Smashing Blouse, sorry about your nan. :grouphug:
She's obviously very special to you. The chatting and being alert are really good signs though. Everything crossed that she makes a recovery from this. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Hi everyone :hello:
:grouphug: to all those in need.
Apologies for not being on here yesterday. My class were feeling the heat and were mostly demons! Thus, I was completely and utterly exhausted, tearful etc. OH has said that he'll live where ever I can find a job, which is really sweet. I just need to work out where the best jobs are in the country with the nicest children! Anyone know?
Anyway, I'm now back in the land of vague sanity having had an afternoon without the worst boy in my class :j :j as he was in another class. Sounds awful, but it really made me appreciate the rest of the class - even if the girls did have hormonal problems to sort out"She said X" "No, but, yeah, but" etc. You get the picture. :rotfl:
OH is in Spain for the night with his work. Sounds more impressive than it is. He's just phoned me and is delighted with the fact that his room has air conditioning.....
I'm trying to decide what to have for supper as OH isn't here. My options are: beans on toast, salad with something OR fish and chips. Hmmmm....
Have a good evening everyone

Sorry, I didn't see your post ealier - I was probably typing mine as you posted.
I hope your nan is better soon, and that your IBD settles down. I have to say that mine is a lot better since I started making my own bread and drinking keifir. Any idea what triggers yours? I even tried Aloe Vera juice once - I think it helped, but to me it tasted like Harpic!!!

Thanks for the concern, both for the IBD and my nan. We have Been told that it is lung cancer, but nan is upbeat and says she has to go sometime!!.
This will mean that my mum died of breast cancer aged 41, Pap prostrate aged 84, and now possibly nan lung cancer and she is 91. I think I will have a chat with my GP to see if there are any tests I can have, as I am high risk of bowel cancer with my Colits.
The good thing though is nan has a telly and is looking forward to tonights eviction on Big Brother :rotfl:
Thanks again for your support.0 -
Hello everyone
Smashing Blouse - I'm sorry to hear about your nan. It sounds like she is the most significant and important woman in your life - and that she is good fun into the bargain. I hope she enjoys BB tonight.
Poppycracker...glad you stood your ground with OH. It must be like banging your head against a brick wall when you realise that he hasn't been listening.
KiwiChick...welcome back! Hope your new house is everything you wanted and worth the wait and hassle.
Somebody asked me the other day about the lid on my new slow cooker - Tootles, was it you? Sorry for not answering immediately but I am a right dozy mare sometimes. The lid is just a glass lid, not especially thick or heavy and just sits on top of the crock - there is no seal or anything. It is absolutely fine though, the lid does stay put, so don't worry that it's too flimsy or anything.
I'm off again, just a flying visit.
