    Morning everyone

manicdays - sounds like you had a fab time at aha. Morten is such a dish...he can get in my slow cooker any time...

We had a storm during the night over here, and it is lovely and cool at the moment. Sorry to make you hotties in England jealous but our temp today is predicted to be just 24 degrees!

I have had a lot of sleep since my early retreat from w*** yesterday, and feel much better for it. I do hope I can remain alert today as I'd prefer not to take another day's holiday to catch up on my zzzzzz's.

AussieLass - any more news on DS the Younger?

BargainRzl - best of luck with the viewing today.

Hope you all have a very cool Thursday.

    All the best.

    Jobs to do:

    Finish work!!!!
Go to indoor market to get some nice candle for Christmas
Do the recycling from home before I get moaned at some more!!!

    Hope everyone's ok

    Goodmorning everyone,

Manicdays Glad you enjoyed the concert. You reminded me of DOS when he went and saw Metillica. The lead singer had eye contact with him too. :D

BrnRzl I think you should take a camera and report back here later. ;) Some of us have no imagination and need pictures.

Snowy Good girl on your beauty sleep. I'm sure you didn't need it though.
    :D

Sorted out all out tax stuff today for the accountant & did DD's online for her. She should get a good refund this year. She will be pleased.

I just rang up hospital and they still have no idea what's wrong with YS. The rest of the tests haven't come back & they took more blood today. What's even more odd is one of the guys he went out to the mines with in the car is sick with the same thing in another hospital. DYS is improving though. He had some light brekky & lunch. Not on solids yet. But still bed bound. Still on the drip with antibiotics.

Better go and sort out the dogs. They are barking at something. Byeeeee

Scuzz ((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) Hope u get well soon.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Mornin all

Went tpo the beach yesterday and cam home at about 8pm last night, the dogs swam for ages and loved it.
Back to w*** today and off to sunny Kent.

Suppose to have my hair done saturday but I might cancel it, its over £100 and with the sun at the mo it has lightened my roots.

Oh talking of hair does anyone know where I can buy hair extension clips other than ebay?

Have a good day not looking as if it will be as hot here today.

Hi Churchmouse - Wow - I feel really honoured, I've got a great big cheesy grin now :D. Re the spices (cinamon etc) it's very much a personal preferrence thing. Lots of people don't put any, but my great grandmother made the best - and she used them. To be honest I like to shake a little, sniff the mix and think whether I need more or a different spice (can't believe I'm confessing to this!!!) I'd guess that it's between 1/2 and 1tsp of spices in total....
Another nice thing about welsh cakes is how well they keep (if you can resist eating them all!) My Gu used to keep hers in tin ready for visitors - but they also freeze well too (so I'm told!)
Hope you had a good sleep!

PPS - the recipie I gave really doesn't make many, but it's a great 'size' to keep on file as you can then multiply it to get what you want.

    Good morning all.

Just about to go to work so only a quick post... Had a good night's sleep which is surprising, and it feels like it's cooled down outside. Hopefully we will get some rain...

Found a cockroach in my flat yesterday  luckily the oh is braver than me and got rid of it...

Need to find a cheap guest bed or mattress for my sister who is coming to stay next week. Can't seem to find anything within my budget of £50. Any ideas?

    Speak later... :-)

    Morning everyone!
Didn't get to sit and read everyones posts till last night due to the heat - so my 'big' post is on that!
Just a quickie this morning before the sun warms.
Aussie Lass - my DS2 that's in the band loves metallica - and that's the type of music he plays. I do hope they pinpoint what has made your YS ill. As I said before, my ex got very ill (was in high dependancy unit for a while) with something similar. They never did find out what it was - just said it must've been viral!
Bargain Rzl - Hope it goes really well today (perhaps you should take some piccies to post if you can???)
Best go drink my tea, hope you all have a good day,

    Good morning all!

manicdays - glad you enjoyed A-ha!
scuzz - hope you are better soon
Aussielass - hope YS better soon, too
    ajax18 - cockroach....
PP - glad you had a good night
BRzl - hope all goes well today

Hi to the rest of you, too!

Well it's a funny sort of day here, no sunshine atm, just very high cloud to the east. But in the other direction the sky is clear, so I guess the sunshine won't be long in coming!
DS has his piano lesson today - don't think he's gone near the thing more than once since his exam last week!
The only other thing I have planned for today is to visit my grandma (age 97) on the way home from piano. She stayed indoors yesterday with the fan on, I rang her up to make sure she was drinking enough water - its a bit of a standing joke, cos she never wants to have a drink (presumably to avoid trips to the bathroom!) But when I rang she laughed cos she had just come back from the kitchen with a jug of water.
DD the babies also stayed indoors yesterday... yes, we have 5 generations in our family! So my grandma is great-great-grandma to my 2 granddaughters!

    Have a good day!
