Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
Back from school  I ended up staying until 1.45 when originally I only went in to drop DD off and hand out gifts  Spur of the moment decision to attend the leavers assembly and then the tears started. The headteacher is retiring today after 23 years at the school and since she is my old class teacher & acting head, then made headteacher in 2000, now she's been headteacher for my DD for 2 years it was all a bit upsetting for everyone.:cry::cry:

Ended up hanging around and getting some and then taking some photographs for the website which I've ended up leaving on the computer there:mad: I can't get them until September now so I might just go in next week with my digital camera and take some new ones without the kids being about. :D

Need to go and get something to eat as I've not eaten since breakfast at 8am and my head feels like it's in a vice. Won't be about now as we're out tonight and then go away tomorrow morning overnight to IL's so I'll "see" you all Monday
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

Sorry to butt in on this thread but you def need to keep eye on him if hes got 25 acres..colic is the least of the problems. Laminitis is a much more serious prospect. Please, Please keep a close eye on him - it is a horrible condition. nearly lost one of our mares last year through it, and still have her on drugs and special shoes. It so so painful and potentially lethal and is often started by too much grass.

Hope you dont mind my 4pennorth but i would not like anyone to go through what we had to in the last 12 months. PS Its also BLOODY expensive!!

    Hello everyone :D

Not had chance to read through yet but will re-post in a bit when I've had chance to do so but I need to get some of my bewilderment off my chest and I know that I'll find sympathy with you OSers...

Basically I sent off for a freebie sample of Bold's new Apple Blossom and Lime Zest 2-in-1... it arrived today and smells fab but they have sent me a 142g pack on which it says it will do 1 WASH!!!!!!!! how on earth can anybody ever fall for such a con as are the recommended usage guidelines on washing powder... I mean thats nearly 150g of washing powder!! Surely that would clog up your machine??? It was a fab freebie - and my goodness I'm not moaning for getting it - I was just bewildered as to how anyone could think they need 150g of washing powder per load?!?! It looked to be a huuuge amount when I decanted it into an airtight container for storage....

Anyway, enough of that now - I'm off to read through this thread and hopefully post some witty comments/replies when I'm done ;)

    OK here we go:

BargainRzl - the flat looks gorgeous - similar to the one we're in now. Furniture makes a huuuge difference aswel :)

Penelope Penguin - ooohhh New York!! Hope you have a fab time - we're saving up for a trip there late next year as its somewhere me and OH have always wanted to go

rchddap1 - Good luck with the girls for the next fortnight...

Dorry - BIIIIIIIG HUGS to you today :grouphug:

:hello: to all the newbies that have arrived in my absence

:grouphug: to all of you who have been getting tearful at the little 'uns leavers assemblies... and of course to those who have poorly relatives (((get well soon)))

Have spent the day trying to balance our finances a bit - I've had so much to pay this month that I am seriously in the red and am just trying to come up with new ways to create cash!! Start my second job on Monday at the cafe I've worked at for the last 4 summers. It's only 3 - 4 mornings a week and the wage isn't fantastic but I enjoy it and get free food so all is good :D And I can still work at the jewellers although I am now getting seriously fed up as my manager has decided to take me off my Sunday (time and a half!!) contract without telling me and has also had the cheek(!!!) to go on holiday this week so I can't even confront him about it

Landlord is popping over later so need to get the place looking spotless, although it's actually not in too bad a state as I'm getting into a cleaning routine now that the move is all done and all the furniture is assembled and in it's proper place :)

Just preparing dinner, and I thought I'd let you know it's really nice! We are having roast pepper, garlic and mushroom risotto... (serves 2)

Roast peppers under the grill until skin is turning black and blistered
fry mushrooms and garlic in the pan and add 1 can of chopped tomatoes
cut roasted peppers into little pieces (leave the skin on) and add to the frying pan
add parsley, salt, pepper and basil

transfer mixture into a frying pot and add 1 1/2 cups of brown or risotto rice. Boil for two minutes

Add 1/2 litre of vegetable stock and then add vegetable stock when the previous water has been soaked up etc...

have a great rest of the day. I am going bowling tonight :j

(((((dorry))))) very sorry to hear about your dad.

I am so pleased to have survived to today. I am feeling absolutely shattered, and i didn't manage to get all of my tidying done, so i know it will have to be next week. Though at least i won't have to be there at any silly times.

I'm not going to do anything tonight. I am going to veg out on the settee, and then start tomorrow by writing a list of everything that i will need to do before my hols in just over two weeks time.

I'm feeling quite dehydrated from attending a BBQ at the vicarage, and sitting in the heat. I tried to find a shaded spot, but there wasn't much really, and all the chairs got taken and no-one offered me one. so i sat on the grass for a bit until i couldn't manage any longer, then had to stand.

caught up with another colleague who had her baby 3 months ago, and she had bought me a baby pressie, bless her. I was very touched at that, as i wouldn't have even thought that she knew i was pregnant as i didn't announce it till she had gone. Found out another work colleague is pregnant, so i can imagine the head is pulling his hair out with us.

Going to have a kip now so i can make it through a nice evening with DH. Hope you are all finding the heat a bit better today.

    :hello: Hi Kaz I'm here!

Have logged on very briefly a couple of times today. Tried to read everyone's posts. I've had my GS all day, and he's been a real trial today, think it's the heat!

Also felt strangely "down" and I don't know why. Certainly haven't got the problems some of you are going through. Did wonder if it's now hitting me losing my mum im March. She was my world and I don't feel I've grieved, because my Dad is an absolute pain. Won't go into details just yet.

Anyway glad to see those who have good news and (((hugs))) to those who have had bad.

Hope all the children are now feeling wonderfully free!!! (It's only six weeks mums:rotfl: :rotfl: ) Actually I used to love having mine home. No I'm not a saint, I just liked the freedom of no timetables to be adhered to!!!

I'll get off and hope to pop back later!!

    Evening everyone :hello:

((((dorry)))) really sorry to hear of your loss.

Bargain Rzl - excellent news on the flat front! It looks perfect.

Well, I can now breathe! It's the end of term at last. My class were up the wall today, but it was still sad to say goodbye to them. The worst boy (behaviour) in the class said "thank you" to me, which was lovely. His mum was also grateful, which was just as nice. It makes it all worth while!

Tonight, I've got my work "hen do". One of the teachers is opening her garden up to a Pimms party for myself and another teacher who is getting married, with everyone supplying part of the nibbles! :j :j OH is supposed to be driving me there so that I can have a couple of glasses of Pimms!

Anyway, I'd better go and get ready as I need to leave just after 7pm. Whoops
