Catzine - glad to hear that DD is recovering from her op. I'm sure all the TLC she is receiving from you is making it all worth while!
Bargain Rzl - you obviously have my share of patience. I would be going 'round the bend waiting to hear! As they say tho - all good things to those who wait!!!
Kitchen tidied and cleaned, banana loaf in BM, some papers filed, wash load on line, another about to go out then another in - then quick call to hospital. If she's able to go home then that'll take until it's time to pick up the boys.
I thought it would be cooler today, but I'm melting allready! Wish it was the flab melting away...

It's OK Shez, the HA agent isn't in the office today, so assured me yesterday that as long as I could get all my documentation in today by fax, I'd stay at the front of his queue for Monday ;) ... And Rzl is back in the lead ... ;)

It's a very easy recipe basically:_

About 1 +1/2 lb root veg ( I find 4 medium spuds, 4 carrots, 1 lg onion 2 or 3 lg parsnips are enough)
    1+1/2 pints stock
    small knob of butter
    about 1/4 pint milk
    very small dash of vinegar
    seasoning

Just peel and slice the vegetables into smallish pieces.

Pop into a large saucepan add a small dash of vinegar (brings out the flavour) and 1+ 1/2 pints of stock. Bring to the boil and then turn down and simmer until the veg is tender.

Remove from heat and strain veg into a colander saving the stock in a jug. Put veg into a blender or processor and slowly add the stock and blend. Pour back into saucepan and heat through. Add a small knob of butter, stirring until melted and then add a little milk until soup is the consistency you like (I add about 3 fl oz as I like the soup quite thick). Season and serve with lots of hm bread. I love lots of black pepper in mine.

Me too! i just keep popping back on and reading a bit more until I have kept up.

DD is still a bit wobbly and woozy so have to watch her near the stairs. It can take 48 hrs for the general anesthetic to wear off though and she didn't go down to the op theartre till 4pm yesterday so to be expected. I think she is enjoying the tlc though. We are going to work our way through all the films I managed to get at fantastic prices at the boot sales in Wales. Have just watched Strictly Ballroom again, a classic!

By the way Dorry ... Just looked back at my post #51 and realised that cos I can't do paragraphs, it looks like I'm being really selfish and dismissing you to talk about me me me! ... Sorry, it's JUST the paragraph thing, honest? I do hope I haven't caused you any offence! :o

Dorry. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I know how you feel about losing him unexpectedly. My Dad was taken ill very suddenly in 2004, we took him to the hospital - nothing wrong we were told. Took him home 1am, 3 the next afternoon, he'd gone. My heart really goes out to you. This is such a difficult time. I know it seems like the world's ending and you probably feel as though you've lost a limb, but in time it does get easier
