you think?

TM glad you calmed down and I am really impressed that you bought that silly man of yours presents for his birthday. You mentioned before that he's from N.I. - forgive me if I stereotype him, but I've noticed that many men here love their mammies and will do anything for them (wife is often number two on the list of importance, but that's an observation I have never once spoken out loud for fear of shattering many a young bride's illusion). Is he similar? Would he be more thoughtful and cooperative if you were to have a quiet word with his mammy? (Please don't tell me she thinks you an evil she-witch who stole her lovely sweet and innocent wee boy from her and did evil things to him...)

Jockette UK you survived! Congratulations!! Hope you're having some liquid refreshment this evening to numb the pain.

VickyA...ooo you must be so excited!

    Bye all.

You have it in one, snowy .... mummy deffo comes first. As he's said before, you only get one mother, but you can always get another wife :D (And I'm wifey No 2, so he's right there :D .... but then he's hubby No 2 as well..... ) Luckily his mother does side with me about how he behaves. Unfortunately, she's not over here often enough to do anything about it. Also, I suspect she thinks we're a lot better off than we are. Asset rich, cash poor, that's the House of Mouse currently.

Anyway, he's out at a colleague's 70th tonight and the world looks much better through the haze of a strong voddy and tonic (ok, 2 then) :rotfl:

(Mind you, he reckons he's going to have 5 wives before he kicks the bucket at 105. I keep telling him the 3rd one will have shot him long before that :D So, watch out, he's over in July .......... ;) )

    Morning everyone!

Don't worry, am not going to be graphic about my tummy today, suffice to say that I haven't had a great sleep and have taken several trips to the loo during the night. What torture. I hope it really is a 48 hour bug.

Old Style - what's that then?
Moggins' Flylady Challenge...um, rings a bell...

Morning, Snowy, and all who follow. Another eary riser! And a late night for you, too. Hope you feel better soon. :A

Moggins, I went and looked back at the threads I'd missed. Huge :grouphug: Hope you reach a good solution for you and your family. How's your DD? Mine was sent home from school after throwing up several times. Was very worried, as she couldn't even keep water down, and she has no fat reserves to keep her going. But she soon bounced back, and we reckon it might be a migrane (possibly hormones??). She's at guide camp now, and I've had no message, so she'll be packing away the chocolate.

Ausielass, hamster?? as you can see, I have no understanding of rodents, apart from that I can identify the mouse droppings in my shed   I thought it was a tennis racket, too! Wimbledon mad, around here.

Ticklemouse, hugs to you too. Your curry sounds delsih.

Rzl, how was Glyndebourne. Did you say hi to the llamas from me?

Jockettuk, you are very brave. It's so true that you can choose your friends, but you can't choose their children. I have a friend whose daugter used to bully mine for several years (and my friend knows it) but still she won't hera a word against her little darlings!

Penny Pincher, tell your family to have a fab time in Margate. Sounds like a lovely day out. What will you do without them?

Catowen, how do you get to be a mystery shopper? Sounds like great fun. Do you get to keep the shopping?

DH and I had a chat about sharing the household tasks yesterday. I was quite happy to do most of this when I was off work looking after children, but since I went back, part-time, I still take the bulk of the responsibility, and I'm run ragged. I asked what jobs he preferred, and what he'd rather not do. Transpired that he likes cleaning floors, and dusting! The two I dislike most! :T Think we might have the makings of a workable arrangement here, and the kitchen floor won't be so sticky!

Must tell you all, did a load of Freecycling yesterday, and used gusset and gussetless in one ad! Am going to ask for some wincyette and fablon today :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Think there's something up with York FC, though. Nothing that I posted yesterday has come through, yet.

I'm going to take DH breakfast in bed this morning, coffee, toast and HM marmalade. We'll then be back to the garden project. Great progress yesterday. Needs to be though, we planned this when we moved in 10 years ago! Get children back from camp in the early afternoon, then DH is cooking pot roast for supper, with all the veg being home grown. Will probably accompany by HM apple wine. He caught a pigeon yesterday, so has offered to pan fry the breast in the style of Hugh FW, for our lunch.

    Speak later, Penny. x
