PP I fully agree with Queenie, you can get through it. Neither of my sisters have forgiven my parents and they have little to do with them, luckily I got the chance to really talk with my Mum and understand why she was the way she was.

Understanding how her life had been went a long way towards me being able to forgive if not forget and we have a fantastic relationship now. I have to put strict rules on them seeing the children and I have told them before now that if they row in my house in front of my children they will never be allowed in my house again but they understand that all I want from life now is peace and that I'm not trying to be nasty to them, just trying to save myself and my family from the past.

  • Hi all,

Haven't posted for a few days, problems with NTL.

Saw the Pet Shop Boys in Thetford forest on friday. They were fantastic!!

I am feeling so tired at the moment, fell asleep at 8 last night and didn't wake untill 8 this morning.

Have been to the pictures to see garfield, very good film. Having a BBQ later if the weather holds, as my brother is here from Hong Kong for nan's funeral tomorrow.

Have a good day all, and a happy birthday to Taplady.

    Afternoon.

quick visit today from me. Happy birthday Taplady.

Me and DH are having a bit of a lazy day. He is shattered from working away yesterday. I've done a bit of tidying, and we both had a trip to ASDA and tried to be restrained after my big splurge yesterday. Had a few essentials to get though like new cat flea collars, but now it is done before they go to the cattery next month.

It is another hot one here today and i can't really be bothered to do much. Oh well, as long as i do a bit of someting each day i'll get there.

    Have a nice day everyone,
    Michelle, xx

    Happy Birthday Taplady :j

I had a bit of a crap day really. Played a gig and didn't get home til 2 am  OH was on his stag do. I can never sleep when I am on my own in the flat so had a pretty sleepless night...

Got up early to wash dishes and write a cd review. Then decided to go to IKEA to buy a futon at around noon. I just got back!! IKEA is 15 minutes away from me but the train and shuttle service was so bad that it took me 1 1/2 hours to get there and 1 h to get back :-( Got a great futon though... I wish I had a car...

Will go to tesco now and cash in my rachel organic vouchers. have been looking forward to that all weekend and am hoping that some nice organic free yoghurt might cheer me up...

Hope everyone is having a good sunday...

    Oh dear!!!

Just had a most embarrassing moment :o:o:o

OH and i were talking last night and he mentioned as its my 21ST birthday in sept he might treat me (money permitting) to a weekend in Paris as ive always wanted to go.. and hes lived there for 2 years so knows the place really well and all the best places etc...!!!

So as u can imagine i was excited! Never been on holiday before.. and have always wanted to go.. and Paris for my 21st with my OH would be a dream come true!!! So when i was doing my clickthroughs on pigsback just now i noticed one for Eurostar... think it was 1000 piggypoints for booking.. so i thought "i'll just take a peek at the prices..." so clicked.... starting filling in the form for like what day we'd be travelling etc etc....... then comes the embarrassing bit...... how many tickets... so i go to check "2 adults" but realise....the adult catergory is 26-59..... so id be in the "Youths" category... which is 12-25...

So not only am i counted as a "youth" :( .... BUT ....my OH is 30...... so we'd have to book "1 adult, 1 youth" tickets! :o:o

He thinks its funny.... i just feel embarrassed. :o

Johanne - I would love to be in 'youth' catergory!! :D

Im 'only' 37 but to my kids Im ancient.

Theres a lot of 40th's this year my oh's is soon. Not much else could have been going on in 1965/1966.

Queenie I know what you mean - I have spent a lot of time transferring cd's to the ipod and kept discovering songs I had forgotton about which brought back lots of memories. My dd keeps telling me off for keep putting 80's music on there.

PP As Queenie said you wont forget what happened in your childhood but you can still have a relationship with your mum, it just might be different from most others. I do with my mum, we can get on well when we see each other but we dont live in each others pockets. I sometimes envy people with really close relationships with their mothers but everyones life is different.

Had a lovely time at the caravan, chilled listened to (80's) music and read, forgot how much I loved Depeche Mode and Duran Duran..lol.

Got very hot so we came home and jumped in the kids pool and cooled off very rapidly. Kids bought a couple of friends home with them so they are happy and occupied at the mom.

Just doing a bit of tidying up then the dreaded ironing which I keep putting off but not today, will do it watching the new vet programme which started last week - cant remember what its called.

Enjoy the last bit of the weekend.

A good start turned into a bad day.

I spent the morning preparing supper, doing veg and cooking a mixed fruit crumble. OH came home from the allotment and we had lunch....after lunch he went to switch on the TV and it died!!!!! It was not an expensive one, bought 8 years ago for under £100, I did a bit of research on the internet but we ended up going to Tesco, I got a flat screen for £199.00 reduced from £300 they are re-modeling our store and the electrical department is the next to be done so they have reduced all the TV's etc................it took me ages to set it up and I still have not been able to sort the freeview box, but I must admit it has a super picture much clearer than our old set.....

So We have a new TV but I am £200 the poorer!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only plus is that I will get 300 tesco points towards Christmas, my balance is 2100 so £21 worth of vouchers to add to the ones I already have.......I see a months shopping coming up in December...............maybe a couple of bottles as well.

Just a few spots of rain its been very muggy this afternoon, its quite black right now............according to the news the midlands have had bad electrical storms and a lot of homes are cut off.
