Back at last.
Firstly and most importantly the hospital told us that everything looked as it should be. The spine and other bones were so clear on the scan. I think we got waved at...but even the person doing the scan remarked that bean was a bit of a wriggler. Especially condering the position it has gotten itself into. OH's response.....it must be awkward like its mother.
Also got a great picture of a foot (amongst 4 others). That particular one is lovely and makes us smile...so it will be kept especially for us. We do have to go back for another scan though .... yey.... in 3 weeks time. Old bean was lying in a difficult position and they couldn't get all the readings they needed to from the heart. So we have to go back so that they can sort that bit out. Turns out to be a good thing, as that is when we have OH's other daughters with us. So they can have a good look at the baby. Might be a nice surprise for them.
Asked about the sex and was told.... "can't see anything between the legs, but the cord is in the way". So chances are its going to be a girl. That was a bit disappointing for Oh as he had convinced himself that it was a boy. But as he has 2 daughters already he's started moaning about being surrounded by women. Which means I think that he's happy that everything is okay.
I know he'll love it to bits whatever it is.
So all in all....good news. The main thing is that bean is developing as she (?) should and there is nothing obviously wrong.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.

Thanks purple ... That flat is definitely the nicest one I've seen in my price range and I really wish I could afford to buy it right now  ... I really like the area round there too ... not at all posh but very green and leafy and hilly ... and that flat is reeeeeally near the station as well
... Still, will just have to see what's available once my deposit is fully sorted

That is a nice flat Bargain Rzl - I would be lucky to be able to afford that much. I always thought the bigger the deposit you have the more you can borrow, but have since been told thats wrong? Or is it?
I may buy in Hitchin, near home - its a quaint little town and easy enough to commute. Even if for investment purposes rather than anything else.
I may check out right move now.!!

rchddap - Glad the scan showed all is well- good job it was a good radiographer -lots have mistaken the cord for 'other bits' when it's been positioned 'in the way'.
Bargain - keep up the good work with saving. That flat looks lovely, I hope you get something like this when the time is right.
Hi also to everyone else - loads of posts on her and while I've read all I'm way to hot to type much (sorry) Also, had such a late night that my mind just isn't holding all the info!
Cracked on with potting up the tom plants this morning as they were well overdue. Also put up blinds in office as this room gets most sun and there was nothing on the windows. Quite a palaver to say the least!
End result is the house is untidy again - but will tackle that later this eve when it cools down (hopefully).
Took a frozen bottle of water to bed last night and I have to say it worked wonders - needless to say said bottle is back in freezer today!
I'm supposed to be cooking a pie for tonights dinner - but not only do I not feel like cooking a pie I also don't feel like eating one! Don't know what to do instead tho.... it's just sooo warm!
Normally in this weather I just barbeque, but as the dog needs to be kept off the lawn (weedkilller) I can't use the garden (he gets so upset when I'm there without him!)
Roll on the cool evening breeze!!!
Hugs and good wishes to all - esp MP (when will you hear about the job?)

afternoon.
I survived day 1 of the inspection. I was watched, and the kids did me so proud. I could visibly see them sit up straighter and work really hard for me. I couldn't believe it as my year 8s swing either way depending on mood. I think i might have to splash out on a treat for them. :rotfl: I had senior management support in my class too, so i had 3 observations in 2 lessons. Hopefully i won't get got again, but we shall see.
My inspector was so nice as well, not at all what i am used to. More concerned that i should sit down and have chance to relax more. And full of praise for how well i got on with the kids.
So i had to treat myself with sitting with my swollen ankles in cold water, and then a big bag of minstrels and a magazine. Not very money saving or diet friendly, but very deserved.
I wish we had some thunder today. Fingers crossed for this evening.
Hope all the tiddlers have enjoyed their visits to secondary school. We tend to make it pleasant for them if we can.
Rchdapp, sorry you didn't manage to find out the sex. I'm sure there must be a bit of a chance to do that next time. These babies have a mind of their own don't they when it comesto being camera shy.
Rzl - flat looks nice. I'm sure you'll get there eventually. I always thought you only needed a 10% deposit, but i suppose the more you save now the cheaper the mortgage will be. It's good to have a picture for motivation.
I think i need a bit of a snooze now before DH gets in. I still have some work to do before tomorrow but probably no more than an hours worth. I'm not going to go too mad, apart from for one lesson that i know the head will be coming in to, so i want to try and be impressive.
Michelle, xx0 -
Well, with a good credit rating, a secure job, a 10% deposit and rigorously budgeted/planned outgoings, I shouldn't think I'll have too much of a problem getting four times my salary (which was due to go up by approx £1k anyway this month for "cost of living" etc, but I've now moved departments and will be due for a bit more besides, I just don't know how much yet) ... At the moment I'm hedging my bets and calculating on just my current salary + £1k increase (plus the £1.3k per annum my choir job brings in, which is harder though not impossible to prove) ... Who knows, I'm planning to start talking to a financial advisor in September or thereabouts and aim to get a mortgage approved in principle by October/November ... Hopefully will find a place and be fully sorted and moved in by Jan/Feb (before Gordon Brown puts up the lower stamp duty threshold again and all the

Michelle - yes I do only need a 10% deposit - that's what I'm aiming for - but will need extra for legal costs, removals, appliances ....
