I too have been having loads of problems, we checked out wireless router and thats ok, then Orange announced that it was them that had been having problems - but I am interested in the "packages" for transmission, what do you have to do???

    Right Shez, here goes!:o

Iwas having trouble only with this site. I have to get into the router settings and adjust the MTU setting. No I haven't a clue what MTU stands for, DS2 just explained it to feeble-minded me as a package size for transmitting data. He said it has to be sent in bits not all at once and this was the maximum size of each bit. For MSE I had to reduce it down. Then down again when it next failed.
I later found out that DS4 had trouble with a site he was using and had to adjust it UP again, but luckily it doesn't seem to have affected me. I know there were others having problems with just this site and for some of us the common link was BT and PIPEX. They were talking about it on the techie board, but way too advanced for me!!

I expect that's all as clear as mud:D

    Hi everyone!
Blimey a whole hour since anyone added anything to the thread. It must be a record!!
Hugs to everyone who needs one.
We had a good weekend if rather a strange one really as Friday pm was ended with the small person's headmistress' memorial service. It was held in a marquee on the field and each child let off a balloon at the end. I didn't dare go as I'd have struggled to keep it together. The small person didn't seem unduly upset..I'm not sure if that's simply his age, his Aspergers or because he takes a fairly straightforward approach to it. He did say he was middle sad that Mrs R had died but he'd be top sad if it was me or OH so I think he's ok with it.
Sat was my mum's 60th and we had a most splendid day. The Pamper Hamper and the HM birthday cake went down a treat. We all went out for a Thai lunch and the small person and my 4yo niece tried everything. The small person looked rather shocked when he took a huge bite of some chilli fish and reached for his water very rapidly:j He wasn't quite so gung ho after that!!
Yesterday we had a cream tea accompanied by a handbell concert in one of the ringers gardens [OH is a tower bell ringer] It was delicious and an awfully British way to spend an afternoon...under parasols with our cuppas and moaning about the heat. I believe there must only be 4 days a year when us Brits are happy with the weather [myself included:D ] but then what on earth would we talk about!!
Back to earth with a bump last night as one of OH's uncles has taken a very bad fall and is not expected to survive [he's 80 but very youthful] so OH has had to make an unexpected trip to Reading. We shall have to postpone the surprise trip we had planned down to the beach for the evening until later on in the hols.
So all in all very little OS although did clean my windows and we've taken out an ICICI account. Better get the nose back to the grindstone.
    Have a good day

Hello everybody. What does OS stand for? I just know it is going to be obvious and I'll be really embarrassed but I just can't think what it can be.

    OS stands for Old Style

    Afternoon all

Quiet here at the moment with little ones asleep.

Been doing a bit of gardening but it's far to hot out there now, relaxing infront of the fan to regain a bit of energy to go on the school run.

Really lacking inspiration with food at the moment - don't think we've all had more than 2 meals together in the last few weeks, all just seem to be picking at what ever takes our fancy.

Roll on tomorrow 3pm when the kids break up - I love having them at home and have loads of things planned, day trips, beach trips, craft days and bike rides, days at the park and some fence murals too.

Hugs to all who need them.

Tra OS stands for Old Style. Please always ask if you do ever wonder. There's no such thing as a stupid question apart from possibly in my case "do you want a glass of wine?" To which the answer is always "yes" unless I am not conscious!!

    Part of the Furniture
I'm feeling quite chuffed with myself because i've done loads of fiddly two minute jobs (mainly paperwork) that i have been putting off for ages because i hate ringing up strange people. So, next on the list is put a lot of old bits through the shredder, and file all other paperwork laying around.

I am not so good at this, and have just been chucking it in a big pile on the desk upstairs. Now is judgement day i think. It won't look like i've done a lot today, but i will have.

I've also got 4 loads through the WM and on the line drying. I am determined i will get so organised that this place will run itself and i can enjoy the baby. I think i may also start sorting out my household manual this week. I've been putting it off since buying the Pukka pad the other week as i didn't want to spoil it. :rotfl:

Plans for the rest of the day, an early tea of some sort of salad for me, as i have a clinic to attend at the surestart centre (6:30-8:30pm) about breast feeding. My mate has promised to go with me, and it should be a good opportunity to meet some other people from this area as we haven't really got to know that many people since moving here.

I am coping much better with the heat now i don't have to go to work. :T

    Bye for now,
    Michelle, xx
