Hi everyone
Just one hour of Black Saturday to go...ie get this horrible 40th birthday out of the way. As you can guess I am sitting here not exactly celebrating - but I do have a nice large glass of chilled white to see me through.
These past few days my laptop has been overheating and cutting out, been driving me nuts! Today I got some "spray duster" stuff and gave it a good blast into my laptop's vents. After a lot of fiddling with a pin and lots of puffing I got about half a handful of cat hair out from the fans on the underneath of the computer. Errr no wonder it's been overheating! It's a lot quieter too. It was £8 for a tin of air but money well spent I reckon.
Dorry, thank you for your note from earlier this evening. It must be so hard for you but I'm glad that you have found some comfort from your fellow MSE-ers. We'll always be here when you need a virtual hug.
IceMaiden - I am totally green with jealousy! I love New York, please do send us a virtual postcard...
Zed42 - ugh paint colours!!! Those silly colour cards are worse than useless! When I got my house painted I went to B&Q and literally picked up the tins of paint that looked like they might be alright. There wasn't an awful lot of thought or effort put into it at all - the house looks fine though (and yes I picked paint for the whole house using this rather random method!). I hope you manage to pick on you like. If it's not right you can paint over it...not that I would wish that on you!
Moggins....I'M YOUNGER THAN YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Bye for now all, see you tomorrow.

Thanks for that Snowy!! I'm getting used to being an old fogey
My DH says you are only as old as the man that you feel so that really makes me 31Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hello Moggins! I haven't got a man - how old does that make me? Can I have a feel of yours so that I can be 31 again? (Ha ha ha, joke joke joke before you blacken my eye!).
:D

Snowy, you're a mere babe, I can give you 10 years!!
I have celebrated your birthday with a glass or three, now I know it's a special one I'll make the extra effort! Just for you, you understand, I'll derive no pleasure from it!:rotfl: Enjoy what's left of your day!!You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

Right, that's it, I'm divorcing him! Much as I love him he's years older than me, so I'll try for a younger model!:D Does it still work if you have to bribe them?:rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Thank you Churchmouse! What pain you so willingly and selflessly invite in my honour. Your suffering is duly acknowledged and appreciated. As it's my 40th Churchmouse drain the bottle!! Make yourself suffer...go on!!! Then you can forget those 10 years (Hey moggins somebody is older than you!!)

Drain the bottle, I'm opening a new one. It's important to suffer in a good cause!!You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

Ha ha Churchmouse! You are fantastic at this suffering business. I suspect you have had a significant amount of practice...??0

In fifty years, Snowy, one gets ample opportunity for self-sacrifice!:A
One thinks constantly of one's friends family etc etc. One hopes you are not suggesting one is a lush?:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
<grin> at you two, dedicated to the end!
Well, summer pudding made and wine being consumed. DH just informed me he wants a lie-in in the morning so I'm on "early doors" with DD .... can't complain too hard, I had a lie-in this morning, even if it was only to 08:50 as it was too hot to lie there any longer!
Well, we've (that'll be the royal "we") have put the testers on the wall .. and I'm not sure if we're any closer! As you say, we can paint over it, and bluntly in this room that's a minor thing! DH has changed all the floor joists, floor, re-plastered the walls from brick, fixed the ceiling ... and the windows are being made this week. Paint surely, is the easy bit ... ha ha. So, why is it we've been doing this room for a year, and it's only today we decide to look at colours! Just wait for when we realise we need light fittings! Oops!GC - March 2024 -0
