Good Morning
DS has gone on holiday this morning, Spain the lucky devil.... hes 8 and he managed to save £35.00 from his birthday money so with extra bits he was given he's got £47.50 to spend......I'd better get a pressie :rotfl: so its me and the girls til August 14th.
Didnt get up til 9.30  cant believe a 4 and 5 yr old didnt wake up sooner but im not complaining. Going to clean DS bedroom today (this will be the longest it stays tidy for haha) and sort through the girls wardrobe, Ill decide what to do next when Ive finished that. (assuming I get out of DS bedroom alive!!!!)

Had a fairly productive morning:D . Unintentionally made DH feel guilty about his lack of help around the house so he didn't go to the gym and is now up a ladder cleaning bedroom windows.
Done some washing and am about to start ironing and have tonight's meal in the slow cooker.
DS wants to be woken at 12.45 at which time he will have had 5 hours sleep and will be impossible to wake but he is playing cricket this afternoon.0 -
I shall have to go bootsaleing in the rain again. I've come back with loads of bargains
A huge sack full of clothes for DD for £4 and it's all Next and M & S and Barbie stuff
New speakers for DH's stereo, a picnic hamper (unfortunately empty but I already have all the stuff to go in it) for 50p. Books, videos, ample craft stuff etc for the kids for the hols.
And a black stetson for moi for £4!!Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -

LOL, he loved me even more for the interactive ET
The speakers are huge!! DH hasn't been able to use his stereo since last year when one of the speakers died so he is a happy chap.
12 videos for DD (mostly Disney), 6 videos for DS, 1 Barbie cassette player, 1 pink trolley case, 3 lego bionicle sets, 3 cassettes for the car, 1 scart splitter, 2 cassettes and 1 CD for DD, and 2 large miniature playsets (complete with all figures) for DD, 10 Anne McCaffrey books for me and a large Lilliput Lane Cottage (£3) plus 3 recorders (one soprano) with instruction books
Just worked out that with everything I bought I spent £40 exactly. If I'd wanted a steamer, coffee maker, hand mixer or a dishwasher I'd have been okay too but not a Kenwood Chef in sightOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Afternoon Peeps:D
Ma & Pa have just left and have about 2 hrs till our friends arrive:rolleyes: ....no rest for the wicked:p Just as mum was leaving she gave me envelope containing £250 towards DD's uniform...Im gob smacked to say the least:eek: ...maybe she's not sooo bad:D This means I have all funds now for dd's uniform and am very pleased-I apreciate their generiousity (sp) alot. Mum told me I look thin and ill. Although I speak with her weekly on the phone, I rarely tell her how I am, idle chit chat really. I get the feeling she wants to have a better relationship with me, but I keep trying and trying with her, but I find it difficult to erase all the bad memories from my childhood.
Anyway, hope everyone is having a nice day. Its alot cooler today, but looks like we;re in for hotter weather this week:eek:
Hugs all.

You will never erase all those bad memories, but you *can* come to terms with them in ways that you can deal with and then, hopefully, move forward into a healthier relationship with your Mum where you can both find a degree of mutual respect/affection which will give you both a level of satisfaction.
Have you ever read to your DD the story "Bear Hunt"? (Great l'il story for young un's) Basically about any problems they encounter, the chant goes, "You can't get under it; you can't get *over* it; you *can* get through it!" It's a lovely way of expressing how to deal with life's good/bad and uglyHoping *you* can get "through it".
taplady - :T :T Lovely gifts!! Enjoy your meal this evening~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
