True. and I dont ever have it on!! Shhhh! I do hate it at my Sat job though where there's no air con..
Also, my last company had air con and it was on ALL the time - even in winter, and far too cold in the summer - you would forget it was actually summer it was that cold. Even in the winter it would be warmer outside!! I absolutely hated it, so I think thats why I love being warm now.

ms_london ... (sorry about the crap formatting btw) ... I haven't actually physically viewed any properties yet but am keeping an eye on Rightmove to monitor what's available ... I have worked out that if I itemise what the savings are actually for, it'll take me until August/September for a decent deposit, and the rest of the year to save for my costs ... Am expecting a payrise (don't know how much but it will be backdated to yesterday! Yay!) which will make a bit of a difference, though not much in the grand scheme of things ... Am saving at a rate of about £600 a month at the mo but should be able to double this in November and December after "fast-tracking" the filling up of other budget pots for the current calendar year, so I'll have nothing left to pay for until January IYSWIM (I figured this method would give me a truer picture of how much of my money was ACTUALLY available to save, IYSWIM, so if I was in the position of being able to buy slightly early, I could re-draft my living expenses budget straightaway. Does that make sense?) ... I'm on schedule to hit my £15k savings target in December but who knows what a difference a pay rise might make ... Thanks for noticing
... You must be thrilled to be about to go off travelling :j :j ... Got to go ... need to pay my HSBC bill (a small stooze not a debt
) ... Catch you later

Sorry, I did mean just keeping an eye out for properties rather than actually visiting any. I LOVE looking at property websites and since I work in an estate agents on the sat, they dont mind if I spend hours looking at property websites (dont need to know that its not related to work, hehe!!).
I was thinking of saving around the same when I get a house - you are doing very well - I'll pop in here to find out if/when you find something!! How exciting!!
I feel as though I'll spend the rest of my life saving, but at least its saving rather than paying off debt I suppose.
I am definately excited about going, although it feels to good to be true at the moment and I know I have said it before, and I hate saying it, I am half convinced my plane will crash on the way out there - thats the kind of luck I have!! I must put it out of my mind!
I cant wait to buy a property (after my travelling of course) - and may buy a few buy-to-lets eventually too. Its so exciting & it would be fab to have a place of my own as I think I will have had enough of sharing soon!!
Sorry to ramble.

Hi Yall, another hot 'n' sticky day here in the emids, the atmosphere was much nicer over at the coast last weekend and as the temperature rose a degree for every mile I wished I didn't have to head back inland. Shouldn't complain the nights are already drawing in LOL.
Went to see Big MATHLETTS new school last night, right trendy and very American in style, school proms, rows and rows of lockers and teachers who bound up to you and say "call me Misty" and look about 12 LOL.
There we parents mingled in this "enviroment of learning" with a sort of bemused look on our faces, why was there no lingering whiff of boiled cabbage and not a scrap of bottle green serge to be seen anywhere. I think I may have embarrased myself and MATHLETT (although I just have to breath to nark him!) by uttering the phrase "Secondary Modern" in the Principles hearing and querying whether the "Masters" were not wearing their gowns due to the heat. I gleaned that faded denim and flip-flops are the new badge of academia. LOL So by those standards I must be a right brain box. (I had to edit this bit cos I typed 'Brian box' maybe I'm wearing my flip-flops on the wrong feet. LOL
Sampled the new and improved school dinners. Not fizzy drinks or choccy on campus (another Americanism eh!). I wolfed down the chicken tika wrap, a roasted vegetable pitta and some flap-jack and made a mental note to sneak in each day with a family of five sized tupper. LOL I won't be detected the teachers may only look about 12 but the kidz look as if they a stroking up for 40 if they are a day.
MATHLETT is allowed to use his mobile phone and mp3 player between classes and at breaktimes providing they are silent in lesson time but Clackers are still banned LOL:rotfl: so progress of sorts.
Well I'm off to price up his uniform now so if you hear hysterical laughter ringing out from the emids quickly followed by wailing an gnashing of teeth you will know it's only moi.
Luv 'n' hugs to all

Hi everyone!
Nicky- it's my OH's birthday today as well. Hence got a cake to decorate when I get back and all the family are over this evening for a slice. I'm afraid that he's not having a special tea although Balti turkey I'm sure will go down well. He's headed off for the day with the small person to the NT garden Hinton Ampner as the school is closed due to the Headmistress' funeral.
OH will be dead chuffed when he finds out that one of his pressies is a trip to see Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm going along merely to check the standard of Johnny Depp's acting skills...I find this to be a necessary procedure everytime he brings out a new film which is thankfully very regularly!!:D
I shall need to do a few bits in town before heading home and producing meals etc etc. We managed to rehang the gate last night...it looks so much better since it's been repainted.
Not too much else planned other than possibly some mending jobs but shall have to see how I feel. I wouldn't want to overexert myself in all this heat would I now...the government has told me not to take overstrenous exercise!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

ms_london - there seems to be lots of nice stuff in my price range - have worked out I can up the budget a bit as I can probably get a mortgage for 4x salary and my outgoings would still be do-able ... here is one of the nicest places I've spotted that's currently on the market ... http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-4771924.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy ... hope the link works as my formatting problems really aren't helping  ... Just really hoping I can still get something for this price or under in six months time so I don't have to (a) be really overstretched or (b) pay stamp duty!

am sitting in canary wharf tower and its pouring and I can see big flashes of lightening and hear thunder!!!!! hope the conductors have been done on this building properly:whistle:
gonna get wet on way home, but i have a carrier bag i can put on my head (lovely eh??)
Had quite a nice 2nd day actually, had a nice walk earlier, lovely to see everyone sitting in park having their lunches etc - much better than working in east ham high street (no offence to anyone that does work there! eek)0 -
Shez, am currently enjoying the same storm but across the river from you!
Has freshened things up a bit, and the garden will be grateful.:D
I hear carrier bags will be all the rage today, but hope it's a bit upmarket:rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Afternoon
MATH-Ive missed you hun. You always cheer my day up:D:rolleyes:
Well the weather has broken and we have heavy thunder and rain storms here ATM. Hopefully the tennis wont be cancelled as I love Wimbledon-although it was too hot for them yesterday.
Have put the DW on and the WM. Clothes will be hung on airer once done.
OH has gone to the first PA meeting at DD's new school before she comes out at 3, so dare say he will be loaded up with forms and leaflets..LOL. DD has made him promise that he wont do too much or get too involved:D :rotfl:
OH did some ironing earlier and I have pottered around downstairs doing not alot really. Have sorted through aload of paperwork, made several calls and sent numerous emails.
Have decided with the pushing of my OT who was here last Friday that I am going to apply for my DLA to be raised to the high rate mobility. Called them and the forms are on route to me. So nervous as I know what these DLA people can be like and I hate form filling, but have been told I dont have to fill in the care section, just the mobility sectionHave full backing from GP, OT and social worker, so am going to ask for a small letter from all of them to speed it up. Hopefully with the Stairlift, other help I receive (personal care/cleaner), blue disabled badge, the fact that I use a wheelchair or on a good day crutches, and them funding a walk in shower-they will be able to see that my mobility is very limited:rotfl: ...we will see though, and please everyone keep their fingers x'd! I wont hold my breath though.
Anyway, Ive got to go and make a cup of tea and have some biccies:o
