morning.
I managed a lovely lie in till 9 today. I think i must have really needed it. It was so delightfully cool that i actually felt chilly, so DH shut the windows as he left, and i feel more refreshed than i have in weeks.
I had originally thought i might go into school today and do my sorting out. ??However, as i was up late i think i will do some washing, and sort through lots of school stuff, as i can be a lot more ruthless now its the end of term. Plus, DH left the recycling bag in the middle of the living room floor for me to fill, as the cats were taking it in turns to sit on my piles of paper and knock them all over. I'm sure they think that is helping. :rotfl:
I have vaguely thought to myself that i should try and get through most of my big list of stuff in the next two weeks before our hols, and then have the rest of the time for organising the baby's room and relaxing, before babysitting my two nephews for the last week of the hols. I've loads of books i want to read, but the start of my maternity leave should be plenty of time for that.
PP - hope the hospital visit isn't as traumatic as you think.
Ajax and Vicky - good luck with the last minute wedding stuff, and remember to have plenty of time to pamper yourself this week.
well best get on,
Michelle, xx0 -
Good morning!
PP - hope it's not too bad today
VickyA & Ajax18 - hope all the last minute preparations are fine & that you have a wonderful day on Saturday. Did you realise that it will be exactly 25 years to the day that Charles & Diana got married? I wish you both much more happiness in your marriages than they had.
Actually, we have been thinking about our wedding a lot this week, as it is our 25th anniversary tomorrow (hence the reason I remember the C&D date - it was very much in the news at the time of our wedding) & we will be having a celebration on Saturday. We decided to have an "open house" so people can pop in any time from 4pm. DD is co-ordinating the food from Portsmouth, organising it all - she says I am not supposed to do any of the work!!!
Weather is lovely again, so 2 lots of washing out on line - just got loads of tidying to do now. And I've got to get the spare rooms ready for DD, her OH & DGDs to stay (and she thinks I won't have to do any work???)
Have a good day!0 -
Morning all!
Have been trying to post for 4 days but computer keeps saying "Cannot find server" - I think it's something to do with the heat, though DS, who's an IT techie, says its to do with the wireless connection. All I can say is, it's a pain! Anyway will keep it short today as it's so frustrating when you spend ages typing then lose it when you try to post it!
((((((HUGS)))))) to everyone who needs one - in fact have one anyway!:p
Extra big ((((HUGS)))) to those going through a difficult day, especially thinking of Smashing Blouse and Penny-Pincher!
Kiwichick - So nice to have you back! We really missed you. Glad you are settling in nicely in your new home - the garden sounds brilliant!:D
Bargain Rzl - good luck with the flat, it looks lovely and sounds ideal for you!:j
Moggins - Hope you and ExDH manage to sort things out. (((HUGS)))
I've got the place to myself today as DH and DS have gone to the Motor Show! Bliss, I can spend ages on MSE if I want to......am managing to get housework done in between visits!:D
Better go now and see if i can manage to post this!

VickyA wrote:Ajax - many best wishes for Saturday! I'm getting married too - on Saturday! Hence why I'm on here...............
Penny Pincher - hugs to you.
I've got to try and pack for our honeymoon as I'm scooting off to my parents' house this afternoon. I won't be back home for 3 weeks - but I will make sure that I use their internet access to get a bit of relaxation!
I went to see my Chief Bridesmaid yesterday as her and her husband had a bbq for lunch. OH was invited too, but he's got an exam on Thursday morning that he's paying for so needs to pass! It was lovely to see her and just have a little bit of a relax too. I was completely exhausted when I got back and managed to sleep for 2 hours on the sofa!
I've weighed myself this morning and ! I think that the dog will be getting plenty of walks when I get to the parents!
See you all later
Vicky
What a conincidence :T Getting married on the same day... Well let's keep our fingers crossed the wheather stays sunny and warm. I can't wait. I am so excited that all my family is coming over from Germany. I never really see them much. It's gonna be fab. I wish you all the best for your day :j0 -
tootles wrote:Johanne,
Have a look at flights to Paris, we booked with BMI Baby for £106 in October, they were selling flights for £7.99 with taxes added.
We leave early in the morning which gives us the afternoon in Paris and fly back late in the evening, we will be home for bedtime. If you look at Hotel.com you can book hotels for reasonable rates.......ours was £132.00 for 3 nights, we have to pay extra for breakfast but thats not a problem.....if you do not want to eat in the hotel there are plenty of cafes where you can eat french style.......if your OH has lived in Paris he will know the best places to go.
We went for a weekend 2 years ago, there was lots we did not see, hence our visit in October, we are going in the week, no children, jobs etc..hoping that places will not be so crowded but Paris is popular what ever the season.
I said about flying .... as we can fly direct from john lennon airport (20 mins away) to Charles De Gaulle.. but OH doesnt wanna fly.... he wants to drive over as its more scenic.... and something about "more duty free in the back of a car" Plus it means we dont have to rent a car over there too.. i'll work on him though... hehe!0 -

Really? Wow, that will make my mum happy I think0 -
Ivyleaf, just to say I was having those can't find server problems a few weeks ago. Your DS is right it's something to do with the wireless router and this site. Got round it by reducing the size of the "packages" for transmission. That sounds like I know what I'm doing doesn't it? Nothing could be further from the truth:rotfl: DS2 set me up with step by step idiot instructions to get round the problem. Sometimes had to do it 2 or 3 times a day, but everything crossed it's been OK lately! You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

Moggins (((HUGS))) I agree with you tho, a 12 year old shouldnt really be drinking beer (a sip is one thing, a proper drink is another!!!), but like you said, when XDH is drinking himself, prob isnt thinking properly, so hopefully you will be able to talk much better today x
Rzl - goodness, you are busy, at least your operas should take your mind of the flat, hope the news comes sooner rather than later!!!!!
Smashing blouse - hope all has gone k, special hugs to you on a difficult day xx
Well, ive had a productive morning so far, bathroom and toilet cleaned (including the tiles!!!!), WM done and hung up, BM on and nearly finished (lovely smell coming from the kitchen!!!) and ive just made and drunk a lovely strawberry and banana smoothie, so feeling quite healthy!!!! Ive also sorted out some things for a car boot sale, when i goto my mums in August, im taking the bits with me, as we are hoping to do one together then. Ive also been playing cars with the little ones, whilst the older one is watching the first pirates of the carribean, i think his mum is planning on taking him to see the second one later in the week.
Well, better go and do somemore, have a good afternoon,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

I too have been having loads of problems, we checked out wireless router and thats ok, then Orange announced that it was them that had been having problems - but I am interested in the "packages" for transmission, what do you have to do???0 -
Morning all!
Had a good birthday yesterday, went out for a curry with OH and my friend who bought me several lovely pressies including a model of a chef who is holding a notice saying "I've never met a calorie I didn't like!):D and 3 lovely chocolate scented candles that look good enough to eat! as well as a lovely shell necklace. I'm very lucky;)
Disaster here today. OH went back to work after a month off with a bad back and was sent home by his boss after an hour as he wasn't up to it! I knew this but you cant tell him, you know what men are like! so he's off for at least another 8 days(basic sick pay so need to tighten our belts considerably to get through the next month:( )
Hugs to PP and Moggins! and anyone else in need!
Catch you later!
